Claims (4)
- 複数の垂直走査線と複数の水平信号線との交点にマトリクス状に配列された複数の画素と、各画素のそれぞれに対応付けられて接続されたスイッチ素子と、を有する液晶表示パネルと、
前記複数の垂直走査線を順次選択し、前記垂直走査線に接続されたスイッチ素子をONにすることにより前記複数の画素をライン状に選択して1画面を1フレーム周期で走査する垂直駆動回路と前記1フレーム周期の走査に同期して前記選択されたラインの画素に前記スイッチング素子を介して画像信号を書き込む水平駆動回路とを有する液晶表示制御部と、
前記垂直走査線方向に区分された複数の発光領域により前記液晶パネル表示部を照明する照明部と、
前記液晶表示制御部から前記垂直走査線の走査と同期して出力される垂直同期信号に対して遅延させながら、前記垂直走査線方向に順次前記複数の発光領域を点灯させるインバータ回路とを備え、
前記インバータ回路には前記垂直同期信号に基づいて前記発光領域毎の遅延時間を決定するタイミング信号を生成する位相同期信号発生回路が設けられており、
前記発光領域はn個(nは2以上の自然数)の領域に区分されており、前記位相同期信号発生回路は、1番目の発光領域に対応付けられたONタイミング回路と、2番目以降の各発光領域毎に対応付けられて直列接続されたONタイミング回路とOFFタイミング回路を有し、
前記1番目の発光領域に対応付けられたONタイミング回路には前記垂直同期信号に同期したタイミング信号が入力され、
前記ONタイミング回路のそれぞれは対応付けられた各発光領域の照明をONするタイミング信号を出力するとともに、
k番目(k=1,2,・・・,(n−1))の発光領域に対応付けられたONタイミング回路と、(k+1)番目の発光領域に対応付けられたOFFタイミング回路と、が順次接続されており、
(k+1)番目の発光領域に対応付けられたOFFタイミング回路が、k番目の発光領域に対応付けられたONタイミング回路への入力信号により動作開始されて前記(k+1)番目の発光領域の照明をONするタイミング信号の発生を所定時間遅延させることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記インバータ回路には、前記液晶表示パネル部の温度を検出して温度信号を生成する温度検出部を有し、
前記位相同期信号発生回路には、前記温度検出部からの温度信号と前記垂直同期信号とに基づいて、前記垂直同期信号に同期するとともに前記温度信号に応じたパルス幅の温度タイミング信号を生成する温度タイミング回路が設けられ、
前記1番目の発光領域に対応付けられたONタイミング回路には前記垂直同期信号に同期した前記温度タイミング信号が入力されることにより、
前記温度信号に基づいて前記発光領域毎の遅延時間を決定するタイミング信号を生成する請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記インバータ回路が、前記温度検出部の増幅率設定と前記位相同期信号発生回路の回路定数による充電率調整とにより、前記液晶表示パネル部の実温度との相関調整がなされていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記温度検出部が、温度センサと演算増幅器とを備え、前記温度信号は前記温度センサの抵抗値変化に対応する電気信号が、前記演算増幅器により増幅された信号であることを特徴とする請求項2または請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
