Claims (4)
- ピクセルデータを受け取り、かつ
互いに異なる電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第1の組の参照電圧に基づいて互いに異なる電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第1の組のグレースケール電圧を生成してピクセル回路を駆動して、上記ピクセルデータに基づいて第1の期間に、第1のガンマプロフィールに応じた、それぞれ異なるグレースケールレベルを表示し、
互いに同じ電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第2の組の参照電圧に基づいて互いに同じ電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第2の組のグレースケール電圧を生成してピクセル回路を駆動して、第2の期間に黒レベルに対応する共通グレースケールレベルを表示し、
互いに異なる電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第3の組の参照電圧に基づいて互いに異なる電圧値を有する複数の電圧からなる第3の組のグレースケール電圧を生成してピクセル回路を駆動して、上記ピクセルデータに基づいて第3の期間に、第2のガンマプロフィールに応じた、それぞれ異なるグレースケールレベルを表示する
回路を備え、
前記回路は、第1のスイッチ、第2のスイッチ、および、前記第1の期間と前記第2の期間と前記第3の期間とで切り換えられる第3のスイッチと抵抗要素とを含む分圧器を備え、
前記分圧器は、前記第3のスイッチと前記抵抗要素が、第1の入力電圧が供給される第1のノードと第2の入力電圧が供給される第2のノードの間に直列に接続されており、
前記第1の入力電圧は、前記第1のスイッチをオンとし、前記第2のスイッチをオフとした状態と、前記第1のスイッチをオフとし、前記第2のスイッチをオンとした状態とを切り替えることで、2つの電圧のうちの一方を選択することができ、
前記第1のスイッチをオンとし、前記第2のスイッチをオフとし、前記第3のスイッチをオンにすると、前記第1のノードと前記第2のノードの間に電気的経路が形成され、前記分圧器は前記第1の入力電圧と前記第2の入力電圧の電圧差を分圧して前記第1の組の参照電圧を生成し、
前記第1のスイッチをオンとし、前記第2のスイッチをオフとし、前記第3のスイッチをオフにすると、前記第1のノードと前記第2のノードの間に電流が流れないので、前記分圧器は前記第2の組の参照電圧を生成し、
前記第1のスイッチをオフとし、前記第2のスイッチをオンとし、前記第3のスイッチをオンにすると、前記第1のノードと前記第2のノードの間に電気的経路が形成され、前記分圧器は前記第1の入力電圧と前記第2の入力電圧の電圧差を分圧して前記第3の組の参照電圧を生成する、装置。 - 前記回路は、前記第1、第2、および第3の組のグレースケール電圧を用いてデータ線を駆動する1つまたは複数のデータドライバを備え、前記データ線は前記ピクセル回路に接続される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記回路は、電圧供給が前記データドライバになされた後、かつ前記データドライバがホスト装置から送られたピクセルデータ信号を受け取る前の期間は前記第1のスイッチをオンとし、前記第2のスイッチをオフとし、前記第3のスイッチをオフにする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- ディスプレイに上記回路を含む、液晶ディスプレイ、プラズマディスプレイ、有機発光ダイオードディスプレイ、電界発光ディスプレイ、および表面伝導電子発光体ディスプレイのうちの少なくとも1つを備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
