Claims (6)
- 有機EL装置を構成する有機EL素子を備えた単位ピクセルの駆動器において、
ディスチャージ期間の間、前記単位ピクセルにチャージされた電荷を放電するディスチャージ電流を放出するディスチャージ部を備え、
該ディスチャージ部が、スイッチング手段及び電流ミラーリング手段を備え、
前記スイッチング手段が、前記単位ピクセルに印加された一定レベルのディスチャージさせるための駆動電圧がゲートに印加され、ディスチャージさせるための前記駆動電圧に応答して基準電流を前記電流ミラーリング手段に伝送する第2MOSトランジスタにより構成され、
前記電流ミラーリング手段が、前記スイッチング手段から伝送された基準電流がゲート及び一端側に印加され、他端側が接地電圧端子に接続された第1MOSトランジスタと、ゲートが前記第1MOSトランジスタのゲートに接続され、一端側が前記第2MOSトランジスタのゲート及び前記単位ピクセルに接続され、他端側が前記接地電圧端子に接続された第3MOSトランジスタとを備え、前記スイッチング手段を介して伝送された前記基準電流をミラーリングするように構成され、
前記基準電流をミラーリングした前記ディスチャージ電流が、前記電流ミラーリング手段を介して放出されることを特徴とする有機EL装置用駆動器。 - さらに、ディジタル値で印加された制御信号に対応する前記基準電流を生成し、前記ディスチャージ部の前記スイッチング手段に出力するディジタル−アナログ変換器を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL装置用駆動器。
- 前記ディスチャージ部が、
前記ディスチャージ期間の間、前記単位ピクセルと前記電流ミラーリング手段との間を接続するディスチャージ用スイッチング手段を、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL装置用駆動器。 - プリチャージ期間の間、前記単位ピクセルにプリチャージ用電流を出力するプリチャージ用電流源と、該プリチャージ用電流源と前記単位ピクセルを構成する有機EL発光素子、及び前記有機EL発光素子の両端に接続されたキャパシタとの間を接続するプリチャージ用スイッチング手段を備えたプリチャージ部とを、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL装置用駆動器。
- 駆動期間の間、前記単位ピクセルに駆動用電流を出力する駆動用電流源と、該駆動用電流源と前記単位ピクセルを構成する有機EL発光素子、及び前記有機EL発光素子の両端に接続されたキャパシタとの間を接続する駆動用スイッチング手段とを備えた駆動部を、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機EL装置用駆動器。
- 前記第1MOSトランジスタと前記第3MOSトランジスタとのチャネル幅の比が、1:mであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL装置用駆動器。
