Description
混合試薬が要求されているかを確め、
次に、その使用が要求される前に、その混合試薬を作成する。
少なくとも1つのグループのスライドを1つのバッチとしてグループ化し、
混合試薬がそのバッチの中でいずれかのスライドに加えられるべきであるかを確かめ、
そのスライドに前記混合試薬を加える前に、前記混合試薬の作成を予定表に入れる。
(1)(混合試薬を生成する必要性をあらかじめ省くことにより)試験をする時間を短縮すること。
(2)(各スライドに加えられるプロトコルの決定の自動的性質により)要求される混合試薬の種類と容量の確実性を提供すること。
(3)混合試薬の廃棄を減少すること。
(4)(混合が実行の前ではなく、実行の後に部分的に起こり、混合試薬が作られた時刻を機器が正確に認定することにより)使用される混合試薬が新鮮であることを保証すること。
(5)処理モジュール10が(バルクの試薬を除いて)混合試薬(複数)の各成分をスキャンするとき、混合試薬と追跡して、したがって、品質の問題があるとき、各成分がどのバッチから由来するものかを知ること。
(6)処理モジュール10に同じ作業を何度も行わせることにより試験結果の変わりやすさを減少して、実験室内での人間による変わりやすさを減少すること。
1つのバッチ内での予定表作成に関連して、予定表作成の詳細が、2003年2月24日に提出されたオーストラリアの仮特許出願(予定表作成方法)に開示されており、この引用によりここに組み込まれる。
(1)各操作の時間
(2)1つの操作についての可能な開放時間
各操作時間は、2つの時間、すなわち使用時間と開放時間を含む。
(1)使用時間は、共用資源が使用中である時間である。典型的には、これは、ロボットアームであるが、ボンド(Bond)機器の他のハードウェアであってもよい。
(2)自由時間は、操作の時間が完了していないが共用資源が使用中でない時間である。典型的には、これは、試薬が加えられた後での試料の定温放置の間である。
開放時間:次の「ブロック」が遅延できる最大の規定の時間。
こうして、システムは、スライドトレイ1のためのプロトコルを生成する。このプロトコルは、それぞれ多数の操作からなる多数のブロックからなり、各ステップは使用時間を有する。ブロックは開放時間により分離される。開放時間が最大時間として格納され、それは、その最大時間とゼロの間の任意の時間である。プロトコルにおいて使用される実際の開放時間の量は、予定表が最終的に決定されるまで、わからない。
混合試薬は、作成された後に、試料に加えられる。残ったまたは無効になった混合試薬はアスピレータにより吸い上げられ廃棄される。次に、バイアル132は洗浄できる。要求された試薬が投与された後に残っている作成された試薬を排出することにより、洗浄が行われる。排出はピペット28で行われ、排出された流体は内部が鉛で張られたバルクの廃棄物容器の中に導かれる。実質的に空になると、すすぎサイクルが行われる。このすすぎサイクルは、洗浄液を使用できる。洗浄液は、たとえば、バイアル132の中に投与されるIMSなどのアルコールを含むことがある。洗浄液はつぎにピペット28により排出される。2以上のすすぎサイクルを行うことができる。最後のすすぎの後に洗浄液を除いた後で、残っている洗浄液は蒸発させられて、バイアルを完全に空にする。
Claims (10)
- 自動化生物学的反応装置において試薬を混合する方法であって、
顕微鏡スライドの上の組織サンプルに添加されるべき複数の試薬を識別するステップ、
前記顕微鏡スライドに関連したプロトコル情報を確かめ、1つの試薬容器からの1つの試薬を他の試薬と混合する混合ステップを含む、企画される複数のステップを決定するステップ、
前記混合ステップを添加ステップの前に予定表に入れるステップ、
前記予定表にしたがって、前記混合ステップにおいて前記1つの試薬と他の試薬を投与する投与ステップを含み、
前記予定表にしたがって、前記添加ステップにおいて前記組織サンプルに前記混合ステップで混合された試薬を添加する
試薬混合方法。 - 前記投与ステップは、前記試薬および他の試薬を混合用バイアルの中に置くステップを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載された試薬混合方法。
- 前記試薬及び他の試薬を混合用バイアルの中に置く前記ステップにおいて投与装置を用い、この投与装置を用いて混合用バイアルの中で前記試薬及び他の試薬を混合するステップを含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載された試薬混合方法。
- 前記混合ステップは、前記試薬及び他の試薬の少なくとも一部を、前記混合用バイアルから前記投与装置に回収し、前記混合用バイアルに前記一部を再投与することにより達成されることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載された試薬混合方法。
- さらに、前記投与装置を用いて顕微鏡スライドの上の組織サンプルに前記混合用バイアルの中の前記試薬及び他の試薬を投与するステップを含むことを特徴とする、請求項3または4に記載された試薬混合方法。
- 前記試薬及び他の試薬を混合用バイアルの中に置くステップは、前記混合用バイアルの上の識別子を読むステップを含むことを特徴とする、請求項2〜5のいずれかに記載された試薬混合方法。
- さらに、前記混合用バイアルの上の前記識別子に基づいて前記混合用バイアルが交換されるべきか否かを決定することを含む、請求項6に記載された試薬混合方法。
- さらに、1つのバッチに集められる複数の顕微鏡スライドのそれぞれに前記混合ステップで混合された試薬を添加する複数の添加ステップを予定表に入れるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載された試薬混合方法。
- 前記複数の試薬を識別するステップは、前記顕微鏡スライドに関連される識別子に基づくことを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載された試薬混合方法。
- 複数の顕微鏡スライドの上の複数の組織サンプルに複数の試薬を添加するための自動化生物学的反応装置であって、
前記複数の試薬のための複数の試薬容器と、
前記複数の試薬容器から前記複数の組織サンプルに流体を投与する投与装置を備える投与用ロボットアーム、
制御コンピュータ、および
混合用バイアルを含み、
前記投与装置は、前記制御コンピュータにより制御されて、前記複数の試薬の中から2以上の試薬を前記混合用バイアルに投与して前記2以上の試薬を混合し、次に、前記混合された試薬を前記混合用バイアルから前記複数の組織サンプルの少なくとも1つに投与する、
