Description
本発明の水性組成物は、水性シラン機能ポリマーおよびポリアミドエピクロロヒドリン付加物を含む。
試験手順
例で用いられる手順は次に述べることを含む。
水性組成物のブルックフィールド粘度は、ブルックフィールドRVF−100粘度計(ブルックフィールドエンジアリングラボラトリーズ株式会社、ストーグトン、マサチューセッツ)を用いて、分あたり20回転(rpm)で動作するスピンドル#2を用い25℃にて測定される。ダイアルが5秒間動いた後に、読み取られ、センチポイズ(cps)で記録される。
乾燥破裂強度は、BF Perkins (Chicopee, MA)の圧力ゲージを装備するミューレン試験機を用いる紙の破裂強度のためのASTM774−92a標準試験方法に従って測定される。
湿潤破裂強度は、乾燥破裂強度試験後を除いて紙の破裂強度のためのASTM774−92a標準試験方法に従って測定され、試験試料は湿潤破裂強度を試験する前に3重量%アイボリー皿スープ溶液に10分間浸される。
乾燥含浸量は式[Tw−Uw)/Uw]×100、ここでTwは処理(すなわち乾燥および硬化)組成物の重量を表わし、かつUwは未処理基材紙の重量を表わす、を用いて計算される。
湿潤保持は、式[W/D]×100、ここでWは前記試験方法に従って試験される湿潤破裂強度を表わし、かつDは前記試験方法に従って試験される乾燥破裂強度を表わす、を用いて計算される。
水性シラン機能ポリマー分散液は、次のように調製する。
水性シラン機能ポリマー分散液は、0.82gBRUGGOLITE FF6が 0.82g BRUGGOLITE E01の代わりに添加することを除いて、例1に述べられた手順に従って調製される。
水性シラン機能ポリマー分散液は、CELVOL 823の量が10.08g、10.08gCELVOL 205が 2.4gCHANG CHUN BP-24の代わりに加えられ、かつBRUGGOLITE E01の添加がないことを除いて、例1に述べられた手順に従って調製される。
水性シラン機能ポリマー分散液は、CELVOL 823の量が12g、CELVOL 205が 8.89gおよび0.82g BRUGGOLITE FF6が加えられることを除いて、例1に述べられた手順に従って調製される。
例5−7のおのおのの水性組成物は各例1,3および4の800g水性シラン機能ポリマー分散液を20.4gポリアミドエピクロロヒドリン付加物と組合わせることによって調製される。各組成物の一部は表Iに記載されるように約6重量%の固体含有量を得るために水でさらに調節される。例6の水性組成物は表Iに記載されるようなpHを得るために水酸化ナトリウム(50%溶液)でさらに調節される。例7の水性組成物は、表Iに記載のようなpHを得るために水酸化アンモニウム(28%溶液)で調節される。
比較例1および2の水性組成物は表1による成分を組合わせることによって調製される。
Claims (11)
- セルロース基体を備えるフィルタ用増強剤であって、
a)水性シラン機能ポリマー、前記シラン機能ポリマーは
i)オキシシラン官能基のない少なくとも1つの第1エチレン系不飽和モノマー、および
ii)オキシシラン官能基を含む少なくとも1つの第2エチレン系不飽和モノマー
の反応生成物を含み、および
b)ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリン付加物
を含み、
前記ポリアミドエピクロロヒドリン付加物は前記ポリマー固体の重量に基づいて、0.1重量%から5重量%の量で存在する増強剤。 - 前記第1エチレン系不飽和モノマーは、C1〜C12アルカノールを持つC3〜C6α、β−モノエチレン系不飽和モノカルボン酸またはジカルボン酸のエステル;C1〜C18モノカルボン酸またはジカルボン酸のビニルエステル;ビニル芳香族化合物;エチレン系不飽和モノカルボン酸またはジカルボン酸またはそれらの無水物;アクリルアミドおよびアルキル置換アクリルアミド;またはその組合せを含む請求項1記載の増強剤。
- 前記第1エチレン系不飽和モノマーは、ビニルアセテート、ブチルアクリレート、エチルアクリレート、メチルアクリレート、2−2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート、スチレン、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、N−メチロールアクリルアミド、マレイン酸ジブチル、マレイン酸ジオクチル、ネオデカン酸ビニルまたはその組合せを含む請求項1または2記載の増強剤。
- 前記第2エチレン系不飽和モノマーは、(アクリルオキシプロピル)トリメトキシシラン、(メタクリルオキシプロピル)トリメトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシラン、ビニルトリエトキシシラン、またはその組合せを含む請求項1−3いずれか1項記載の増強剤。
- 前記第2エチレン系不飽和モノマーは、前記ポリマー固体の重量に基づいて0.01重量%から4重量%の量で存在する請求項1−4いずれか1項記載の増強剤。
- フィルタに用いられるセルロース基体の処理方法であって、前記基体を請求項1−5いずれか1項記載の増強剤と接触すること、および前記増強剤を硬化することを含む方法。
- 請求項6記載の方法によって処理されたセルロース基体を含むフィルタ。
- 前記セルロース基体は紙、ポリエステル繊維、ガラス繊維もしくはその組合せから作られる請求項7記載のフィルタ。
- 前記セルロース基体は5重量%から30重量%の乾燥含浸量を有する請求項7または8記載のフィルタ。
- 前記セルロース基体は硬化で、20%乾燥含浸量で30%以上の湿潤保持を示す請求項7−9いずれか1項記載のフィルタ。
- 粒子含有流体の濾過方法であって、前記流体を請求項7−10いずれか1項記載のフィルタを通過し、前記流体から前記粒子を分離することを含む方法。
