Description
(1)非磁性基板上に、少なくとも裏打ち層と下地層と中間層と垂直磁気記録層をこの順で含む垂直磁気記録媒体であって、
前記下地層は、fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層であり、
前記中間層は、bcc構造の(110)結晶配向層、および、hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層をこの順で含み、
前記垂直磁気記録層は、hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層であり、
前記bcc構造の(110)結晶配向層が、Cr、または、Crを主成分として60原子%以上含み、その他に、Mn、Mo、B、Tiからなる群から選ばれる何れか1種を含む合金からなり、
前記hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層が、Ruからなり、
前記fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層が、NiFe、または、Niに20原子%未満のWを添加した合金からなることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体。
(2)前記fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層が、NiFe、または、Niに10原子%以下のWを添加した合金からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気記録媒体。
(3)磁気記録媒体と、該磁気記録媒体に情報を記録再生する磁気ヘッドとを備えた磁気記録再生装置であって、
磁気記録媒体が、(1)又は(2)に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体であることを特徴とする磁気記録再生装置。
本発明の中間層は、fccの(111)結晶配向をとる下地層とhcpの(002)結晶配向をとる第2中間層の間に、bccの(110)結晶配向をとる第1中間層を挿入している。
(実施例1、比較例1)
HD用ガラス基板をセットした真空チャンバをあらかじめ1.0×10−5(Pa)以下に真空排気した。
(実施例2、比較例2)
実施例1と同様に、ガラス基板に軟磁性層を成膜する。下地層として、NiFe、を5(nm)成膜したものを作製した(実施例2−1)。また、fcc元素であるNiにbcc元素であるWを0、10、20(%)添加した合金を5(nm)成膜したものを作製した(実施例2−3,参考例2−2,4)。その後、第1中間層としてCrを、第2中間層としてRuをそれぞれ10(nm)成膜した。ガス圧は、それぞれ0.6(Pa)と10(Pa)である。比較例として、下地層なし、アモルファス構造をとるNi−50W、bcc構造をとるWを下地層として5(nm)成膜したものを作製した(比較例2−1〜3)。
(実施例3、比較例3)
実施例1、2と同様に、ガラス基板に軟磁性層を成膜する。下地層として、fcc構造を有するNiFeを5(nm)、ガス圧0.6(Pa)のAr雰囲気中でそれぞれ成膜した。

Claims (3)
- 非磁性基板上に、少なくとも裏打ち層と下地層と中間層と垂直磁気記録層をこの順で含む垂直磁気記録媒体であって、
前記下地層は、fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層であり、前記裏打ち層に接して配置され、
前記中間層は、bcc構造の(110)結晶配向層、および、hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層をこの順で含み、
前記垂直磁気記録層は、hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層であり、
前記bcc構造の(110)結晶配向層が、Cr、または、Crを主成分として60原子%以上含み、その他に、Mn、Mo、B、Tiからなる群から選ばれる何れか1種を含む合金からなり、
前記hcp構造の(002)結晶配向層が、Ruからなり、
前記fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層が、NiFe、または、Niに20原子%未満のWを添加した合金からなることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体。 - 前記fcc構造の(111)結晶配向層が、NiFe、または、Niに10原子%以下のWを添加した合金からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 磁気記録媒体と、該磁気記録媒体に情報を記録再生する磁気ヘッドとを備えた磁気記録再生装置であって、
磁気記録媒体が、請求項1又は2に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体であることを特徴とする磁気記録再生装置。
