Description
これは、通常の照明光学系に使用される光学樹脂材料を用いた場合において、θが上限値である50°を超えると、各プリズム反射面21e1で反射する光束が極端に減少してしまったり、光学部材21に対して射出および入射する回数が増加してこれに伴う表面反射による光量ロスが極端に多くなったりして、望ましい光学系とならないためである。また、θが下限値である25°より小さくなると、射出面21fから射出する光束が、射出面21fへの垂直方向に対して倒れすぎ、望ましい光学系とならないためである。本実施例では、上記角度範囲のほぼ中心値である40°を採用している。
これは、αが下限値である0.5°より小さくなると、光学部材21の成形時において、プリズム反射面21e1の頂点近傍についてしまうR面の影響が大きくなり、本実施例で望まれる方向変換機能である入射光束の角度による分離や全反射をうまく行えず、望ましい光学系とはならないからである。また、たとえこのような微細なプリズム反射面をR面が小さくなるように成形できたとしても、極めて高価な光学部材となってしまい実用的ではない。

Claims (7)
- 射出面と、該射出面と対向する位置に形成された、該射出面に対して所定方向に傾いている第1の面を有するプリズム部と、第1の光源からの光を入射させる入射面と、を備えた光学部材と、
前記光学部材よりも前記プリズム部側に配置された、第2の光源からの光を前記光学部材に向かって射出する導光部材と、を有し、
前記プリズム部は、前記導光部材から射出された前記第2の光源からの光を入射させる第2の面を有し、前記入射面から入射した前記第1の光源からの光を前記第1の面で前記射出面の方向に反射させるとともに、前記第2の面から入射した前記第2の光源からの光を前記第1の面で前記射出面の方向に反射させることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 前記第1の面は、前記射出面側の第1の領域で前記第1の光源からの光を反射し、前記導光部材側の第2の領域で前記第2の光源からの光を反射することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の面は、前記第1の領域と前記第2の領域とで前記射出面に対する傾き角度が異なることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の面は、前記第1の領域よりも前記第2の領域のほうが前記射出面に対する傾き角度が大きいことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の発光装置。
- 前記光学部材は、前記射出面がリング形状に形成されるとともに、前記プリズム部が前記リング形状の周方向に複数形成されていて、前記第2の面は、隣り合う前記第1の面の間に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の面は、前記リング形状の周方向に傾いていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の発光装置。
- 請求項1から6のいずれか1つに記載の発光装置の装着が可能な又は該発光装置を備えたことを特徴とする機器。
