Description
導電性ポリマーは様々な有機オプトエレクトロニクス用途のために選択する材料へと開発されてきた。オプトエレクトロニクスのためのこのような用途は、ポリマー発光ダイオード(薄膜ディスプレイ)、ソリッドステートライティング、有機太陽光発電(photovolatics)、アドバンストメモリーデバイス、有機フィールド効果トランジスタ、ウルトラキャパシタ及びエレクトロルミネセンスデバイスを含む。
本発明はC3−8第二級もしくは第三級アルキル基を有するチエノチオフェンモノマー、及び、かかるモノマーの重合(重合単位)によって形成される導電性ポリマーに関する。このようなポリマーはオプティカル、エレクトロオプティカル又はエレクトロニクスデバイス、ポリマー発光ダイオード(PLED)、エレクトロルミネセンスデバイス、有機フィールド効果トランジスタ(FET又はOFET)、フラットパネルディスプレイ用途(すなわち、LCD)、無線周波数ID(RFID)タグ、ウルトラキャパシタ、有機太陽発電(OPV)、センサー、小分子もしくはポリマーをベースとするメモリーデバイス及び電気分解キャパシタにおいてホール注入材料、電荷輸送材料又は半導体として、及び水素貯蔵材料としての用途を見出すことができる。
本発明はC3−8第二級もしくは第三級アルキル置換チエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンをベースとする化合物及びそのポリマーに関する。
化合物2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンを記載される様式で2工程手順により製造する。
工程1
3−ブロモ−4−(3,3−ジメチル−ブト−1−イニル)チオフェンの製造
1リットル丸底3つ口フラスコは、還流凝縮器、メカニカルスターラー及び熱電対並びに静的乾燥窒素ガスインレットを具備していた。その後、フラスコに60gのジエチルアミン(事前に粉末KOH上で乾燥しそしてろ過したもの)、96.76g(0.40モル)の3,4−ジブロモチオフェン、500mg(0.7ミリモル)のジクロロビス(トリフェニルホスフィン)パラジウム(II)、200mg(0.76ミリモル)のトリフェニルホスフィン、150mg(1.37ミリモル)のヨウ化銅(I)及び25.0g(0.304モル)の3,3−ジメチル−1−ブチンを装填した。攪拌された混合物を7時間加熱還流した。初期温度は約65℃であった。6時間後に、温度は約70℃であった。
2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンの製造
1リットル丸底3つ口フラスコは、隔膜ポート、バルブ付きベント、マグネチックスターラ、温度計熱電対及び乾燥窒素ガスインレットを具備していた。炉乾燥した系に、室温で、500mLのジエチルエーテル及び46.8g(0.193モル)の3−ブロモ−4−(3,3−ジメチルブト−1−イニル)チオフェンを装填した。乾燥アイス/アセトンバス中で−74℃に冷却した後に、ヘキサン中2.5Mのn−ブチルリチウム80mLを25分間にわたって添加し、結果として温度が−70℃に上昇した。反応物を2時間で−10℃に暖め、次いで、−30℃に冷却し、そのとき、6.54g(0.204モル)の硫黄を急速に添加し、温度が−5℃に上昇した。−5℃で1時間の後に、反応物を−60℃に冷却した。−60℃で1時間の後に、フラスコの内容物を分液ロートに移し、各々500mLの氷冷水で2回抽出し、2分以内にエーテル相から水性相(部分的に氷結)を除去した。窒素下に16時間室温で沈降させた後に、水性相を、各々ある体積のエーテルで4回抽出した。合わせたエーテル相を50gの硫酸マグネシウム上で乾燥し、ろ過し、そして55℃バスでロータリーエバポレータによってエーテルを除去した。空気に暴露する前に濃厚物を0℃に冷却し、70℃及び0.12トルでクーゲルロール(Kugelrohr)蒸留し、その後、窒素下に取り扱った。蒸留分(27.0g)は98.9%2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン(71%収率)であった。クーゲルロール(Kugelrohr)蒸留された生成物を−15〜−20℃でヘプタンから再結晶化させ、23.1gの純度99.4%の2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン(61%収率)を生じた。
チエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンと2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンとの毒性比較
チエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンは、毒性試験において、50mg/kgのオーラルLD50及び200〜400mg/kgのダーマルLD50を示した。一方、2−tert-ブチル−チエノ[3,4-b]チエノフェンは驚くほどより低い毒性を示した。2−tert-ブチル−チエノ[3,4-b]チエノフェンは毒性試験において、>500mg/kgのオーラルLD50及び>400mg/kgのダーマルLD50を示した。
2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンの化学重合
2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン(0.3g、1.53ミリモル)及びイミダゾール(0.178g、2.26ミリモル)は6mLのn−ブタノール中に溶解させ、得られた溶液を0.45μmフィルタでろ過した。鉄(III)トリス−p−トルエンスルホネート(2.3g、3.387ミリモル)を5mLのn−ブタノール中に溶解させ、得られた溶液を0.45μmフィルタでろ過した。両方の溶液を合わせ、その直後に1000rpmで1分間、ガラス基材(通常、2.5×2.5cm)上にスピンコートした。鉄(III)トリス−p−トルエンスルホネートの使用はそれが結晶化しないので有利である。コーティングの後に、膜を乾燥しそしてコンベクションファーネス内でベークした(30分、110℃)。室温に冷却した後に、膜をn−ブタノール及び脱イオン水で数回洗浄し、重合時に形成した鉄(II)塩を抽出した。膜の厚さはプロファイロメトリーで180nmと測定された。得られた膜の導電性は1.18*10−2S/cm〜2.37*10−3S/cmで変化した。ビスNIRスペクトルは形成されたポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)の低いバンドギャップ特性を示す。
2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンの電気化学重合
サイクリックボルタンメトリー(CV)成長によりポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)の膜が生じた。Ptフラグ(1cm2)対電極、非水性Ag/Ag+参照電極及びPtボタンワーキング電極を装備した標準3電極セルで膜を成長させた。電解質はMeCN中の0.1MBu4NPF6であった。2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンは0.01Mであった。窒素ブランケット下に実験を行なった。概して、膜を、1.2Vから−0.8Vでの10回のサイクルで成長させた。CV実験は開回路電圧から開始した。繰り返しスキャン時に、より低いレドックスポテンシャルで規則的なインターバルでの電流応答の増加から重合が明らかであった。
ポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)のPt電極上での評価プロファイル
例4で記載したとおりに形成したポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)の膜をCVによって評価した。新たに成長した膜をMeCN中0.1MのBu4NPF6である新鮮なモノマー不含電解質溶液に移した。Ptフラグ(1cm2)対電極、非水性Ag/Ag+参照電極及びポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)で被覆されたPtボタンワーキング電極を装備した標準3電極セルを用いた。窒素ブランケット下に実験を行なった。CVは開回路電圧走査正値で開始した。ポテンシャルウィンドーは0.6Vから−1.85Vで5回スキャンした。HOMO値は、サイクリックボルタンメトリー実験におけるポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)の酸化の開始から決定した。バンドギャップはサイクリックボルタンメトリー実験におけるポリ(2−tert-ブチルチエノ[3,4-b]チオフェン)の酸化の開始及び還元の開始の差からバンドギャップを決定した。

- X及びX’はHであり、Rはtert-ブチルである、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはボロン酸エステル又はボロン酸である、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはHであり、Rはイソプロピル、tert-ブチル、tert-ペンチル、イソペンチル及び2−エチルヘキシルからなる群より選ばれる、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはハロゲンである、請求項1記載の化合物。
- ハロゲン原子はI、Br又はClである、請求項5記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つは−CH=CHR”であり、R”はHである、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つは−C≡CHである、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはSn(R’)3である、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つは重合性芳香族基である、請求項1記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはフェニル、ナフタレン、ピロール、ジチオフェン及びチオフェンからなる群より選ばれる、請求項10記載の化合物。
- X及びX’の少なくとも1つはチエノチオフェンである、請求項10記載の化合物。
- nは2〜50,000単位の整数である、請求項13記載のポリマー。
- Yは−CH=CR”−であり、R”はHである、請求項13記載のポリマー。
- Yは−C≡C−である、請求項13記載のポリマー。
- Rはイソプロピル、tert-ブチル、tert-ペンチル、イソペンチル又は2−エチルヘキシルである、請求項17記載のポリマー。
- Rはtert-ブチルであり、ポリマーはホモポリマーである、請求項17記載のポリマー。
- 2−tert-ブチル-チエノ[3,4-b]チオフェンの重合単位を有するポリマー。
