Description
本発明は、腹膜透析溶液のような治療用溶液の送達における使用に特によく適したレーザー溶接可能な可撓性チューブに関する。
本発明は、医用手順を実施する改良された医用デバイスおよび方法を提供する。一般に、本発明の方法およびデバイスは、連結プロセスおよび取り外しプロセスを含み、これらの各々はレーザー技術を使用する。連結プロセスにおいて、レーザーは、2つの可撓性チューブの間に溶接を形成する。取り外しプロセスにおいて、このレーザーは、チューブを密閉して、1つのチューブから2つの密閉末端チューブセグメントを形成する。

一般に、チュービング50の材料は、可撓性プラスチックである。このチュービングおよびそのアセンブリは、以下に詳細に議論される。好ましい実施形態において、この材料は、熱可塑性、クラトン(kraton)ポリプロピレンブレンドなどである。本発明の一つの好ましい実施形態において、熱を発生させるためのレーザーに応答する化学添加物が添加される。一つの特に適切な添加物は、色素から選択され得る。この色素は、レーザーのエネルギーの吸収を促進するためにレーザーダイオードの波長またはその付近のエネルギーを吸収し、これによりチュービングを加熱するために選択される。従って、選択されたレーザーの周波数(例えば、半導体ダイオードまたはYAGレーザー)は、このチュービングに添加される色素の特異的な特徴と一致するべきである。いくつかの適用(例えば、CO2レーザー適用)において、色素は必要とされ得ない。なぜならば、このチュービングの吸収波長は、レーザーによって発生される波長と同一の波長であるからである。
多数のセンサ300、302、304、...は、ハウジング12内に配置される。この図面において同定されたセンサの位置は、単に一つの例であることが理解されるべきである。このセンサに関して他の許容可能な位置は、デバイス10内の構成要素のレイアウトに依存して達成され得る。このセンサは、接続プロセスにあろうと脱接続プロセスにあろうと、異なる段階のプロセスを検出および確認する。例えば、接続プロセスの間、センサ300は、じょうご状の経路52、54で物体を同定するために使用され得る。この物体(例えば、チュービング50)が受容可能である場合、センサ300は、ガイド56、58を起動する。この物体が受容可能でない場合、ガイドは起動されない。従って、これらのセンサが外部の物体(および、さらなるフィンガー)を締め出すのを助ける。このセンサ300は、例えば、吸収センサであり得る。吸収センサは、色素を有するチュービング50を同定する。このようにして、センサが外部の物体を締め出すだけでなく、不適切なチュービングが充填されようとした場合、その外部の物質が同定される。上記のように、患者のカテーテル(またはこのカテーテルに接続された移動セット)は、患者に投与されるように、流体または血液に接続されたチューブとは異なるカラーであり得る。このようにして、吸収センサは、患者側および使い捨て可能(バッグ側)のシールされた端部チューブが経路52、54に充填されることを確実にするためにチェックする。使用者が2本のバッグ側のチューブを不適切に充填しようとした場合、センサ300は使用者に警告し、そしてこの使用者は充填手順を再試行しなければならない。この適用に依存して、センサは、チュービングの特定の組み合わせが、装置に入るのを可能にするように設定し得る。従って、センサ300は、不適切な充填に対して保護するために安全対策を提供する。

図4Gおよび4Hは、溶接検査プロセスを示す。冷却の際に、チューブホルダー70、72の第1の部分74、78が開口し、そしてガイド56、58は、プロセス後の検査のために、溶接検査センサ304に溶接部Wを移動する。この検査プロセスにより、例えば、溶接部の厚さおよび溶接部の高さを分析する。このデータを、受容可能または「良好な」溶接に関するプロフィールデータと比較する。好ましい実施形態において、センサ304は、CMOS画像センサである。しかし、他の類似の画像センサが使用され得る。プロセス後の検査が、この溶接部が「良好な」溶接であることを示す場合、蓋部24がロック解除され、そしてガイド56、58が開口する。使用者は、蓋部24を自由に開口し、そして接続されたチュービングを除去する。
図2Cおよび2Dは、一般的に、チューブ50を切断しそしてシールするための本発明方法を図示する。使用者が透析溶液バッグ、排出バッグ、血液バッグなどから切断することを望む場合、その使用者は、デバイス10の蓋24を開く。蓋24が開く場合、ガイド56、58は、開位置に自動的に移動する(図2C、参照番号56)。使用者は、チューブホルダ70、72の第2部分78、80の溝にチューブ50を配置する。この方法において、チューブ50は、漏斗状経路52、54に沿って延在する。この適用において、チューブホルダ70、72の第1部分74、78が閉じる必要はない。使用者は、蓋24を閉じ、従って、ガイド56、58を閉じ、これは、次いで、チュービング50を圧着させる。
図6は、本発明の実施形態に従う保護フィルム400を示す。保護フィルム400は、平凸レンズ210、212、金床112、およびライトパイプ220をカバーする。保護フィルム400は、薄い透明な材料(好ましくは、Mylar(登録商標)またはポリエチレン材料)である。フィルム400は、例えば、各切断適用の後に進むロール402上に提供される。フィルム400が進む場合、これは別のロール404に保存される。ロール402が使用された後、ロール402および404の両方が容易に捨てられ得る。レーザーエネルギーは、フィルム上に任意の加熱効果を有さない。フィルム400は、レーザービームの性質を変更しない。このように、フィルム400は、光学アセンブリ202を保護し、そしてこの光学アセンブリの洗浄を除く。使い捨て可能なレンズを進めるシステムを提供することによって、この目的を達成し得ることが理解される。例えば、光学アセンブリが金床112としてライトパイプ220を含む場合、光学アセンブリは、それぞれの使用後に回転するカートリッジ上の多くの使い捨て可能レンズであり得る。従って、使用される光学アセンブリは、捨てられ、そして新たな光学アセンブリがそれぞれの適用において使用される。
図7は、本発明の別の実施形態を図示し、プリズム206およびライトパイプ220はチューブホルダ70、72の間にないが、ハウジング12のフロント14の近くに位置する。単純化のために、図6は、コリメーター204とプリズム206との間に金床112を示す。しかし、接続プロセスの間、金床112は、一般的に、使用されない。その代わり、金床112は、ハウジング12内の一つの側18または20に対してオフである。切断プロセスの間、金床112は、レーザー200の前で移動する。従って、金床112は、コリメーター204に関して上記されるシステムと類似の追跡システムに載せられ得る。
図11aおよび11bは、単層チュービング600および複数層チュービング600をそれぞれ示し、これらは、本発明での使用に適切である。図11cは、2つ以上の流体通路を有し得る複数の管腔チュービングを示す。図11aおよび11bの単一管腔チュービングと同様に、図17〜19の複数管腔チュービングは、単層構造または複数層構造であり得、従って、以下の記載が単一管腔チュービングまたは複数管腔チュービングに適用されることが理解されるべきである。
図12は、チュービング600およびこのチュービングに密閉された末端キャップ610を示す。末端キャップフィルム610は、チュービング600と接着的に適合可能であるチュービング接触表面611を有する、単層または多層ポリマーフィルムである。この末端キャップフィルムは、押出し成形、共有押出し成形、押出しラミネーション、ラミネーション、射出成形などを含む任意の適切なポリマー処理技術により形成され得る。末端キャップフィルム610は、本発明の好ましい形態では、チュービングの末端表面に対して、30psiの破裂強度に耐える十分な強度で取付けられる。破裂強度は、チュービングフローパス613を介して圧縮空気を適用して、チュービングまたは末端キャップが破裂または漏出するまでチュービングを圧縮することにより測定される。末端キャップ610は、チュービングの末端の寸法を超える寸法であり得、そして過剰な材料は、チュービングの末端の周りに巻きつけられ、ここで、この材料は、チュービングの側壁602に取り付けられて、上で言及したドラム実施形態を形成する。チュービングの末端の寸法に適合するように、キャップ610を図12に示されるような寸法にし、そして有意な量の過剰な材料なしに、チュービングの末端部分にのみ取り付けることもまた可能である。
図13は、向かい合ったチュービング取り付け部分622、チュービング止め624、およびこれらを通る流体経路626を有するカプラー620を示す。図14に示されるように、このカプラーは、たとえ、第1のチュービングおよび第2のチュービングが、互いに不適合性である場合でも、第1のチュービングを第2のチュービングに接続するために用いられ得る。図14に示されるアセンブリは、以下でより詳細に議論される。チュービング取り付け部分622は、遠位端へのチュービングの取り付けを容易にするために、この遠位端にテーパ状部分を有する。カプラー620の表面は、チュービングの取り付けを容易にするために、テクスチャード加工され得るか、またはマット仕上げを有し得る。チュービング取り付け部分622は、相対的に同じ長さを有することが示されるが、本発明の範囲から逸脱することなく、異なる長さを有し得る。チュービング取り付け部分622は、チュービングとチュービング取り付け部分622との間の締りばめを熱集中または増強するために、リッジまたは他の隆起を有し得ることもまた意図される。
図14は、互いに接続され、そしてカプラー620により流体連絡して配置される、第1のレーザー溶接可能なチュービング600、および第2のチュービング630を有するチュービングアセンブリ628を示す。この第2のチュービング630は、チュービング600の材料と不適合性の材料から作製される。不適合性の意味は、材料が、導電性または誘導性の熱シーリング技術を利用する固定様式で、互いに直接連結され得ないことである。このアセンブリ628は、特に、レーザー溶接溶接可能な上記の非PVCチュービング600と、流体送達セットまたは腹膜透析セットからのPVCチュービング630を接合するのに十分に適している。レーザー溶接チュービング600は、上で議論したレーザー溶接デバイス10を用いる患者の運搬セットに接続され得る。
Claims (24)
- チュービングアセンブリであって、以下:
第一のポリマーブレンドから作製された第一の層を有する側壁を有するチュービングであって、該第一のポリマーブレンドは、第一の成分および第二の成分を含有し、該第一の成分は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームに対して、熱的に応答性ではない材料の成分であり、そして0.915g/cc未満の密度を有するエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマーであるポリオレフィン、ポリプロピレン、およびスチレンと炭化水素とのコポリマーならびにこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択され;該第二の成分は、重量基準で20ppm〜2000ppmの量の水性媒体中で不溶性の色素であり;該色素が、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有し;そして該第一のブレンドは、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームへの曝露に対して、15秒未満のレーザービームへの曝露の際に融解するに十分に熱応答性である、チュービング;ならびに

を備える、アセンブリ。 - 前記ポリマー材料が、単層構造である、請求項1に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリマー材料が、多層構造である、請求項1に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリマー材料が、以下:
第三の成分であって、(1)0.915g/cc未満の密度を有する、エチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマー、(2)エチレンと低級アルキルアクリレートとのコポリマー、(3)エチレンと低級アルキル置換されたアルキルアクリレートとのコポリマー、および(4)イオン性ポリマーからなる群より選択される、第三の成分;ならびに
第四の成分であって、(1)プロピレン含有ポリマー、(2)ブテン含有ポリマー、(3)ポリメチルペンテン含有ポリマー、(4)環状オレフィン含有ポリマー、および(5)架橋多環式炭化水素含有ポリマー、からなる群より選択される、第四の成分、
を含有する第二のブレンドである、請求項1に記載のアセンブリ。 - 前記第二のブレンドが、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有するレーザー応答性材料の第五の成分をさらに含有する、請求項4に記載のアセンブリ。
- 医療流体送達アセンブリであって、以下:
治療流体を貯蔵するための、コンテナ;および
非PVC含有ポリマーブレンドの層を有する側壁を有する、レーザー溶接可能なチュービングであって、該ポリマーブレンドは、第一の成分および第二の成分のポリマーブレンドであり、該第一の成分は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームに対して、熱的に応答性ではない材料の成分であり、そして0.915g/cc未満の密度を有するエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマーであるポリオレフィン、ポリプロピレン、およびスチレンと炭化水素とのコポリマーならびにこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択され;該第二の成分は、重量基準で20ppm〜2000ppmの量の水性媒体中で不溶性であり、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する色素であり;そして該層は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームへの曝露に対して、15秒未満のレーザービームへの曝露の際に該側壁の一部を融解するに十分に熱応答性である、チュービング、

該レーザー溶接可能なチュービングが、該コンテナに接続されている、アセンブリ。 - 前記治療流体が、腹膜透析溶液、使用済みの腹膜透析溶液、栄養溶液、血液、血液成分、代用血液、およびIV溶液からなる群より選択される、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 請求項6に記載のアセンブリであって、前記チュービングの端部に流体密シールを形成する、エンドキャップフィルムをさらに備え、該エンドキャップフィルムが、(i)第三の成分であって、(1)0.915g/cc未満の密度を有する、エチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマー、(2)エチレンと低級アルキルアクリレートとのコポリマー、(3)エチレンと低級アルキル置換されたアルキルアクリレートとのコポリマー、および(4)イオン性ポリマーからなる群より選択される、第三の成分;(ii)第四の成分であって、(1)プロピレン含有ポリマー、(2)ブテン含有ポリマー、(3)ポリメチルペンテン含有ポリマー、(4)環状オレフィン含有ポリマー、および(5)架橋多環式炭化水素含有ポリマー、からなる群より選択される、第四の成分;および(iii)第五の成分であって、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する200ppm〜2000ppmの量の色素である、第五の成分を含む第二のブレンドから作製されたポリマー材料である、アセンブリ。
- 前記ポリオレフィンが、2〜20個の炭素を有するα−オレフィンのモノマーから得られる、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリオレフィンが、プロピレン含有ポリマーおよびエチレン含有ポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項9に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリオレフィンが、ポリプロピレンのホモポリマーおよびポリプロピレンのコポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項9に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリプロピレンのコポリマーが、ランダムコポリマーおよびブロックコポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項11に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリプロピレンのコポリマーが、プロピレンモノマーを、2〜20個の炭素を有するα−オレフィンと重合させることによって得られる、請求項12に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記ポリプロピレンのコポリマーが、エチレンとのランダムコポリマーおよびエチレンとのブロックコポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項12に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記第一の成分が、第一のポリプロピレン、およびスチレンと炭化水素とのコポリマーの第二のブレンドである、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記スチレンと炭化水素とのコポリマーが、スチレンと炭化水素とのランダムコポリマー、およびスチレンと炭化水素とのブロックコポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項15に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記スチレンと炭化水素とのブロックコポリマーが、ジブロックコポリマー、トリブロックコポリマー、マルチブロックコポリマーおよびスターブロックコポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項16に記載のアセンブリ。
- チュービングアセンブリであって、以下:
ポリ塩化ビニルを含有する第一の材料の、第一のチュービング;
該第一のチュービングとは十分に直接結合しない、第二の材料の第二のチュービングであって、該第二の材料は、第一の成分および第二の成分のポリマーブレンドを含有し、該第一の成分は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームに対して、熱的に応答性ではない材料の成分であり、そして該第一の成分が10%〜50%のポリプロピレンを含み;該第二の成分は、水性媒体中で不溶性であり、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する色素であり;そして該層は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームへの曝露に対して、15秒未満のレーザービームへの曝露の際に融解するに十分に熱応答性である、第二のチュービング;ならびに
該第一のチュービングを該第二のチュービングと流体連絡させて接合する、結合器、
を備える、アセンブリ。 - 医療流体送達チュービングセットアセンブリであって、以下:
治療流体の供給源と流体連絡している、第一のPVCチュービング;
ブレンドの層を有する非PVC材料の第二のチュービングであって、該層は、第一の成分および第二の成分を含有し、該第一の成分は、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームに対して、熱的に応答性ではない材料の成分であり、そして該第一の成分が10%〜50%のポリプロピレンを含み、該第二の成分は、ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する色素であり、該層が、700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームへの曝露に対して、15秒未満のレーザービームへの曝露の際に融解するに十分に熱応答性である、第二のチュービング;
該治療流体によって処置される患者と流体連絡している、第三の非PVCチュービングであって、該第二のチュービングの第一の端部に接続されている、第三の非PVCチュービング;ならびに
該第一のチュービングの第二の端部を該第二のチュービングに接続するための、結合器、
を備える、アセンブリ。 - レーザー溶接可能な物品を製造するためのポリマーブレンドであって、以下:
700nm〜1500nmの波長範囲内の波長を有するレーザービームに対して、熱的に応答性ではない材料の成分であり、そして0.915g/cc未満の密度を有するエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマーであるポリオレフィン、ポリプロピレン、およびスチレンと炭化水素とのコポリマーならびにこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される、第一の成分;
ポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタンおよびトリフェニルメタン、ならびに金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する色素の第二の成分であって、水性媒体中で不溶性であり、そして該ポリマーブレンド中において重量基準で20ppm〜2000ppmの量で存在する、第二の成分

ポリマー成分とポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタン、トリフェニルメタンおよび金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する重量基準で20ppm〜2000ppmの量の色素との第一のブレンドを含む、層であって、ここで、該ポリマー成分が、99重量%〜50重量%の0.915g/cc未満の密度を有する、エチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマー、および50%〜1%のプロピレン含有ポリマーの第二のブレンドである、層;

ポリマー成分とポリメチン、ポルフィン、インダントレン、キノン、ジフェニルメタン、トリフェニルメタンおよび金属錯化ジチオール色素からなる群から選択される官能基を有する色素との第一のブレンドの層であって、ここで、該ポリマー成分が、35重量%〜45重量%の、0.900g/cc未満の密度を有する第一のエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマー、20%〜30%の、0.900g/ccより高いが0.910g/cc未満の密度を有する第二のエチレンとα−オレフィンとのコポリマー、および30%〜40%のポリプロピレンを含有する第二のブレンドである、層、
