Description
(1)有機EL装置製造工程における蒸着装置を小型化できる。
(2)有機EL装置の電圧ドロップの影響が小さくなる。
(3)有機EL装置の成膜面積が小さくなるため応力による膜われが発生しにくい。
(4)上記メリットから、電圧特性を保ちながら安価にバックライトを提供できる。
(5)小型パネルを配列していることにより、応答速度の速い有機ELを用いてスキャンニング・バックライトを実現できる。
Claims (8)
- 有機EL(Electro Luminescence)発光層を備える複数の発光パネルを平面状に配置してなる発光パネル層と、
前記発光パネル層を複数積層してなる発光パネル積層部とを備えており、
前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの境界線の位置がずれるよう配置されている
ことを特徴とする照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層のうち、最も下に配置される発光パネル層には上側に光を反射する反射層が設けられている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの大きさが異なっている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの大きさが異なっているとともに、上下の発光パネル層の各々の発光パネルの各縦横辺の長さの最小公倍数が装置全体の縦横辺の長さとなっている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの外形が異なっている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの配置角度が異なっている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層において各列の発光パネルの点灯を各層順に行う駆動手段を備えている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の照明装置。 - 画像信号に基づき光を変調する液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルに前記光を照射する照明手段とを備える液晶表示装置において、
前記照明手段が、有機EL(Electro Luminescence)発光層を備える複数の発光パネルを平面状に配置してなる発光パネル層と、
前記発光パネル層を複数積層してなる発光パネル積層部とを備えており、
前記発光パネル積層部を構成する複数の発光パネル層の上下において前記複数の発光パネルの境界線の位置がずれるよう配置されている
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
