Description
該記録層に第1の書き込み光を照射し、該アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物の分子を移動させて、該記録層を変形せしめ、その表面に凹凸形状を有する第1の光回折構造を形成する工程、
該記録層表面上に、変形防止層を形成し、該凹凸形状を固定する工程、及び
凹凸形状が固定された記録層に第2の書き込み光を照射し、該記録層内部に屈折率変化を有する第2の光回折構造を形成する工程を具備することを特徴とする。
記録層に第2の書き込み光を照射する前に、記録層表面上に、変形防止層を形成して、第1の光回折構造となる凹凸形状を固定することにより、第2の書き込み光を照射したときに、該アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物の分子の移動による変形を抑止して、該記録層内部に屈折率変化を有する第2の光回折構造を形成することができる。
アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物の薄膜は、その表面に、その高分子化合物の吸収帯に相当する波長の光例えばアルゴンレーザーのような515ないし458nmの波長の光を照射すると、アゾベンゼン構造の部分が異性体への転化を繰り返す。すなわち、下記構造式で表されるようなトランス体からシス体へ、シス体からトランス体への構造の変化を繰り返す。これにより、レーザービームの幾何形状と偏光状態に応じて、高分子鎖の移動が起こり、表面に凹凸パターンが形成されるという性質を有する。
第2の光回折構造は、干渉性の高い光により読み取り可能なホログラムまたは回折格子にすることが出来る。
Claims (8)
- 支持体上に、アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物を含む記録層を形成する工程、
該記録層に第1の書き込み光を照射し、該アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物の分子を移動させて、該記録層を変形せしめ、その表面に凹凸形状を有する第1の光回折構造を形成する工程、
該記録層表面上に、変形防止層を形成し、該凹凸形状を固定する工程、及び
凹凸形状が固定された記録層に第2の書き込み光を照射し、該記録層内部に屈折率変化を有する第2の光回折構造を形成する工程を具備することを特徴とする情報記録媒体の製造方法。 - 前記第1の光回折構造は目視で読み取り可能であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の情報記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記第2の光回折構造は機械で読み取り可能であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の情報記録媒体の製造方法。
- 前記変形防止層は光硬化性樹脂を含むことを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の情報記録媒体の製造方法。
- 支持体、該支持体上に設けられ、その表面に凹凸形状を有する第1の光回折構造が形成され、その内部に屈折率変化による第2の光回折構造が形成された、アゾベンゼン構造を有する高分子化合物を含む記録層、及び該凹凸形状を固定するために該記録層上に設けられた変形防止層を具備することを特徴とする情報記録媒体。
- 前記第1の光回折構造は目視で読み取り可能であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の情報記録媒体。
- 前記第2の光回折構造は機械で読み取り可能であることを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の情報記録媒体。
- 前記変形防止層は光硬化性樹脂を含むことを特徴とする請求項5ないし7のいずれか1項に記載の情報記録媒体。
