Claims (7)
- 面発光素子を駆動する発光素子駆動回路であって、
前記面発光素子に略一定のバイアス電流を供給するバイアス電流駆動回路と、
変調電流を前記バイアス電流に重畳して前記面発光素子に供給する変調電流駆動回路と、
前記面発光素子の温度を検出する温度検出回路と、を備え、
前記変調電流駆動回路は、検出された前記温度が上昇した場合に、前記変調電流の電流量を減少させることを特徴とする発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記バイアス電流駆動回路は、前記面発光素子の平均出射光量が所定の規格で定められた上限となる電流および下限となる電流の範囲内となる電流を前記バイアス電流として供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光素子駆動回路。
- 前記面発光素子が出射した光を受光し、所定の電流を生成する受光素子と、
前記所定の電流に基づいて前記平均出射光量を検出し、検出された前記平均出射光量が予め定められた範囲内にない場合に、前記バイアス電流駆動回路及び前記変調電流駆動回路が、前記面発光素子に前記バイアス電流及び前記変調電流を供給する動作を停止させる出射光量検出部と、
をさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記バイアス電流駆動回路は、インダクタを介して前記面発光素子に前記バイアス電流を供給し、
前記変調電流駆動回路は、キャパシタを介して前記面発光デバイスに前記変調電流を供給することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記面発光素子は、前記受光素子と一体に形成されたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の発光素子駆動回路。
- 請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の発光素子駆動回路を備えたことを特徴とする光通信装置。
- 面発光素子を駆動する発光素子駆動方法であって、
前記面発光素子に略一定のバイアス電流を供給するステップと、
変調電流を前記バイアス電流に重畳して前記面発光素子に供給するステップと、
前記面発光素子の温度を検出するステップと、
検出された前記温度が上昇した場合に、前記変調電流の電流量を減少させるステップと、
を備えたことを特徴とする発光素子駆動方法。
