- X方向に延びる複数の行とY方向に延びる複数の列とを有するマトリクス状に配列された複数の画素を有し、
前記複数の画素のそれぞれは、液晶層と、前記液晶層に電圧を印加する複数の電極とを有し、供給されたある輝度の表示信号電圧に対して、前記ある輝度よりも高い輝度となる少なくとも1つの明副画素と、前記ある輝度よりも低い輝度となる少なくとも1つの暗副画素とを備え、
前記少なくとも1つの明副画素の面積は前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素の面積よりも小さく、
前記複数の画素のそれぞれにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素と前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素とがY方向に配列されている場合、同一の行に属し同一の色を表示する最も近接する2つの画素は、画素の幾何学重心のY座標は互いに異なり、輝度重心のY座標の差の最大値が前記2つの画素のY方向の長さRYの2分の1以下である、または、
前記複数の画素のそれぞれにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素と前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素とがX方向に配列されている場合、列方向に隣接する2つの画素は、画素の幾何学重心のX座標は互いに異なり、輝度重心のX座標の差の最大値が前記2つの画素のX方向の長さRXの2分の1以下である、液晶表示装置。 - X方向に延びる複数の行とY方向に延びる複数の列とを有するマトリクス状に配列された複数の画素を有し、

前記複数の画素のそれぞれにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素と前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素とがY方向に配列されている場合、同一の行に属し同一の色を表示する最も近接する2つの画素は、画素の幾何学重心のY座標は互いに異なり、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素の輝度重心のY座標の差は、前記2つの画素のY方向の長さRYの2分の1以下である、または、
前記複数の画素のそれぞれにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素と前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素とがX方向に配列されている場合、列方向に隣接する2つの画素は、画素の幾何学重心のX座標は互いに異なり、前記少なくとも1つの明副画素の輝度重心のX座標の差は、前記2つの画素のX方向の長さRxの2分の1以下である、液晶表示装置。 - 同一の行に属し同一の色を表示する最も近接する2つの画素は、一方の画素の明副画素の輝度重心のY座標は当該画素の幾何学重心を原点とすると正であり、他方の画素の明副画素の輝度重心のY座標は当該画素の幾何学重心を原点とすると負である、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 同一の列に属する画素における前記少なくとも1つの明副画素および前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素の配列は同一である、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の画素のそれぞれが有する少なくとも1つの明副画素は、唯1つの明副画素である、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の画素のそれぞれが有する少なくとも1つの暗副画素は、唯1つの暗副画素である、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの暗副画素の面積は前記少なくとも1つの明副画素の面積の3倍以上である、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
