Claims (4)
- 接合すべき複数の部材の板状部を重ね合わせ、該重合せ部の一方の側の板状部表面に対して、回転せしめられる摩擦攪拌接合工具のショルダ面を押し当てるようにする一方、該ショルダ面から突出するプローブを差し込み、摩擦攪拌接合を行なうことにより、該プローブの差し込まれた部位において、かかる複数の部材の板状部同士を点接合する装置であって、
前記重合せ部の一方の側の板状部表面を、回転しつつ、押圧するショルダ面を有する工具本体と、
かかる工具本体のショルダ面の中央部から外方に突出し、該工具本体に対して、突出方向に独立して移動せしめられることにより、突出長さ(X)を変えることが出来るように構成されたプローブと、
該プローブの突出長さ(X)を、前記重合せ部の厚み(T)と該重合せ部の他方の側の最外側に位置する板状部の厚み(tn )に基づいて、前記重合せ部の厚み(T)よりも短く、且つ、該重合せ部の厚みから該重合せ部の他方の側の板状部の厚みを差し引いた値(T−tn )よりも長くなるように制御する制御手段と、
該制御手段からの制御信号に基づいて、前記プローブを、前記ショルダ面を有する工具本体に対して独立して移動せしめるプローブ移動手段と、
前記重合せ部の厚み(T)及び/又は前記重合せ部の他方の側の最外側に位置する板状部の厚み(t n )を測定するためのセンサとを
有し、該センサにて測定された測定データが、前記制御手段に入力されるように構成されていることを特徴とする摩擦攪拌点接合装置。 - 前記重合せ部の厚み(T)データ及び/又は前記重合せ部の他方の側の最外側に位置する板状部の厚み(tn )データを前記制御手段に入力するための入力手段を、更に有している請求項1に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合装置。
- 前記プローブの突出部が、円柱形状を呈している請求項1又は請求項2に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合装置。
- 前記プローブの先端部の直径(d)と前記工具本体のショルダ面の直径(D)とが、次式:0.25≦(d/D)≦0.50を満たすように構成されている請求項1乃至請求項3の何れかに記載の摩擦攪拌点接合装置。
