Claims (1)
- 外部から入力された表示データのヒストグラムを解析し、表示画像の明るさを切換える手段と、前記表示データの値に基づき、バックライトの輝度を切換える手段を有する表示駆動回路であって、
前記表示データについて前記ヒストグラムを計測し、所定の表示データに対応する前記ヒストグラムの値を検出するヒストグラム計数部と、
前記所定の表示データに対応する前記ヒストグラムの値に応じて、表示データを伸張、または伸縮する表示データ変換回路とを有し、
前記表示データは、1画面に同時に表示される動画像表示領域の表示データと静止画像表示領域の表示データとを含む1フレームのデータであり、
前記動画像表示領域の表示データと前記静止画像表示領域の表示データとを1画面に同時に表示する場合に、前記動画像表示領域の表示データに対しては第1の伸張率で伸張または伸縮し、前記静止画像表示領域の表示データに対しては前記第1の伸張率とは異なる第2の伸張率で伸張または伸縮するように、1画面内で2種類の伸張率を設定できるものであり、
前記表示データ変換回路は、前記所定の表示データのヒストグラムの値を取得する前に、予め前記動画像表示領域の表示データを伸張する回路を含み、
前記静止画像表示領域の表示データについては、不変であり、前記動画像表示領域の表示データについては、前記回路で予め表示輝度の高い方向に伸張されることを特徴とする表示駆動回路。
