Description
本発明に依れば噴霧ノズルは、A)各ローラ間の間隙に向けて導向される塗付材料の噴霧を生成し、その場合に噴霧された塗付材料の大部分は間隙を通過し、または、B)噴霧パターンの幅は間隙において該間隙の幅の150%以下であるという噴霧パターンを有する塗付材料の噴霧を生成すべく構成される、という任意種類の小滴生成システムとされ得る。典型的に噴霧ノズルは、狭幅噴霧パターンを有する噴霧を生成すべく構成される。
本明細書中に記述される塗付装置および方法は、転動可能デバイスに対して塗付を行う上で多くの利点を提供する。特に装置は、円筒状もしくは管状の形状を有する小寸の医療デバイスなどの小寸対象物を塗付する上で非常に適切である。
実施例1
塗付装置
ステンレス鋼ステントに対して塗付を行うために、ロボット式アームに取付けられた超音波噴霧ノズル(ソノ・テック;ニューヨーク州、ミルトン)を有する自動塗付装置が用いられた。噴霧ノズルに対しては、シリンジ・ポンプ(ケーディーサイエンテフィック社[kdScienetific Inc.]、ペンシルバニア州、ニューホープ)を用いて塗付溶液が供給された。ローラ対上の溝内には、各ローラ対の間の間隙の上方にて各ステントが載置された。合計で6対のローラがトレイに取付けられて塗付領域へと移動された。噴霧ノズルは各ローラの上方を進行し、各ステント上の狭幅帯域に塗付溶液を放出した。噴霧ノズルが第6のローラの端部に到達したとき、第1〜第3のローラは各ステントを割出して回動させる。噴霧ノズルが第3ローラの端部に到達したとき、第4〜第6のローラが割出しを行う。塗付装置の能力は、各ステントを18mm長さとして約50個のステントである。
基礎塗付材料の適用
長さが18mmで直径が1.5mmのサイズを有するステントに基礎塗付物を提供するために、実施例1に記述された塗付装置が使用された。各ステントの表面積に基づき、基礎塗付物の重量範囲はステント毎に600〜660μgの範囲に選択された。塗付手順の前に、各ステントは個別に重量測定された。各ステントは一対のローラ上に載置され、且つ、基礎塗付材料が各ステント上に付着された。
Claims (27)
- a)第1軸心を有する第1ローラと第2軸心を有する第2ローラとを各対が有するという少なくとも一対のローラを備えたデバイス回動器であって、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方と係合しうるローラ駆動機構を備え、前記第1および第2軸心は相互に対して平行であり、前記第1および第2ローラは間隙により分離され、且つ、当該デバイス回動器は転動可能デバイスを支持すると共に支持された所定位置において該転動可能デバイスを転動させ得るというデバイス回動器と、
b)制御されたパターンにて塗付材料の噴霧を生成し得る噴霧ノズルであって、該噴霧ノズルは、前記間隙の上方に配置され、また、その噴霧が前記間隙に向けて導向される如く且つ塗布されるべき表面を有する転動可能デバイスが前記一対のローラ上に無いときには前記噴霧の少なくとも50%は前記間隙を通過され得る如く作用的に配置されるという噴霧ノズルとを有し、
前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方は複数のリブを備え、前記リブは、ローラ軸心の近位に対しては広幅であり且つ該ローラ軸心の遠位に対しては狭幅である形状を有する、転動可能デバイスの表面に対して塗付を行う装置。 - 前記噴霧ノズルは、前記第1軸心もしくは前記第2軸心のいずれかに対して90°未満かつ5°より大きい角度である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも一対のローラは、トレイ上に取付けられる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記トレイは、移動可能である、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記デバイス回動器は、前記ローラ駆動機構を有し、該ローラ駆動機構は、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方の末端部分に係合可能なシャフトを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記噴霧ノズルは、超音波処理部材を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記超音波処理部材は、気体流に対するチャネルを含み、且つ、前記噴霧パターンは、部分的に前記気体流により確立される、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記間隙は、0.1mm〜15mmの範囲内である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記間隙は、0.1mm〜2.5mmの範囲内である、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記噴霧ノズルは先端を備え、該先端は前記間隙に対して最も近位である噴霧ノズルの部分であり、且つ、前記先端から前記間隙までの距離は1〜10mmの範囲内である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第一ローラおよび前記第二ローラは、5mm〜100mmの範囲の周長を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- a)デバイス回動器上に転動可能デバイスを載置する段階であって、前記デバイス回動器は、第1軸心を有する第1ローラと第2軸心を有する第2ローラとを有するという一対のローラを備え、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方は複数のリブを備え、前記リブは、ローラ軸心の近位に対しては広幅であり且つ該ローラ軸心の遠位に対しては狭幅である形状を有し、また、前記デバイス回動器は、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方と係合しうるローラ駆動機構を備え、前記第1および第2軸心は相互に対して平行であり、前記第1および第2ローラは間隙により分離され、前記デバイス回動器は前記デバイスを支持すると共に支持された所定位置において該デバイスを転動させることが可能であり、且つ、前記間隙は前記デバイスより広幅ではないという段階と、
b)前記転動可能デバイス上に塗付材料を配設する段階であって、前記間隙の上方に配置された噴霧ノズルから制御されたパターンにて塗付材料を噴霧する段階を有し、前記噴霧ノズルは、その噴霧が前記間隙に向けて導向される様に且つそのパターンが前記デバイスより広幅ではない様に作用的に配置されるという段階と、
c)前記第1または第2ローラの少なくとも一方を回動することで前記転動可能デバイスを回動させる段階と、
を有する、転動可能デバイスに対して塗付を行う方法。 - 前記第1軸心もしくは前記第2軸心のいずれかに平行な方向に前記噴霧ノズルを移動する段階を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記配設段階および移動段階は、同時に実施される、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記転動可能デバイスを回動させる前記段階は、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方を割出す段階を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記転動可能デバイスを回動させる前記段階は、前記第1ローラ、前記第2ローラまたは前記第1および第2ローラの両方をランダムに割出す段階を有する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記回動段階は、塗付物が乾燥される前に実施される、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記噴霧ノズルは、超音波処理部材を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記超音波処理部材は、気体流に対するチャネルを含み、且つ、前記噴霧パターンは、部分的に前記気体流により確立される、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記配設段階において前記塗付材料は、ポリマ性の、光励起可能な、生物学的にもしくは医薬的に活性な化合物、または、それらの組み合わせから成る、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記転動可能デバイスの回りの湿度、温度または両方を調整する段階を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記調整段階は、少なくともひとつの段階a)、b)またはc)と同時に実施される、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記転動可能デバイスは、円筒形状を有すると共に直径が5cm以下である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記転動可能デバイスは、医療デバイスの少なくとも一部分である、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記医療デバイスの前記少なくとも一部分は、カテーテルまたはステントである、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記噴霧ノズルは、前記間隙の上方に位置決めされる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記噴霧ノズルは、前記間隙の上方に位置決めされる、請求項12に記載の方法。
