Description

動脈瘤は、(風船に似た)血管の膨張であり、これは、破裂、凝固または解体するおそれがあるために、健康上のリスクを生じる。脳で動脈瘤が破裂すると、脳卒中を起こし、また、腹部で動脈瘤が破裂すると、ショックを引き起こす。脳の動脈瘤は、通常、患者が発作を起こしたり出血することから検出され、罹患率および死亡率が著しく高い。
それゆえ、本発明は、新規な閉塞組成物だけでなく、これらの組成物を使用しそして製造する方法を包含する。

Claims (12)
- 脈管閉塞アセンブリであって、以下:
(a)移植可能装置であって、該移植可能装置は、軸方向管腔を有する、移植可能装置;および
(b)液状薬剤であって、ここで、該液状薬剤は、該移植可能装置の該管腔内に注入され、さらに、ここで、該液状薬剤は、(i)注入後、自己重合して、剛性または半剛性状態になるか、または(ii)該移植可能装置の該管腔に配置された1種またはそれ以上の追加薬剤と相互作用すると、重合する、液状薬剤、
を備える、アセンブリ。 - 前記液状薬剤が、フィブリン、フィブリノーゲン、トロンビン、コラーゲン、ポリエチレングリコール、シアノアクリレート、微結晶ワックス組成物、セルロースアセテート重合体および可塑剤からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記移植可能装置が、脈管閉塞コイルである、請求項1または2に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記液状薬剤が、数分間〜数時間にわたって、自己重合する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記液状薬剤が、前記移植可能装置の展開後に、前記管腔に注入される、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記液状薬剤が、展開前に、前記管腔に注入される、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記液状薬剤が、前記1種またはそれ以上の追加成分と接触すると、剛性または半剛性状態に重合する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記追加成分が、トロンビンまたはカルシウムである、請求項7に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記追加成分が、前記装置の展開前に、前記軸方向管腔内に配置される、請求項7または8に記載のアセンブリ。
- 前記追加成分が、前記装置の展開後に、前記軸方向管腔内に注入される、請求項7または8に記載のアセンブリ。
- さらに、可撓性管状プッシャーを備え、該プッシャーが、前記装置の前記管腔に操作可能に連結される、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
- さらに、放射線不透過性材料を備える、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載のアセンブリ。
