Description
図2は本発明の実施例によるVVAモード液晶表示装置を示した断面図である。
図に示すように、本発明のVVAモード液晶表示装置は画素電極21を具備した下部基板20と相対電極25を具備した上部基板23との間に誘電率異方性が負である多数個の液晶分子で構成された液晶層30が挟持されている構造である。

Claims (5)
- 所定距離をおいて対向配置された下部基板と上部基板と、
前記上下部基板の間に挟持された誘電率異方性が負である液晶で構成された液晶層と、
前記下部基板の内側面上に形成された画素電極と、
前記上部基板の内側面上に形成され、V字溝及び前記V字溝より浅い深さを有しながら前記V字溝に直交する鋸の歯もよう溝を具備したカラーレジン層と、
前記V字溝及びこれに直交する鋸の歯もよう溝を含んだカラーレジン層上に形成された相対電極と、
前記画素電極と液晶層との間及び前記相対電極と液晶層との間に各々設けられた垂直配向膜と、
前記上下部基板の外側面各々に偏光軸が互に直交するように付着された偏光板を含むことを特徴とするVVAモード液晶表示装置。 - 前記V字溝はカラーレジン層を貫通するように形成され、前記鋸の歯もよう溝はカラーレジン層を所定の厚さだけ薄くして形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のVVAモード液晶表示装置。
- 前記鋸の歯もよう溝は1〜20μmの幅及び1〜20μmの間隔を有するように形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のVVAモード液晶表示装置。
- 前記カラーレジン層の厚さは1〜4μmであり、前記鋸の歯もよう溝の深さはV字溝の10〜80%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のVVAモード液晶表示装置。
- 前記鋸の歯もよう溝を含んだV字溝は、画素領域内に“+”字もよう、“×”字もよう及び鎹もようで構成されたグループから選択されるいずれか一つのもようで形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のVVAモード液晶表示装置。
