【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、フィルターがフィルター巻紙で巻かれたフィルター煙草であって、フィルター巻紙の内側が金属、特にアルミニウムでコーティング処理されたフィルター煙草に関する。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
ニコチンや一酸化炭素等の煙成分を減少させる煙草の開発は、国の法律による規制、喫煙者の要請及び健康への関心の高まり等で押し進められてきた。

普通、煙草の巻紙は通気性に優れており、燃焼性が高く、さらに打抜微小孔の提供によって内側のフィルターの機能を促進させている。それらの特徴で喫煙時の煙の主要成分は希釈され、濃度は低減される。優れた成分吸着保持作用を提供するフィルター材料の使用は有害な煙成分の減少をさらに促進するが、煙草の風味に関する喫煙者の要求を全く無視することもできない。

ＤＥ３０３８０９３Ａ１、ＷＯ８９/０３１８３Ａ１及びＣＨ３４３８６５は煙草フィルター内に金属物質を介在させた煙草フィルターを開示する。しかし、フィルター製造コストが増大し、その作用効果も明確には説明されていない。

【課題を解決するための手段】
従って、本発明は、フィルターをフィルター巻紙で巻いたフィルター煙草であって、フィルター巻紙の内側を金属物質でコーティング処理し、外気をフィルター巻紙を通してフィルター内に浸透ささせる煙草の提供である。本発明によれば、コーティングはフィルター巻紙の一部のみに適用されるため、外気は巻紙を透過してフィルター内に容易に浸透できる。

金属コーティングは巻紙の一部に粒子形態及び/又は平状の小型金属薄箔を熱作用等で巻紙に接着させることで提供される。驚くべきことに、フィルター巻紙の部分的金属コーティング処理によって煙草の煙に含有される一酸化炭素が効果的に減少する。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の特徴のさらなる説明を以下で提供する。図１は本発明の１実施例を示す。複数本の縦軸方向に提供されたアルミ細帯は、６０００ＣＵの通気性を有した煙草フィルター巻紙用の多孔質紙（Papierfabrik Wattens GmbH, QNo 27400）に熱フォイル処理で接着されている。フィルター巻紙の幅は２６.５mmであり、アルミ細帯の幅は１mmであり、アルミ細帯間の間隔は１mmであった。フィルターは従来方法で約１０００mのリールから提供された。図１はフィルター１、フィルター巻紙２、先端巻紙３及びアルミ細帯４を含んで構成された煙草フィルターを図示する。

性能比較のために、本発明のアルミ細帯４が含まれないこと以外は前述と同じである従来煙草フィルターが準備された。本発明の煙草フィルターと従来煙草フィルターは同一条件で吸煙試験された。最終的に吸出される煙が含有する一酸化炭素量は両方共低減されたが、両者の効果の比較を表１に示す。

図２は本発明の別実施例を図示する。アセテート系フィルター１と先端巻紙３は前実施例と同じであった。フィルター巻紙２はアルミ粒子でコーティング処理されているが、多孔質状態にて提供された。多孔質アルミコーティングはフィルター巻紙の通気性を阻害せず、十分な量の空気が巻紙を通して内側のフィルター内に侵入する。

アルミ層５の有効性を示すために、アルミコーティング５以外は同一条件の煙草フィルターが準備された。図１の場合と同様に両者は同一条件で比較実験された。測定された煙成分の総合的減少及び一酸化炭素の減少は前実施例の場合と同様であった。

本発明の効果の科学的根拠の充分な説明にはさらなる研究が必要であろう。理由の１つは金属内に一酸化炭素が吸収されるからであろう。

Claims (4)

  1. フィルターがフィルター巻紙で巻かれたフィルター煙草であって、該フィルター巻紙は先端巻紙でさらに巻かれており、該フィルター巻紙の内側は金属で部分的にコーティング処理されており、非コーティング部分は通気性があることを特徴とするフィルター煙草。
  2. 金属コーティングはアルミニウムであることを特徴とする請求項１記載のフィルター煙草。
  3. 金属コーティングは複数本の軸方向細帯であることを特徴とする請求項１または２に記載のフィルター煙草。
  4. 金属コーティングは粒子形態で提供され、多孔質であることを特徴とする請求項１から３のいずれかに記載のフィルター煙草。
