アイソスタティック強度試験は、JASO自動車規格の自動車排気ガス浄化触媒セラミックモノリス担体の試験方法における、M505−87の6.2に記載の「アイソスタティック強度試験」に準拠して行った。アイソスタティック強度が10.5kgf/cm2(1.03MPa)以上を合格とした。
耐熱衝撃性試験は、JASO自動車規格の自動車排気ガス浄化触媒セラミックモノリス担体の試験方法における、M505−87の6.7に記載の「耐熱衝撃試験」に準拠して行った。クラックが全く発生しないものを合格とし、隔壁部にクラックが発生したものを不合格とした。また外周壁にクラックが発生しても合格とし、その外周壁クラックが隔壁に進展した時点で不合格とした。試験は700℃から50℃ずつ温度を上げ900℃まで実施(ただし途中で不合格になった場合はその時点で終了)した。耐熱衝撃性試験の合格率は、「Ts0に対するTs30-60の比率(外壁厚比)」が同じ値(例えば、0.95)のサンプル全体に対する、その中での合格サンプルの数の比率である。
Claims (5)
- 軸方向に伸びる複数のセルを区画形成するように形成された隔壁と、前記隔壁を囲むように配設される外周壁とを備えるハニカム構造体であって、
前記外周壁厚さの平均値(Ts)が、Tp<Ts≦10×Tp(Tp:前記隔壁厚さの平均値)であり、前記外周壁厚さが特定の位置で他の位置より薄く形成されてなり、
前記軸方向に垂直な断面で、中心から一の隔壁に沿って前記外周壁に向かう方向を「0°方向」とし、前記0°方向に伸びる直線が前記外周壁と交わる部分を「0°方向の外周壁」としたときに、以下の条件Aを満たし、
軸方向に垂直な断面において、前記セルの形状が正方形であり、外周形状が円形であるハニカム構造体。
条件A:前記0°方向の外周壁の厚さ(Ts0)と、前記0°方向を基準にして、30°方向から60°方向の範囲で最も薄い外周壁の厚さ(Ts30−60)との関係が、0.2Ts0<Ts30−60<0.60×Ts0 - 前記隔壁厚さの平均値(Tp)が、0.038mm≦Tp≦0.43mmである請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記軸方向に垂直な断面で、中心から一の隔壁に沿って前記外周壁に向かう方向を「0°方向」とし、前記0°方向に伸びる直線が前記外周壁と交わる部分を「0°方向の外周壁」としたときに、以下の条件Bを満たす請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体。
条件B:前記0°方向の外周壁の厚さ(Ts0)と、前記0°方向を基準にして、30°方向から60°方向の範囲で最も薄い外周壁の厚さ(Ts30−60)との関係が、0.4Ts0≦Ts30−60≦0.60×Ts0 - 前記軸方向に垂直な断面で、中心から一の隔壁に沿って前記外周壁に向かう方向を「0°方向」とし、前記0°方向に伸びる直線が前記外周壁と交わる部分を「0°方向の外周壁」としたときに、以下の条件1及び/又は条件2を満たす請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のハニカム構造体。
条件1:前記0°方向の外周壁の厚さ(Ts0)と、前記0°方向を基準にして、30°方向から60°方向の範囲で最も薄い外周壁の厚さ(Ts30−60)との関係が、Tp<Ts30−60<0.90×Ts0
条件2:90°方向の外周壁の厚さ(Ts90)と、前記Ts30−60との関係が、Tp<Ts30−60<0.90×Ts90 - 前記軸方向に垂直な断面で、前記0°方向(第1の0°方向)から前記90°方向(第1の90°方向)までの範囲を第1の範囲とし、以下90°毎に形成される範囲をそれぞれ第2〜第4の範囲とした場合に、
前記第2〜第4の範囲の少なくとも一つが、前記条件1及び/又は条件2を満たす請求項4に記載のハニカム構造体。
