Claims (4)
- ノズルを有する、液滴生成プリントヘッドを動作させる方法であって、
プリントヘッドを加熱し、
溶融した相変化インクを前記プリントヘッドに与えて、該プリントヘッドが前記溶融相変化インクを収容するようにし、
前記プリントヘッドを冷却させ、
前記プリントヘッドの冷却中において、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクが凝固するときに、該相変化インクが前記ノズルの出口において表面張力を維持するのに十分な圧力で、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクを加圧する、
ことを含み、
前記加圧が、加圧空気供給源より与えられる加圧空気により行われる、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記プリントヘッド内の相変化インクを加圧することが、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクを、1.1インチ水柱から1.5インチ水柱(276N/m2から372N/m2)までの圧力で加圧することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プリントヘッドが、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクの凝固点より低い温度まで冷却した場合に、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクの加圧を中止することを更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プリントヘッドが、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクの凝固点より5℃〜10℃低い温度まで冷却した場合に、該プリントヘッド内の相変化インクの加圧を中止することを更に含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
