Description
各PLCは、正規に多重化される出力ポートと逆多重化される個々の出力ポートの双方を単一のPLC上に支持するために複数のAWGを含むことが可能であることが本明細書の開示による恩恵に浴する当業者には理解されよう。
積層されたPLCから形成され、多重化または逆多重化機能を組み込んだ波長選択スイッチが本明細書に記載された。
本発明の様々な実施形態の利点の1つは光信号を入力側ファイバからドロップ・ポートへとルーティングし、光信号をアド・ポートから出口側ファイバへとルーティングする際の損失が低減されることにある。
Claims (2)
- 組込み型デマルチプレクサ(210)を有する波長選択スイッチであって、
各々が自由空間領域に接続され、かつ平坦な導波回路端面で終端するアレイ導波路回折格子に更に接続された、同一の積層された複数の第1プレーナ導波回路(350)と、
前記複数の第1プレーナ導波回路と積層され、端面を有する第2プレーナ導波回路(400、500)と、
前記プレーナ導波回路端面がレンズ(360)の前部焦点面になるように配置され、前記レンズの後部焦点面でスペクトル分解された光信号を発生することによって空間フーリエ変換を実施するように動作可能なレンズ(360)と
前記レンズの後部焦点面に配置され、スペクトル成分を反射するように動作可能な傾動マイクロ・ミラーアレイ(370A−370N)と、を備え、
前記傾動マイクロ・ミラーアレイ(370A−370N)から反射された光線が第1(350)または第2(400、500)のプレーナ導波回路の少なくとも1つにそれぞれの端面を介して結合され、
前記第2プレーナ導波回路(400、500)は前記複数の第1プレーナ導波回路(350)とは相違し、
前記傾動マイクロ・ミラーアレイ(370A−370N)から反射された光線が第1(350)または第2(400、500)のプレーナ導波回路の少なくとも1つに結合され、
前記第2プレーナ導波回路(400、500)は複数のチャネルを対応する複数の個別の逆多重化導波路に分離するように動作可能であることを特徴とする波長選択スイッチ。 - 前記第2プレーナ導波回路(400、500)は更に、逆多重化された出力チャネル用の所定の通過帯域特性を付与するように動作可能な、配列された導波路格子と自由空間領域とを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長選択スイッチ(210)。
