Description
本発明は、複合体材料を製造する方法に関し、より具体的には、z軸繊維強化をx−y軸複合体材料に取り込むためのプロセスに関する。
積層体のz軸強化のために不安定な強化繊維を複合積層体に挿入する方法は、z軸繊維堆積材料を必要とする。チャンバの側面は、上面と底面との間に形成され、そのチャンバの中にx−y軸材料が供給される。チャンバの側面は、x−y軸材料の縁部を限定する。側面に沿って間隔を開けられた複数のz軸繊維堆積マシンが存在し、それによって複数のz軸繊維が、同時にx−y軸材料中に堆積され得る。各z軸繊維堆積マシンは、上面および底面中にそれぞれ固有の開口部を有し、これらは整列される。底面の各開口部より下は、テーパー付けされた前方先端部を有する細長中実棒である。この棒は、「経路堆積プローブ」(PDP)として公知である。このPDPは、モーターによって回転され、次いで、底面の開口部、x−y軸材料および上面の開口部を通って上向きに作動される。可動式中空管が上面の各開口部上に取り付けられ、この中空管の開始位置は、上面の開口部にわずかに挿入された底部末端を有する。z軸繊維束は、固定ロール上に収容され、そのロールから連続的に自由に引かれる。各z軸繊維束の前方末端は、可動式中空管の1つを通ってその底部末端に隣接する位置まで下向きに貫かれる。新しいz軸繊維束が必要とされる場合に、所定の長さのz軸繊維束を、各可動式中空管に再供給するための構造が存在する。

Claims (17)
- 積層体のz軸強化のために複合積層体に不安定な強化繊維を挿入する方法であって、該方法は、以下:
z軸繊維をx軸繊維およびy軸繊維から作製される材料層に取り込む前に、少なくとも1つの該材料層を提供する工程であって、該層は、上面、下面および所定の厚さを有する、工程;
テーパー付けされた前方先端部、シャンク部分、後端およびz軸を有する細長中実棒を提供し、該棒の該前方先端部を該少なくとも1つの材料層の上下面のうちの一方に近位に配置する工程;
前端、後端、内壁表面およびz軸を有する第1の可動式細長中空管を提供し、該第1の可動式中空管の該前端を該少なくとも1つの材料層の上下面のもう一方に近位に配置する、工程;
前端を有するz軸繊維束を提供し、該繊維束の前端が、該第1の可動式管の前端まで十分に移動するまで、該繊維束の前端を該第1の可動式中空管の後端に挿入する工程;
該中実棒を該材料層に、および該材料層を通って、所定の距離だけ挿入する工程;
該z軸繊維束を該第1の中空管の内壁に一時的に固定し、その結果該繊維束が該第1の中空管と共に移動する工程;該第1の中空管の前端が該中実棒の外表面と接触するまで、z軸方向に該第1の中空管を移動する工程;および
該第1の中空管および該第1の中空管に固定された該z軸繊維束を、該材料層の全厚を通って移動させる工程であって、同時に該材料層から該中実棒を引き抜く工程、
を包含する、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記第1の中空管の内壁から前記z軸繊維束を取り外し、次いで前記材料層から該第1の中空管を引き抜き、それによって該z軸繊維束を、該第1の中空管が引き抜かれる際に該材料層内に固定したままにしておく、次の工程をさらに包含する、方法。
- 前記中実棒が、前記材料層への挿入の間、回転している、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、前記z軸繊維束から、前記材料層中に堆積されているz軸繊維を分離する工程をさらに包含する、方法。
- 請求項4に記載の方法であって、前記材料層を前方にステッピングし、その結果前記工程が、さらなるz軸繊維を該材料層に堆積するために繰り返され得る工程をさらに包含する、方法。
- 請求項4に記載の方法であって、z軸強化のために不安定な強化繊維を複合積層体中に挿入する操作を実施する仕組みを後方にステッピングする工程であって、前記材料層が静止したままである、工程をさらに包含する、方法。
- 請求項5に記載の方法であって、複合体材料を硬化するために、引抜成形ダイを通して新たに挿入されたz軸繊維を有する前記材料層を通過させる工程をさらに包含する、方法。
- 互いの上に積み重ねられる複数の材料層であって、その中にz軸繊維が挿入される材料層をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記材料層のいくつかが、コア材料の層によって互いに垂直方向に間隔を開けられている、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記コア材料の層が、発泡体プラスチックから作製される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記コア材料の層が、バルサ材から作製される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維束が、ガラス繊維から作製される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維束が、炭素繊維から作製される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記コア材料の層が、ハニカム材料から作製される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維束が、アラミド繊維から作製される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記中実棒の後端が、前記中空管の前端の口広げを防ぐためにダンパーばねを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記材料層の前方へのステッピングおよび前記さらなるz軸繊維の該材料層への堆積が同期して行なわれる、請求項5に記載の方法。
