Description
「有機分子」(すなわち、出発材料)は、典型的にはモノマーであるけれども、モノマー、オリゴマーまたはポリマーであることが可能である。これらは、コンビナトリアル化学において「構造単位」として用いることが可能である。「誘導有機分子」は、出発有機分子を基準として何らかの点で異なる有機分子である。有機分子および誘導有機分子は、「有機基」の定義に関して以下で記載したようにヘテロ原子および置換基を含むことが可能である。本明細書において、有機分子は、有機金属分子として分類できるような金属またはメタロイドを含むことも可能である。
官能化担体は、担体材料(基担体または基ポリマーあるいは基樹脂と呼ばれることが多い)および一個以上の官能基、好ましくはアズラクトン官能基を含む。担体材料は、官能基、好ましくは、アズラクトン官能基が結合されている(例えば、高エネルギー放射線およびラジカル反応の使用を通して)既存材料であることが可能であるか、あるいは担体材料およびその官能化が一般に同時に発生する(例えば、ラジカル重合の使用を通して)ことが可能である。
好ましくは、担体材料は、大有機化合物または小有機化合物の構築のためにリンカー分子を結合できる官能基を含む。適する官能基には、エポキシド基またはオキシラン基、N−ヒドロキシスクシンイミドエステル基、スルホニルエステル基、ヨードアセチル基、アルデヒド基、イミダゾールカルバメート基、クロロトリアジン基などの求電子性基、あるいはリンカー分子、特にアミノ基を含むリンカー分子と共有結合を形成するために反応が可能な他の基が挙げられる。
官能化担体は、好ましくは、リンカー分子を共有結合するとともに、高分子であっても高分子でなくてもよい化合物の固相合成のための出発点を提供するために用いられる。例えば、コンビナトリアルライブラリーの作成に際して、リンカーおよび有機分子が結合されている官能基をグループに分類することができ、その後、一連の類似体を形成するために置換基を導入することにより化学的に変性することが可能である。あるいは、モノマーの段階的添加により従来のポリマー(ホモポリマー、コポリマー、ターポリマーなど)生成を実施することが可能である。
本発明の範囲を限定するのではなく例示するために以下の実施例を提示する。特に指示がない限り、すべての部および百分率は重量により、すべての分子量は重量平均分子量である。
