Description
本明細書で使用するとき、「食用基材」又は「基材」は、その上に配置された画像を有することができる、摂取に好適ないずれの材料も含む。いずれの好適な食用基材も、本明細書で本発明に使用することができる。好適な食用基材の例としては、スナックチップ(例えば、スライスされたポテトチップ)、加工スナック(例えば、トルティーアチップ、ポテトチップ、ポテトクリスプのような加工チップ)、押出成形スナック、クッキー、ケーキ、チューインガム、キャンディー、パン、果物、ドライフルーツ、ビーフジャーキー、クラッカー、パスタ、薄切り肉、スライスチーズ、パンケーキ、ワッフル、ドライフルーツフィルム、朝食用シリアル、トースターペストリー及びペットフードを挙げることができるが、これらに限定されない。更に、印刷されたフレーバ又は香気が、コーヒーを入れている間に水に溶解できるコーヒータブレット及びコーヒーポッドも挙げられる。
「フレーバ」は、食用基材の味又は香気に対する、消費者が知覚可能な効果を有するいずれの添加剤としても定義される。フレーバとしては、例えばイチゴ、バーベキュー、タマネギ、ビネガー等の個々のフレーバ;例えば、甘い、酸っぱい、苦い等のフレーバノート;また例えば辛い又は辛さのまろやかなハラペーニョ等の強度が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。本発明の製品で用いられるフレーバとしては、例えば美味しそうな及び甘いフレーバを挙げることができる。美味しそうなフレーバとしては、ピザ、BBQ、サワークリーム及びオニオン、ベーコン、チェダーチーズ、オリエンタルブレンド、タマネギ型、ハム、パルメザンチーズ、タコ、煙及びこれらの混合物が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。甘いフレーバとしては、シナモン黒砂糖、バタースコッチ、カラメル、ヒメウイキョウ、メープル、チョコレート、果物フレーバ、ハチミツ、バニラ及びこれらの混合物が挙げられる。
食用基材上にインクジェット装置のような電子印刷装置を用いることは、当該技術分野において既知である。例えば、米国特許出願公開第20050163898 A1号、同第20050058749 A1号及び国際特許公開第05002360号(全て、ロマナハ(Romanach)ら、全てプロクター・アンド・ギャンブル社(Procter & Gamble Co)に譲渡)を参照のこと。ロマナハによる3つの公開された特許公報は全て本明細書に参照することにより組み込まれる。同様に、超音波プリンタによる印刷も一般に既知であるが、これらのプリンタは現在本明細書で開示するような食用基材への印刷には使われていない。超音波印刷の説明は、同時継続中の米国特許出願第xx/xxx,xxx号(ウェン(Wen)ら、プロクター・アンド・ギャンブル社に譲渡)に見い出すことができる。ウェンの特許出願は、本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
食用インクは、本明細書では、キャリア及び1つ又は複数のフレーバを含有する均質な液体、スラリー又はペーストを含むことを意味する。他の成分が存在してもよい。食用基材上の、インクジェット装置又は超音波印刷装置のような電子印刷装置で用いるための食用インクは、当該技術分野において既知である。例えば、国際特許公開第06023615号(ウェンら、プロクター・アンド・ギャンブル社に譲渡)を参照のこと。ウェンの公開された特許公報は、本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
ポテトドウを形成し、シート化し、印刷機構に輸送する。シート化ドウ上に印刷される種々のフレーバを含む電子画像を選択する。ドウに、インクジェットプリンタで、電子画像に従って印刷する。印刷されたドウを、型内に搭載して、型内で油中で揚げる個々のドウ片に切断する。画像が配置され、油中で揚げたポテトスナック片を型から取り出し、加塩し、キャニスターに分割し差し込む、包装機構にスナック片を搬送する。
チーズバーガー:実施例1に従って作製したクリスプのキャニスターは、4種の異なるフレーバの「積み重ね体」状に配置されたクリスプを有する。4種のクリスプの積み重ね体は、チーズバーガー内の異なる成分を含む。消費者は、各クリスプを別々に食べるか、4種全てを同時に食べるかを選ぶことができる。4種のクリスプは、以下のものから構成されていた:
プリングルス(Pringles)サワークリーム&オニオン並びにレギュラー:実施例1に従って作製したクリスプのキャニスターは、フレーバが交互に配置された製品を有する。この実施例では、製品は、サワークリーム&オニオンで風味付けされたクリスプと風味付けしていないクリスプが互い違いになっている。
Claims (23)
- (a) 少なくとも2種の食用基材であって、該食用基材のそれぞれは同一の組成を有し、第1の基材はその上に付着された第1の別個のフレーバを有し、第2の基材はその上に付着された第2の別個のフレーバを有し、第1の別個のフレーバおよび第2の別個のフレーバは、共に食すと協調的なフレーバが生じ得るように調整されている、少なくとも2種の食用基材と、
(b) 容器と
を含み、それぞれの食用基材は、共に食される際に該フレーバが協調的であるように容器中に積み重ね体として配列されているパッケージ。 - それぞれの食用基材は加工スナック片を含む、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 該食用基材は、該容器中で交互の順序で配列されている、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 4種の異なるフレーバを有する4種の食用基材が存在し、該食用基材は、該容器中で4種の異なるフレーバの積み重ね体として配列されている、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 3種以上の基材をさらに含み、該3種以上の基材のそれぞれは、その上に付着されたフレーバを有する、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記協調的なフレーバが、ハンバーガー、チーズバーガー、サワークリーム及びオニオン、ピザ、ペパロニピザ、ピーナッツバター及びゼリー、果物混合物、カラメルアップル、シナモンシュガー並びにこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記異なるフレーバが、製造後の混合工程を必要としないように、同じ製造ラインで順次的に異なる基材上にデジタル的に付着される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記食用基材が異なる形状を有し、更に各異なる形状が、1つの別個のフレーバに関連する、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記フレーバが、液体、スラリー又はペーストとして付着される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 各フレーバが、食用キャリアと共に付着される、請求項9に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記キャリアが、プロピレングリコール、プロピレングリコール誘導体、油及びこれらの組み合わせから選択される、請求項10に記載のパッケージ。
- 1つ又は複数の乾燥調味料が基材に適用される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記別個のフレーバが、消費者に見えるように着色される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記別個のフレーバが、消費者に見えるように着色され、各独特なフレーバが異なる色を有する、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記別個のフレーバが、超音波付着、ドロップ・オン・デマンドのインクジェット印刷及びこれらの組み合わせにより基材に付着される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 乾燥調味料もまた基材上に振りかけられる、請求項15に記載のパッケージ。
- フレーバが糖衣の形態ではない、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記食用基材が、フレーバの適用前に調理される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記基材が、油中で揚げること、焼くこと、マイクロ波加熱、真空乾燥、押出成形及びこれらの組み合わせにより調理される、請求項18に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記基材が、フレーバの適用後に調理される、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記基材が、油中で揚げること、焼くこと、マイクロ波加熱、真空乾燥、押出成形及びこれらの組み合わせにより調理される、請求項20に記載のパッケージ。
- 少なくとも1種の基材が、上部に印刷された画像を有する、請求項1に記載のパッケージ。
- 前記画像が食品又はフレーバを説明し、前記食品又はフレーバが、画像を含有する基材上に付着したフレーバに対応する、請求項22に記載のパッケージ。
