Claims (4)
- 光源と、
該光源の前方に配置され、第1視点用の画像を表示する画素及びこの画素から見て一定の位置に配置され第2視点用の画像を表示する画素を少なくとも含む複数の表示単位がマトリクス状に配列された表示パネルと、
該表示パネルの前方に配置され、前記表示単位内において前記第1視点用の画像を表示する画素と前記第2視点用の画像を表示する画素とを配列した第1の方向に、前記各画素から出射した光を振り分ける光学手段と、を有し、
前記第1視点用の画像を表示する画素及び第2視点用の画像を表示する画素は夫々、複数の相互に異なる色に対応するように、前記第1の方向と直交する第2の方向で分割された複数の色領域を有し、
前記各画素において、前記各色領域は、その短辺の延伸する方向が前記第2の方向となる長方形状であり、さらに、前記第2の方向で2分割され、一方の分割領域は、前記光源から出射した光を前記光学手段に向けて透過させる透過領域であり、他方の分割領域は、前方から入射した外光を前記光学手段に向けて反射する反射領域であり、同じ色の領域が前記第1の方向に沿って配列されている、
ことを特徴とする画像表示装置。 - 前記光学手段は、長手方向が前記第2の方向であり、この第2の方向に延びる前記表示単位の列毎に設けられた複数本のシリンドリカルレンズが前記第1の方向に配列されたレンチキュラレンズである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記各画素は、夫々赤色領域、緑色領域及び青色領域に分割されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記第1視点用の画像が左眼用画像であり、前記第2視点用の画像が前記左眼用画像に対して視差をもつ右眼用画像であり、立体画像を表示するものである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の画像表示装置。
