Claims (2)
- 複数の異なるフォーマットの一つで符号化されて複数の送信チャンネルの一つで送信されるビデオ情報を表わすデジタル・データストリームを受信する装置であって、
前記複数の送信チャンネルから送信チャンネルを選択する制御手段を備え、
前記制御手段は、復調フォーマットを選択するように復調器を操作し、少なくとも2つの異なる変調フォーマットが前記送信チャンネルを介してビデオ情報を送信するために使用され、前記制御手段が前記少なくとも2つの異なる変調フォーマットから前記変調フォーマットを選択し、
前記制御手段は、前記選択された変調フォーマットを使用して前記送信チャンネルを受信するようにチューニング操作を制御し、
前記制御手段は、有効データが前記選択された送信チャンネル上で受信されているか否かを決定し、
前記制御手段は、前記有効データが受信されるまで前記復調器が前記送信チャンネルにチューニングするために、異なる変調フォーマットを選択するように前記変調フォーマットの選択を繰り返し、
前記制御手段は、前記デジタル・データストリームを逆多重化する手段とともに動作して前記選択された送信チャンネルを介して送信されたプログラム・ガイド情報を取り込み、
前記制御手段は、前記取り込んだプログラム・ガイド情報に応じて前記送信チャンネルに再チューニングする
ことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記変調フォーマットが変わる場合に、前記送信チャンネルは固定のバンド幅であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
