Description
また、転写用シートを水面に浮かべた後にインキ活性化溶剤を塗布する方法が提案されており(例えば、特許文献5)、この方法によると、転写用シートが膨潤することによってもたらされる印刷柄の広がりをある程度抑制することが可能である。しかしながら、この方法では、転写用シートを水面に浮かべる時間やインキ活性化溶剤を塗布してから被転写体に転写するまでの時間を制御すること等については全く配慮されておらず、高精細な柄を転写するという問題を解決することはできなかった。
本発明の方法によれば、転写用シートを、界面活性剤を特定の濃度で含有する水溶液の液面上に浮かべたときの膨潤による伸張を、転写用シートの伸び率として1.40倍以下に抑制することができる。なお、ここで転写用シートの伸び率とは、インキ活性化溶剤を塗布した転写用シートを水溶液の液面に浮遊させた後、一定の時間が経過した時点における印刷柄の広がりの度合いを示す。
本発明の水圧転写方法は、転写用シートを浮かべる水溶液が界面活性剤を特定の濃度で含有していることが重要であり、これにより被転写体である成形体の表面に高精細な柄を鮮明に印刷することが可能になる。
CMCが5.0mmol/l以下、さらには1.0mmol/l以下の界面活性剤の代表例として、一般式(1)で表わされるポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテルを挙げることができる。
界面活性剤は、2種類以上を組合せて用いることができる。
(転写用シートの伸び率)
縦20cm×横20cmの正方形の転写用シートを用い、その中央部に、水性ペンを用いて、直径が4cmの大きさの円を描いた。この転写用シートに、インキ活性化溶剤をスプレー法により塗布した後、30℃に保たれた水溶液の液面上に浮かべたところ、約10秒が経過すると、シート表面にシワが発生した。シート表面のシワは、時間が経過するとともに徐々に消失し、シート面は完全に平滑になった。転写用シートを水溶液の液面上に浮かべてから、シート面が平滑になるまでに要した時間の4倍の時間が経過した時点において、転写用シートに描かれた円について最大の変化を示した箇所の径を測定し、これを元の直径(4cm)で徐して「転写用シートの伸び率」を算出した。
(成形物へ転写した印刷柄の伸び率)
前記転写用シートの伸び率の測定と同様にして、転写用シートを水面に浮かべてから、シート面が平滑になるまでに要した時間の4倍の時間が経過した時点において、水面に浮遊している転写用シートの上から厚さ4mm、大きさ20cm×20cmのABS樹脂板を水面に平行に押し当てて、ABS樹脂板に印刷柄を転写した。ABS樹脂板に印刷柄を転写された円について最大の変化を示した箇所の径を測定し、これを元の直径(4cm)で除して「成形物へ転写した印刷柄の伸び率」を算出した。
(CMCの測定法)
界面活性剤のCMCは、表面張力法によって求めた。イオン交換水と界面活性剤を用いて界面活性剤の濃度が1重量%の水溶液を調製し、当該水溶液の表面張力を協和化学製の表面張力計CBUP−A3を使用し、ウィルヘルミー法にしたがって測定した。
引続き、イオン交換水で濃度を希釈しながら、0.5、0.1、0.01、0.001、0.001、0.0001、0.00001重量%で表面張力を測定し、界面活性剤の濃度の対数に対して表面張力をプロットし、プロットの屈曲点からCMCを求めた。本発明では、濃度の単位を“mmol/l”に換算して用いた。

Claims (9)
- ポリビニルアルコール系重合体フィルムに印刷層を形成した転写用シートを、印刷層を上にして、界面活性剤の含有量が10〜30000ppmである水溶液の液面上に浮かべ、被転写体である成形体を液面に向けて押しつけることにより印刷層を成形体に転写することを特徴とする水圧転写方法。
- 水溶液における界面活性剤の含有量が30〜15000ppmである請求項1に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 水溶液における界面活性剤の含有量が50〜10000ppmである請求項2に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度が5.0mmol/l以下である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 界面活性剤の臨界ミセル濃度が1.0mmol/l以下である請求項4に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 転写用シートを、界面活性剤を含有する水溶液の液面上に浮かべたときの伸び率が1.40倍以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 転写用シートを、界面活性剤を含有する水溶液の液面上に浮かべたときの伸び率が1.30倍以下であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の水圧転写方法。
- 転写用シートを、界面活性剤を含有する水溶液の液面上に浮かべたときの伸び率が1.20倍以下であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の水圧転写方法。
