Description
本願は、本願と同日に出願され、ベクトン・ディキンソン・アンド・カンパニーに譲渡された“CATHETER ASSEMBLY WITH TIP SHIELD CLOSURE”と題する出願に関連する。
Claims (12)
- ポートカテーテル式挿入技術とストレートカテーテル式挿入技術の両方に使用可能なカテーテルアセンブリであって、
注入ポートを有するカテーテルアダプタと、
カテーテルアダプタの近位側に配置され、外表面、遠位端、近位端を有するニードルハブと、
ニードルハブに取り付けられ、カテーテルアダプタを通じて挿入される針と、
ニードルハブにより取り囲まれるように構成されたチップシールドと、
外表面を有し、ニードルハブに、ニードルハブの外表面に沿って長さ方向に取り付けられる第一のサイドグリップと、
外表面を有し、ニードルハブにおける第一のサイドグリップの反対側に、ニードルハブの外表面に沿って長さ方向に取り付けられる第二のサイドグリップと、
第一および第二のサイドグリップの間におけるニードルハブの外表面に取り付けられ、ここから半径方向に延びるグリッププレートと、
を備え、
ポートカテーテル式挿入技術の使用時、親指がグリッププレートの近位側に置かれ、人差し指または中指が注入ポートの遠位側に置かれてカテーテルアセンブリが握られるよう、グリッププレートと注入ポートが配置され、
ストレートカテーテル式挿入技術の使用時、親指が第一のサイドグリップに置かれ、人差し指が第二のサイドグリップに置かれ、あるいはその逆となるよう親指と人差し指が置かれてカテーテルアセンブリが握られるよう、第一および第二のサイドグリップが配置され、
ストレートカテーテル式挿入技術の使用時における把持面が拡大されるよう、第一のサイドグリップはグリッププレートの第一の側面まで延び、第二のサイドグリップはグリッププレートの第二の側面まで延び、
ポートカテーテル式挿入技術の使用時における挿入が容易となるよう、グリッププレートは、針の中心線に沿って長さ方向に延びる軸と、軸上の、ニードルハブの近位端付近の地点から測定した場合に鈍角を形成することを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
グリッププレートと軸によって形成される角度が90度より大きく、約120度未満または約120度に等しいことを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項2に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
グリッププレートと軸によって形成される角度が約105度であることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
さらに、グリッププレートに取り付けられたサポートリブを備えることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
第一のサイドグリップと第二のサイドグリップが透明な材料で形成されることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
第一のサイドグリップ、第二のサイドグリップ、グリッププレートがポリプロピレンで形成されることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
さらに、第一のサイドグリップの外表面と第二のサイドグリップの外表面に複数の細長い突起部を有することを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
グリッププレートはリップを有することを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
注入ポートの遠位側面とグリッププレートの上側端縁との間の距離は、約17ミリメートルから約37ミリメートルであることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項9に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
距離は約27ミリメートルであることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、ニードルハブはさらに、
第一の内側ハブ表面と、
第二の内側ハブ表面を有し、第一と第二の内側ハブ表面はそれぞれ、チップシールドがニードルハブによって取り囲まれたときに、チップシールドがニードルハブに関して回転するのを防止するための、チップシールドのハウジングに沿って延びる突起を受けるように構成されていることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載のカテーテルアセンブリであって、
ポートカテーテル式挿入技術の使用時に親指がグリッププレートの近位側に置かれたときにも近位側から見えるよう、フラッシュバックチャンバがニードルハブの近位端付近に設置されていることを特徴とするカテーテルアセンブリ。
