Description
厳密には、当該発明は厚みが少なくとも8分の1インチ(3.2mm)であるマトリクス状に絡み合った硫酸カルシウム二水塩の結晶体により形成される基体部と、ボードの少なくとも一面に形成された表面素材、及び基体部と表面素材を通して分散されたピリチオン塩(pyrithione salt)からなる防カビ石膏ボードを提供する。
焼石膏と焼石膏を水和させて硫酸カルシウム二水塩を形成するのに必要充分以上の水、及び水溶性ピリチオン塩とからスラリーが形成され、その後に当該スラリーは、シート状の表面素材に堆積される。表面素材上のスラリーはボード状に成形され、焼石膏が水の一部と反応してマトリクス状に絡み合って硬化した石膏の結晶体を含む基体部を形成するのに充分な条件下に保持される。ボードを加熱することにより、焼石膏と反応しなかった水分は蒸発される。この製法によりできた製品は前記の当該発明の更に他の態様である。
ピリチオンは2mercaptopyridine−N−oxide、2−pyridinethiol−1−oxide(CAS登録番号:1121−31−9)、1−hydroxypyridine−2-thioneや1hydroxy−2(1H)−pyridinethione(CAS登録番号:1121−30−8)など、複数の名称で知られている。ピリチオンナトリウム(CAS登録番号:3811−73−2)として知られるこの物質のナトリウム誘導体(C5H4NOSNa)は特に有効な塩の一例である。
実用的なピリチオン塩は水溶性が非常に高い。水温25℃、pH7の水に対する重量百分率ベースで溶解度を計測した場合、ピリチオン塩の溶解度は溶解した塩の濃度が最終溶液の少なくとも0.1%になるほど高い。
当該発明で使用される加圧紙は一段又はそれ以上の層を持つ。複数の層を持つ加圧紙は、一段またはそれ以上の層が他の層と一点以上の観点で互いに異なっているのが適当であると予想される。また、紙以外の表面素材の当該発明への適応も考えられる。
当該発明の好適な実施例は、防カビ性の耐水性石膏ボードを構成する。耐水性石膏ボード、通称「グリーンボード」は、当業者によく知られている。耐水性石膏ボードの一実施例は、参考のため引用する米国特許2,432,963号に開示されている。
二種類の市販試料は実施例2の工程に従って準備されたが、カバーシートは防カビ剤で前処理されなかった。対照試料2は、表3記述のB133組成に準じて作成された。試験試料T2の基本組成は同様に構成されたが、オマダインナトリウムは濃度が200ppmになるように2ポンド(907g)/MSFの割合で添加された。カバーシートは未処理で、どちらの試料もワックス乳剤は使用しなかった。テストは上述のD3273試験法に準じて実施された。初めの2週間のテスト結果は下記に示す。
Claims (16)
- 焼石膏と全ての焼石膏を水和させて硫酸カルシウム二水塩を形成するのに必要充分以上の水、及び水溶性ピリチオン塩からなるスラリーを形成する工程、
シート状の表面素材上に当該スラリーを堆積する工程、
該表面素材上の該スラリーをボード状に成形する工程、
該焼石膏が水の一部と反応して、マトリクス状に絡み合って硬化した石膏の結晶体により構成される基体部を形成するのに充分な条件下に当該スラリーを保持する工程、及び
当該ボードを加熱することにより、該焼石膏と反応しなかった水分を蒸発させる工程、
とからなる防カビ石膏製品の製造方法。 - 当該ピリチオン塩がピリチオンナトリウムよりなる事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該スラリーがさらに硬化促進剤、硬化遅延剤、泡水溶液、分散剤、界面活性剤、及び澱粉の内、少なくとも一つを含有する事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該表面素材が前記スラリー堆積以前に防カビ剤を含有しない事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該表面素材が紙製である事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該紙が、多層加圧紙である事を特徴とする請求項5に記載の製造方法。
- 当該スラリーが、当該焼石膏1重量部に対し少なくとも水0.6重量部を含有する事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該ピリチオン塩が、ナトリウム塩と同等物として、且つ当該焼石膏の重量を基本とする計算に基づいて、少なくとも100ppmの濃度で当該スラリー内に存在する事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該ボード成形工程以前に、さらに第2の表面素材用のシートを当該スラリー上に載せる事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 当該焼石膏が、ベータ硫酸カルシウム半水塩からなる事を特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記加熱する工程では、温度149℃以上の炉中で当該ボードを加熱することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 防カビ石膏ボードにおいて、
当該防カビ石膏ボードが、複数の面を持ち、厚みが少なくとも3.2mmあるマトリクス状に絡み合った硫酸カルシウム二水塩の結晶体により形成される基体部、少なくとも当該ボードの一面に貼り付けられた表面素材、及び当該基体部と当該表面素材の全体に分散されたピリチオン塩からなる事を特徴とする防カビ石膏ボード。 - 上記表面素材が紙製である事を特徴とする請求項12に記載の防カビ石膏ボード。
- 当該基体部の少なくとも二面上に表面素材を有している事を特徴とする請求項12に記載の防カビ石膏ボード。
- 当該防カビ石膏ボードがさらに硬化促進剤、硬化遅延剤、気泡導入剤、分散剤、界面活性剤、及び澱粉の内、少なくとも一つを含有する事を特徴とする請求項12に記載の防カビ石膏ボード。
- 焼石膏と全ての焼石膏を水和させて硫酸カルシウム二水塩を形成するのに必要充分以上の水、及び水溶性ピリチオン塩からなるスラリーを形成する工程、
シート状の表面素材上に当該スラリーを堆積する工程、
該表面素材上の該スラリーをボード状に成形する工程、
該焼石膏が水の一部と反応して、マトリクス状に絡み合って硬化した石膏の結晶体により構成される基体部を形成するのに充分な条件下に当該スラリーを保持する工程、及び
当該ボードを加熱することにより、該焼石膏と反応しなかった水分を蒸発させる工程、
とからなる製造方法により形成された事を特徴とする防カビ石膏ボード。
