Description
Claims (7)
- 内燃機関(1)の排気管(3)に配置されたNOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の再生方法において、
NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の出力側で排気ガス中の窒素酸化物濃度が前記NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の再生を開始する予め決定可能な閾値を超えた場合には、前記内燃機関(1)で燃焼された空気/燃料混合物の空気/燃料比(λM )が一定値をとる第1の再生モードが実行され、
前記第1の再生モードの後には第2の再生モードが実行され、
前記第2の再生モードでは、前記空気/燃料比(λM )の時間変化率(dλM/dt)が、前記NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)を流れる前記排気ガスの質量流量に応じて、又は前記排気ガスの前記質量流量と関連する内燃機関動作変数に応じて設定されるように、前記空気/燃料比(λM )が可変に設定されることを特徴とするNOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の再生方法。 - 前記第1の再生モードは、予め決定可能な第1の時間後に終了されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の再生方法。
- 前記第2の再生モードは、予め決定可能な第2の時間後に終了されることを特徴とする、請求項1あるいは2に記載の再生方法。
- 前記第1と第2の再生モードに加えて第3の再生モードを設け、第3の再生モードでは、前記空気/燃料比(λM )の前記時間変化率(dλM/dt)が、排気ガスの前記質量流量に応じて、又は排気ガスの前記質量流量と関連する内燃機関動作変数に応じて、及び前記NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の前記出力側の前記排気管(3)に配置されたラムダプローブ(6)の測定値に応じて設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の再生方法。
- 前記第3の再生モードは、前記第2の再生モードが終了した直後に実行されることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の再生方法。
- 前記空気/燃料比(λM )の設定は、予め決定可能な下限値(λmin )及び予め決定可能な上限値(λmax )を有する値範囲に限定されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の再生方法。
- 前記NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の前記再生を開始する前記閾値が、予め決められており、又は前記空気/燃料比(λM )の前記時間変化率(dλM/dt)が、前記NOx吸蔵触媒コンバータ(4)の経時変化を表す経時変化係数に応じて設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の再生方法。
