Description
[実施例]
47.5重量パーセントのReを含む、外径1mm×内径0.5mmのMo−Re管状材料を、1800℃で2時間にわたって熱処理し、次いで管を封止するために機械的なクリンピングを行った。場合により、機械的なシールを補強するために、クリンプした領域をレーザ溶接した。管状材料の内部に10000psiまでの水圧を加える装置でMo−Re管状材料シールを試験した。水がシールを通り抜けた圧力を、下表に破裂圧力として記している。

Claims (8)
- レニウムの濃度が35〜55重量パーセントの範囲内にあり、−50℃未満の露点を持つ雰囲気中で1200℃〜1900℃の温度で0.5時間〜4時間熱処理されたモリブデン−レニウム合金を含む材料から構成され、クリンプによりシールされた端部を有する、封止管(14)。
- 機械的にクリンプしたシール又は溶接したシールを有している請求項1記載の封止管(14)。
- 少なくとも2000psiの圧力に耐えることのできる請求項1又は2記載の封止管(14)。
- 前記モリブデン−レニウム合金は0℃から1200℃までの温度範囲にわたってモリブデン単独よりも大きい線熱膨張百分率を有している請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の封止管(14)。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の封止管(14)を含んでいる放電ランプ(10)。
- ハロゲン化物放電材料を含んでいる請求項5記載の放電ランプ(10)。
- モリブデン−レニウム合金の延性及び硬度を変更する方法であって、レニウムの濃度が35〜55重量パーセントの範囲内にあるモリブデン−レニウム合金を−50℃未満の露点を持つ雰囲気中で1200℃〜1900℃の温度で0.5時間〜4時間熱処理することにより、モリブデン−レニウム合金の延性を増大させ且つ硬度を減少させることを特徴とする方法。
- 前記モリブデン−レニウム合金は前記熱処理の前に押出し成形により管に形成されている請求項7記載の方法。
