Claims (11)
- 1フレーム画像信号から分岐された第1フィールド画像信号を有する第1メモリと、
前記1フレーム画像信号から分岐された第2フィールド画像信号を有する第2メモリと、
前記第1のメモリ及び前記第2のメモリに結合され、前記第1フィールド画像信号に基づく第1フィールド画像と、前記第2フィールド画像信号に基づく第2フィールド画像とを時間順次的に形成するディスプレイ素子と、
前記ディスプレイ素子の前に配置され、前記第1フィールド画像及び前記第2フィールド画像を時間順次的に通し、前記第2フィールド画像を前記第1フィールド画像に対して所定距離シフトさせる画像シフトユニットと、
前記画像シフトユニットの前に配置され、時間順次的に到達した前記第1フィールド画像及び前記第2フィールド画像の夫々に対し視域分離を行うための視域分離部とを備え、
前記第1フィールド画像及び前記第2フィールド画像が空間的に重なり合わず且つ時間順次的に交互に現れることによってモアレパターンを除去することを特徴とする直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。 - 前記ディスプレイ素子は、0.5のフィルファクターを有し、よって前記第1フィールド画像が前記ディスプレイ素子の画素の1/2に形成され、前記第2フィールド画像が前記ディスプレイ素子の画素の残りの1/2に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記画像シフトユニットは、
前記ディスプレイ素子と前記視域分離部との間に配置された入射光の偏光方向を選択的に変換させる偏光変換スイッチと、該偏光変換スイッチと前記視域分離部との間に配置され、前記偏光変換スイッチを通過した光の偏光方向によって屈折率が変わって、光を透過または屈折させる複屈折素子とを備えることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。 - 前記偏光変換スイッチは、液晶偏光変換器であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記偏光変換スイッチは、前記第1フィールド画像信号及び前記第2フィールド画像信号に同期されてオン−オフ作動されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記複屈折素子は、方解石または液晶で構成されたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記複屈折素子が、三角柱状に形成され、前記複屈折素子にプリズムが接合されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記複屈折素子及びプリズムがアレイ状に配列されたことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記視域分離部は、レンチキュラーレンズ、フライアイレンズまたはパララックスバリヤであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記視域分離部は、液晶バリヤを備えて2次元画像と3次元画像とを選択的に転換できることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のうち何れか一項に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
- 前記ディスプレイ素子は、LCDまたはFLCDであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の直視型立体画像ディスプレイ。
