Description
Claims (3)
- 第1偏光面を有する光を変調する光伝送用チップと、
前記第1偏光面を有する第1偏光、および、前記第1偏光面に直交する第2偏光面を有する第2偏光に、変調された第1偏光面の前記光を分割するスプリッタと、
前記第2偏光を受光し、電気信号に変換する光電変換素子と、
前記電気信号に基づき前記光伝送用チップのバイアス電圧を制御する制御回路とを備え、
前記スプリッタは、変調された前記光の光軸に直交するとともに前記第1偏光面に第1交差線で交差する仮想平面が規定される際に、第1交差線から前記光の前記光軸回りに所定の回転角でずれる第2交差線で前記仮想平面に交差する偏光膜を備えることを特徴とする光変調器。 - 請求項1に記載の光変調器において、前記光伝送用チップの端面と、当該端面に対向する前記スプリッタの入射面とは前記仮想平面に所定の角度で交差することを特徴とする光変調器。
- 請求項1または2に記載の光変調器において、前記スプリッタで前記第2偏光を出射させる出射面は前記仮想平面に所定の角度で交差することを特徴とする光変調器。
