このガラス組成物は、2300°F以下のHTVと、このHTV温度より少なくとも150°F低い液相線温度とを有する。この組成物は、下記の成分を含む。

MgO 0.5〜4重量%
Al2O3 10〜15重量%

Na2O 0.5〜1.5重量%

Claims (16)
- ガラス繊維の製造に有用なガラス組成物であって、
SiO2 52〜62重量%
B2O3 3.5〜5.5重量%
CaO 18〜25重量%
MgO 0.5〜4重量%
Al2O3 10〜15重量%
Na2O 0.25〜2重量%
を含み、
1260°C以下のHTVと、前記HTV温度より少なくとも66°C低い液相線温度とを有するガラス組成物。 - SiO2の量が53〜57重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- B2O3の量が4〜5重量%である、請求項2に記載のガラス組成物。
- CaOの量が20〜24重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- MgOの量が1〜3.5重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- Al2O3の量が12〜15重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- Na2Oの量が0.5〜1.5重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- 前記組成物が下記の量の成分を含む、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
SiO2 53〜57重量%
B2O3 4〜5重量%
CaO 20〜24重量%
MgO 1〜3.5重量%
Al2O3 12〜15重量%
Na2O 0.5〜1.5重量% - SiO2の量が54〜56重量%である、請求項8に記載のガラス組成物。
- CaOの量が21〜23.5重量%である、請求項8に記載のガラス組成物。
- MgOの量が1.5〜3重量%である、請求項10に記載のガラス組成物。
- Al2O3の量が14〜15重量%である、請求項8に記載のガラス組成物。
- HTVが1232°C未満である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- HTVが1204°C未満である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- 液相線温度が、HTV温度より少なくとも71°C低い、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
- B2O3の量が4.5〜5.0重量%である、請求項1に記載のガラス組成物。
