この清掃シートをフロア用柄付清掃具の清掃板に巻装して、フローリング床の清掃に供した。その結果、清掃シート中の屋内塵性忌避成分の揮散作用ならびに接触作用、ならびに清掃に伴いこの清掃シートとの接触床表面に移行した忌避成分の揮散作用ならびに接触作用によって、屋内塵性ダニ類が清掃面に寄りつかない効果を付与することができた。また、本発明の屋内塵性ダニ忌避用物品は、清掃中芳香が広がり、ホコリや埃の捕捉性にもすぐれるとともに、死亡ダニやダニの糞によるダニアレルゲン活性も抑えることができるので、極めて実用的であった。

これに対し、比較例1の如く、従来の殺ダニ剤を用いると死亡ダニとして残るため、ダニアレルゲン活性の低減に繋がらなかった。また、ダニアレルゲン低減化剤として提案されたセスキテルペンアルコール(比較例2)は忌避効果が低く、ダニアレルゲン低減化剤の施用のみではダニアレルゲン問題を総合的に解決するのは困難と考えられた。
