Description
熱ゲル化性混合物を製造するためのベース配合物を、肉蛋白質、小麦グルテン、脱脂大豆粉、その他の成分および水から次のおおよその重量割合で調製する:

実施例1の方法に従って製造された半乾燥寸断物を殺菌処理可能なパウチ容器に詰め、そしてシールした。その内容物を殺菌処理した。4.5kcal/gのカロリー密度を有する脂質系肉汁をサッシェの中に密封し、そして上記パウチに固定した。そのパウチとサッシェのシールを破ってそれら内容物を一緒に混ぜ合わせた。この混合物を数分間放置して肉汁の大部分をそのチャンクによって吸収させた。これはペットに与えるのに有効な向上したカロリー値を持つペット食を与えた。
熱ゲル化性混合物を製造するためのベース配合物を、肉蛋白質、小麦グルテン、脱脂大豆粉、その他の成分および水から次のおおよその重量割合で調製する:

チャンクを前記実施例1に記載されるようにして製造し、そして対流乾燥機中で水分低下に付して38%の中間水分率を達成した。これらのチャンクを次いで流動床装置を通過させ、そこでそれらチャンクを微粉状アスコルビン酸(ビタミンC)粒子が分散されている35℃の窒素の流れと接触させた。
肉様外観を有するペットフードの寸断物を、出発調合物から実施例1に記載した方法を用いて製造した。但し、乾燥は実施例2に記載した熱風乾燥機を通過する加熱されたスチールベルト上で行い、また条件は28%の水分率および筋目のある外観を有する最終乾燥寸断物を与えるように調整した。この場合、乾燥時間は約200℃の平均乾燥機温度を用いて約2分であった。ベルト温度は200℃に保持した。その乾燥寸断物はそれらの予備乾燥における筋目のある肉様外観を保持し、そして6のpHを有していた。それらは僅かに油性の触感を有していた。この寸断物のおおよその平均寸法は長さと幅が10mm、そして深さが20mmであった。この寸断物のカロリー密度は2.9kcal/gであると測定された。
寸断物を出発調合物から実施例3に記載した方法を用いて製造した。但し、乾燥条件は23%の水分率を有する最終乾燥寸断物を与えるように調整した。この場合、乾燥時間は約177℃の平均乾燥機温度を用いて約4分であった。得られた乾燥寸断物はごく僅かに脂性の触感、および18mm×15mm×32mmの平均寸法を有していた。それらを殺菌処理可能なプラスチック性パウチの中に包装し、そして95重量%の90:10水/獣脂エマルジョンを含んでいる肉汁配合物、およびビタミン類と酸化防止剤との混合物を加えた。その透明な包装材料を通して見たとき、その寸断物は肉汁配合物で取り囲まれていた。1週間後、その肉汁配合物はほとんど見えなかった。その包装を開けてその寸断物を皿に注ぎ出すと、寸断物上にべとつきが視認できた。その水分率は35重量%であると測定された。カロリー密度は約2.2kcal/gであった。
層状肉エマルジョンのチャンクを水性肉汁の中に含むペットフード缶詰製品を次の手順で製造する。

上記実施例7におけるようにして製造したチャンクをフレークに粉砕し、そして対流乾燥機中で約25%の水分率まで乾燥する。この乾燥成分を親水コロイド系シロップと1.3:1.0比でブレンドする。このシロップは98%の水を含み、残りはキサンタンガム、糖(1種または複数種)、アミノ酸類、着色料、酸化防止剤類およびビタミンB類から成っている。

Claims (10)
- 熱ゲル化性素材を含む収着性食物物体、および前記食物物体に添加し吸収させるために別個に包装されている、機能成分を含有する流体キャリヤーを含むペットフード製品であって、前記食物物体は褐変外観および弾力性、ならびに20〜40重量%の水分率を有し、前記機能成分は製剤、栄養剤およびカロリー増強剤からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種であり、前記機能成分を含む流体キャリヤーは前記食物物体よりも高いカロリー密度を有し、使用時に前記流体キャリヤーを前記食物物体に添加し、吸収された前記流体キャリヤーが吸収後の食物物体の重量に対して10〜60%を構成するように前記機能成分および前記流体キャリヤーの少なくとも一部を前記食物物体に吸収させ、吸収後の食物物体は、20〜45重量%の蛋白質、30〜60重量%の水分率および少なくとも1.5kcal/gのカロリー密度を有する、ペットフード製品。
- 吸収前の前記食物物体が25〜30重量%の水分率を有する、請求項1に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が45〜60重量%の水分率を有する、請求項1または2に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が25〜35重量%の蛋白質を有る、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が10重量%以下の澱粉および5〜15重量%の脂質を含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が少なくとも1.7kcal/gのカロリー密度を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が1.9〜3kcal/gのカロリー密度を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 吸収後の前記食物物体が1.7〜2.8kcal/gのカロリー密度を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 前記機能成分が、ビタミン、ミネラル、酸化防止剤、プリバイオティック、プロバイオティック微生物、前記微生物の代謝産物もしくは培養物の上澄み液、ビタミン、ミネラル、酸化防止剤もしくはプリバイオティックのいずれかを含む植物抽出物、およびビタミン、ミネラル、酸化防止剤もしくはプリバイオティックのいずれかを含む食餌サプリメントからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
- 前記食物物体がシール容器の中に包装され、前記容器上に該食物物体をペット動物に給餌するための使用法が付けられている、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載のペットフード製品。
