Description
本発明は、少なくとも1つの本体と、前記本体への流入ガス流の入口のための少なくとも1つの第1開口部と、前記本体からの流出ガス流の出口のための少なくとも1つの第2開口部とを備え、前記本体には隣接する通路内のガス流の間の熱交換を可能にするように配置された複数のガス流通路が設けられている、ガス流を処理するための装置に関する。本発明は、前記装置が前記ガス流通路に流入ガス流を分配するよう、前記第1開口部およびガス流通路に連通する少なくとも1つの分配部分と、前記ガス流通路を含み、主に熱交換を可能にし、ガスの組成の変換を生じさせるようになっている少なくとも1つのガス流通路部分とを備えたことを特徴とする。この特徴の有利な効果は、改良されたガス流分配が得られ、これによってガス処理装置内の潜在的に利用可能な表面をより効率的に利用し、かつ構造体内での圧力低下を小さくすることが可能となることである。前記表面をより効率的に利用することにより、例えばガスの更なる変換(例えば浄化)の達成や、装置をより小さくすることによる装置に必要な空間の低減、また所定のレベルの変換のための触媒材料を減少することによる装置の安価化が可能となる。
図1は本発明の有利な第1実施形態にかかわるガス処理装置を製造し、組み立てるための方法の一例を概略図で示している。ストリップ1はジグザグ構造体2に折りたたまれている。ジグザグ構造体2内で互いに対向する2つの折りたたみ部10の間で距離が得られるよう、ジグザグ構造体2の折りたたみ部10の間に波形プレート9の形態をしたスペーサ手段が配置されている。この距離によって折りたたみ部10の間にガス流を供給できるようになっている。波形プレート9はスペーサ手段から自由ないくらかの中心空間を残すように配置されている。この自由空間は図2を参照して後述する分配部分26の一部を形成する。このジグザグ構造体2は、例えば装置の用途に応じて異なる幾何学的形状の本体に形成できる。図1では、ジグザグ構造体2は束状の本体3を形成している。この本体3は本体3を囲むケーシング6内に挿入されており、ケーシング6には本体3に流入ガス流が進入するための第1開口部4および本体3から流出ガス流が出るための第2開口部5が設けられている。シール7はガスが本体3の下方または上方を流れることを防止している。本体3がガスの組成を変換できるようにするために、ガス流に接触する本体3の表面の少なくとも一部を触媒材料で被覆することが好ましい。

- 前記入口ガス流通路と前記内側キャビティは、壁部により遮断されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- 前記入口ガス流通路に対し開口しているチャンネルのセットと、前記出口ガス流通路に対し開口しているチャンネルのセットが、共通壁を用いて形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに1に記載の装置。
- 前記壁構造体が、前記出口ガス流通路に対し開口している前記チャンネルのセットを形成する複数の第3チャンネルを形成していることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記分配部分は、少なくとも1つの所定の方向に形状が変化しない横断面を有することを特徴とする、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記分配部分が押し出し手段によって製造されていることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記分配部分および前記ガス流通路部分がセラミック材料から製造されており、前記分配部分と前記ガス流通部分が焼結手段により互いに接合されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至7のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置が少なくとも1つのフィルタ部分を備え、該フィルタ部分はガスから粒子を除去するようになっていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至8のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガス流に接触する前記本体の表面の少なくとも一部が触媒材料によって被覆されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至9のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガス流に接触する前記本体の表面の少なくとも一部が吸着/脱着剤によって被覆されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至10のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記分配部分が個々の前記ガス流通路内に流入ガス流を分配させるようになっていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至11のいずれか1に記載の装置。
- 前記装置が前記本体内のガス流の温度を制御するための手段を備え、
該温度制御手段が、
前記本体内に配置された熱発生器と、
前記本体内に配置された冷却フランジと、
冷却空気を前記本体内に導入するための配置手段と、
前記流入ガス流の組成を制御するためのシステムのうちの1つまたはいくつかを備えることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至12のいずれか1に記載の装置。 - 前記流入ガス流の組成を制御するための前記システムが、
酸化種として空気を前記流入ガス流内に導入するための配置手段および
還元種として炭化水素を前記流入ガス流内に導入するための配置手段の一方または双方を備えることを特徴とする、請求項13記載の装置。 - 前記装置が燃焼機関に関連するように配置されており、流入ガス流の組成を制御するための前記システムが、前記燃焼機関の作動を制御するための配置手段を備え、前記燃焼機関の作動が前記流入ガス流の組成に影響することを特徴とする、請求項13記載の装置。
- 前記装置が、自動車用途において、内燃機関からの排ガスを浄化するようになっていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至15のいずれか1に記載の装置。
