Description
本発明は、一般にポリマー電池に関する。また特に、ポリマー電池のための温度変換装置に関する。
固体ポリマー電解質ならびにシート状のアノードおよびカソードのラミネートから製造された充電式電池は、従来型の液体電解質電池に対して多くの有利点を示す。これらの有利点としては、より少ない全電池重量、より多い出力密度、より高い比エネルギーおよびより長い耐用年数を有することと同様に、毒性の液体が環境に流出する危険を排除するため環境に優しいことが挙げられる。
従って本発明の目的は、ポリマー電池ケーシング中の各電気化学セルの個々の位置に関わらず、ポリマー電池の電気化学セルによって発生した熱エネルギーを消散させるために効果的な熱流路を提供する、ポリマー電池ケーシング中に組み込まれた温度変換装置を提供することである。
おのおのが複数の電気化学ラミネートおよび上記複数の電気化学ラミネートを受けるように配置されたアームを有する少なくとも一つの集電端子を含む、複数の電気化学セル;
該集電端子に隣接して位置し、機械的接触している弾性放熱材料であって、電気抵抗性かつ熱伝導性である弾性放熱材料;ならびに
複数の電気化学セルおよび弾性放熱材料を取り囲む壁、弾性放熱材料に隣接して位置しかつ弾性放熱材料と熱的接触している壁の少なくとも一つの内部表面、複数の電気化学セルによって発生した熱エネルギーを消散させるのに適合した壁の少なくとも一つの外部表面、を有する熱伝導性の構造用ハウジングを含むポリマー電気化学発電機を提供する。
おのおのが複数の電気化学ラミネートおよび上記複数の電気化学ラミネートを受けるように配置されたアームを有する少なくとも一つの集電端子を含む、複数の電気化学セル;
該集電端子に隣接して位置し、機械的接触している弾性放熱パッドであって、電気抵抗性かつ熱伝導性である弾性放熱パッド;
複数の電気化学セルおよび弾性放熱材料を取り囲む壁、弾性放熱材料に隣接して位置しかつ弾性放熱材料と熱的接触している壁の少なくとも一つの内部表面、複数の電気化学セルによって発生した熱エネルギーを消散させるのに適合されている壁の少なくとも一つの外部表面を有する、熱伝導性の構造用ハウジング;
弾性放熱パッドと壁の少なくとも一つの内部表面との間に位置する低摩擦フィルムであって、弾性放熱パッドと壁の少なくとも一つとの間の相対運動を容易にするように適合されているフィルム;ならびに
壁の少なくとも一つの外部表面に隣接して位置された熱交換装置であって、該熱交換装置が壁の少なくとも一つの外部表面から液状媒体への熱エネルギーの輸送に適している、熱交換装置
を含む、ポリマー電気化学発電機を提供する。
図1においては図示する目的で、共に積み重なった電気化学セル12のプリズム状の集合を含むポリマー電池10配置の、特定の、限定されない実施例が示される。ポリマー電池10は、ハウジングまたは筺体14、集電端子16および17によって共に並行に連結された複数の個々の電気化学ラミネートをそれぞれが有する一連の積み重なった電気化学セル12、集電端子16および17に隣接して位置しかつ端末16および17と密接な機械的接触をしている弾性放熱パッド18、ならびに電気化学セルスタックの各末端に位置しかつ減圧下において電気化学セル12を維持するために適合した圧力系20を含む。
一般に、個々の電気化学ラミネートはアノード層、ポリマー電解質分離層、カソード層および少なくとも一つの集電端子を含む。典型的に、それぞれの電気化学ラミネートは80〜300ミクロンの範囲での厚さを有する。
Claims (14)
- 積層された複数の電気化学セルであって、上記各電気化学セルが、複数の電気化学ラミネートおよび2つの集電端子を含み、上記各電気化学ラミネートが、アノード層、ポリマー電解質分離層およびカソード層を含み、上記各集電端子が上記複数の電気化学ラミネートに含まれるアノード層又はカソード層の先端を収容するように配置されたアームを有する、複数の電気化学セル;
上記集電端子に隣接して位置し、かつ機械的接触している弾性放熱材料であって、電気抵抗性かつ熱伝導性である上記弾性放熱材料;ならびに
上記複数の電気化学セルおよび上記弾性放熱材料を取り囲む壁を有する熱伝導性の構造用ハウジングであって、上記壁の内部表面が、上記弾性放熱材料に隣接して位置しかつ弾性放熱材料と熱的接触し、上記壁の外部表面が、上記複数の電気化学セルによって発生した熱エネルギーを消散させる、熱伝導性の構造用ハウジング
を含み、
上記弾性放熱材料と上記壁とが、熱的接触を維持したままで相対運動可能である、ポリマー電気化学発電機。 - さらに上記弾性放熱材料と上記壁の内部表面との間に位置するフィルムを含み、上記フィルムが上記弾性放熱材料と上記壁の内部表面との間の相対運動を容易にする、請求項1記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記弾性放熱材料が上記集電端子の輪郭に少なくとも部分的に合致する、請求項1記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記弾性放熱材料が上記集電端子の全長に沿って広がっている複数のリボンに分けられる、請求項1記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記複数のリボンのおのおの一つが、弾性放熱材料と上記壁の内部表面との間に位置したフィルムのバンドを含む、請求項4記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- フィルムの上記バンドが弾性放熱材料の各リボンを囲み、弾性放熱材料の各リボンを隣接するリボンから分離する内部伸張を含む、請求項5記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記壁の外部表面に隣接して位置する熱交換装置をさらに含み、上記熱交換装置が、上記壁の外部表面から液状媒体へ熱エネルギーを輸送するよう配置されている、請求項1記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記熱交換装置が、上記電気化学セルによって発生した熱エネルギーを消散させる突き出たベーンを含む請求項7記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 上記熱交換装置が、上記壁の中に設けられたチャネルを包含し、熱輸送が上記チャネルを通して液体状の冷却流体を循環させることによってなされる、請求項7記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。
- 空気が上記突き出たベーンの周囲を循環して上記電気化学セルにより発生した熱エネルギーを消散させる、請求項8記載のポリマー電気化学発電機。

上記弾性放熱パッドと上記壁の内部表面との間に位置するフィルムであって、上記弾性放熱パッドと上記壁の内部表面との間の相対運動を容易にする上記フィルム;ならびに
上記壁の外部表面に隣接して位置する熱交換装置であって、上記壁の外部表面から液状媒体へ熱エネルギーを輸送する上記熱交換装置
を含むポリマー電気化学発電機。
