Description
Claims (19)
- ディスプレイピクセルのアレイを有するアクティブマトリクスエレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置において、前記ピクセルのそれぞれは、
エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子と、
前記ディスプレイ素子に電流を通じさせるためのドライブトランジスタを含むアクティブマトリクス回路と、
基板とを有し、
前記基板の上に前記アクティブマトリクス回路が配置され、前記アクティブマトリクス回路の上にエレクトロルミネセント層が配置され、
前記ドライブトランジスタ及び前記ディスプレイ素子は、制御可能な電流を前記ディスプレイ素子に供給するか又は前記ディスプレイ素子から引き出すための電源線と、共通電位線との間に直列に接続され、
前記電源線及び前記共通電位線は、それぞれ、前記アレイの全てのピクセル間で共有されるシート電極を有し、
前記電源線は、前記基板と前記アクティブマトリクス回路との間に導電性シートを有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記ディスプレイは、前記基板を通過して後方に発光し、前記導電性シートが透明である、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項2に記載の装置において、前記透明な導電性シートと前記アクティブマトリクス回路との間に絶縁層が設けられ、前記絶縁層を通じて接触部分が設けられる、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記ディスプレイは、前記基板から離れる方向に上方に発光する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項4に記載の装置において、前記導電性シートが金属シートである、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項5に記載の装置において、更に、前記基板と前記アクティブマトリクス層との間に、前記第1の金属層から絶縁された第2の金属層を有し、前記第2の金属層は、前記共通電位線に接続される、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項6に記載の装置において、前記共通電位線は、前記エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子のアノードを形成するとともに前記エレクトロルミネセント層の上に配置される透明な導電層を有し、前記第2の金属層は、前記アクティブマトリクス回路を通じて延在する接触部分によって前記共通電位線と接触する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項6に記載の装置において、前記共通電位線は、前記エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子のカソードを形成するとともに前記エレクトロルミネセント層の上に配置される、透明な導電層及び金属層を有し、前記第2の金属層は、前記アクティブマトリクス回路を通じて延在する接触部分によって前記共通電位線と接触する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項7又は8に記載の装置において、前記基板の上に前記第2の金属層が配置され、前記第2の金属層の上に第1の絶縁層が配置され、前記第1の絶縁層の上に前記金属シートが配置される、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項9に記載の装置において、前記金属シートと前記アクティブマトリクス回路との間に第2の絶縁層が設けられ、前記第2の絶縁層を通じて接触部分が設けられる、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項9又は10に記載の装置において、前記第2の金属層を前記共通電位線と接続する接触部分が、前記金属シートの開口を通じて延在する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項5に記載の装置において、前記共通電位線は、前記エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子のアノードを形成するとともに前記エレクトロルミネセント層の上に配置されるITO層を有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項12に記載の装置において、前記金属シートと前記アクティブマトリクス回路との間に絶縁層が設けられ、前記絶縁層を通じて接触部分が設けられる、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項4に記載の装置において、前記基板は、前記電源線を形成する金属シートを有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項4、5、6又は8に記載の装置において、前記エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子のアノードは前記基板に隣接し、前記発光は前記エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ素子のカソードを通過する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項15に記載の装置において、前記カソードは前記共通電位線を形成する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項15又は16に記載の装置において、前記カソードは、第1の厚さの光学的に透明な導電層と、低仕事関数金属を有する第2のより小さい厚さの第2の層とを有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項1乃至17の何れか1項に記載の装置において、前記アクティブマトリクス回路は、更に、前記ピクセルのそれぞれについて、データ信号線と前記ピクセルへの入力との間に接続されたアドレストランジスタを有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項18に記載の装置において、前記アクティブマトリクス回路は、更に、前記ピクセルのそれぞれについて、前記電源線と前記ドライブトランジスタのゲートとの間に接続された蓄積キャパシタを有する、エレクトロルミネセントディスプレイ装置。
