【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、ブランクシートから箱を形成しつつ集積された被包装物を包み込み包装するラップアラウンド式の箱詰機において、箱詰めされる被包装物の列間に挿入される中仕切りの供給方法および装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、ラップアラウンドケーサー等のラップアラウンド式の箱詰機において、複数列で集合された被包装物の列間にシート状の中仕切りを挿入した形態で箱詰めする場合は、被包装物をシートの物品収容部に供給する前に、該被包装物の列間に間隔を付与し、上方から中仕切りを落下供給することで被包装物間に中仕切りが挿入された集合状態として、これらを前記物品収容部に向けて一括して押送する方式(例えば特開2000−180626号公報、特開昭59−1304号公報、特開昭58−20615号公報等)が採用されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前述した方式によれば、被包装物の列間に予め間隔を付与する機構と、中仕切りを供給した後に被包装物の列間に形成された間隔をなくすための機構等を設ける必要があり、装置が大型化すると共に構造が複雑化する等の難点がある。また、中仕切りを落下供給する際に位置ズレが発生し易く、更には被包装物を集合状態にして中仕切りと共に前記物品収容部に向けて押送する際に、被包装物と中仕切りとの位置関係が崩れて物品収容部に至ったときに、位置ズレした状態となり得る等の問題が指摘される。これらの問題は、被包装物が複数段で集積されたもとで行なわれる場合等に、特に発生し易いものであった。

【発明の目的】
この発明は、前述した従来の技術に内在している課題に鑑み、これを好適に解決するべく提案されたものであって、被包装物との位置ズレが発生し難く、物品収容部に位置決めされた状態で確実に中仕切りを供給し得る箱詰機における中仕切り供給方法および装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前述した課題を解決し、所期の目的を好適に達成するため、本発明に係る箱詰機における中仕切り供給方法は、
未製函状態のシートの物品収容部に複数段で被包装物を供給後、該シートを折り曲げて箱詰めを行なうラップアラウンド式の箱詰機における中仕切り供給方法において、
集積部から1枚づつ取り出されたシート状の中仕切りを、保持具で保持してそのまま前記物品収容部上に移送して起立姿勢に保持し、
前記被包装物が物品収容部における中仕切りを挟む両側に所定段数供給されるまで、前記保持具による中仕切りの保持状態を維持し、保持具が中仕切りを解放後にシートが折り曲げ形成されるのに伴い、被包装物を物品収容部の中央に押して該被包装物の列間で中仕切りを挟圧するようにしたことを特徴とする。

また前述した課題を解決し、所期の目的を好適に達成するため、本願の別発明に係る箱詰機における中仕切り供給装置は、

集積部に集積状態で貯留されているシート状の中仕切りを1枚づつ取り出す取出手段と、
前記取出手段で取り出された中仕切りを保持してそのまま前記物品収容部上に移送し起立姿勢に保持する保持具を有する移送手段を備え、
前記保持具は起立姿勢で保持した中仕切りを挟む両側に前記被包装物が所定段数供給された後に、該中仕切りを解放し、この解放後にシートが折り曲げ形成されるのに伴い、被包装物が物品収容部の中央に押されて該被包装物の列間で中仕切りを挟圧することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本発明に係る箱詰機における中仕切り供給方法および装置につき、好適な実施例を挙げて、添付図面を参照しながら以下説明する。なお、本明細書中で「未製函状態のシート」とは、物品収容部に被包装物が供給可能な状態のものを指称するものであって、パネルやフラップが折り曲げられていないブランクシートは勿論、被包装物の供給が可能な状態まで一部のパネルやフラップが折り曲げられている半製函状態のケース(半製函ケース)を含む意味で使用されるものである。

図1は、実施例に係る中仕切り供給装置を採用したラップアラウンド式の箱詰機としてのラップアラウンドケーサーの全体構成を示すものであって、実施例の中仕切り供給装置10は、ブランクシート11における各パネルやフラップを折り曲げて製函する製函装置12における物品箱詰め位置に対応して配設されている。先ず、この製函装置12の概略構成につき説明すると、該製函装置12は、図2に示す如く、複数のブランクシート11が傾斜状態で貯留されるシートホッパー13と、ブランクシート群の前端側(シート移送方向下流側)からブランクシート11を1枚づつ取り出すシート取出手段(図示せず)と、該取出手段により取り出されたブランクシート11が折り曲げ形成された半製函ケース14を下流側に移送するケース移送コンベヤ15とを基本的に備える。このケース移送コンベヤ15は、ケース移送方向と交差する方向に離間する一対の無端チェン16,16の夫々に、走行方向に離間する一対のガイド部材17,18が複数組配設されると共に、無端チェン16,16における上側の走行路より上方に配設されて同方向に離間する一対の支持レール19,19を備え(図5参照)、前記シート取出手段により取り出されるブランクシート11は、その底面パネル11aにおけるケース移送方向の前後に連設されている側面パネル(シート)11b,11cが前後のガイド部材17,18により上側に折り曲げられると共に、両ガイド部材17,18の間に臨む支持レール19,19間に該底面パネル11aが載置されるようになっている。そして、この半製函ケース14が、無端チェン16,16の走行により一対の後ガイド部材18,18により押されて物品箱詰め位置まで移送されるよう構成される。

前記物品箱詰め位置における後述する物品供給装置24が配設される側とは反対の一側部には、図1に示す如く、前記前後の側面パネル11b,11cの対応する側に連設される内フラップ11d,11eを折り曲げる第1折曲手段20と第2折曲手段21が配設される。ケース移送方向の前側に位置する第1内フラップ11dを折り曲げる第1折曲手段20は、待機位置と折曲位置との間を進退移動可能に構成され、前記半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置に到来する過程で、待機位置に臨む第1折曲手段20に第1内フラップ11dが当接しつつ移送されることで仮折曲げ位置まで折り曲げられるよう構成される。また、ケース移送方向の後側に位置する第2内フラップ11eを折り曲げる第2折曲手段21は、未折曲状態の第2内フラップ11eが当接しない待機位置と折曲位置との間を回動するよう構成され、半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置に到来したときに、待機位置から折曲位置に向けて回動することで第2内フラップ11eを仮折曲げ位置まで折り曲げるよう構成される。これにより、物品箱詰め位置の半製函ケース14は、上方および他側部(物品供給側の側方)が開口した半製函状態となり、前記底面パネル11aの上部に物品収容部Sが画成される。

なお、前記ケース移送コンベヤ15における前後のガイド部材17,18の離間間隔は、半製函ケース14の底面パネル11aより幅広に設定され、物品箱詰め位置に到来している半製函ケース14において、両ガイド部材17,18に支持されている前後の側面パネル11b,11cは、図2に示すように上側に向かうにつれて外側に傾斜し、側部の開口寸法を大きくして被包装物22の物品収容部Sへの供給を容易化し得るよう構成してある。また、被包装物22が供給された半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置から下流側に移送される過程で、前記後ガイド部材18および図示しない折曲部材により傾斜状態の両側面パネル11b,11cが略直角となるよう内側(物品収容部S側)に向けて折り曲げ形成され、このときに後述するように被包装物22と中仕切り26との間隔をなくして被包装物22,22で該中仕切り26を挟圧すようになっている。

前記第1折曲手段20は、前記半製函ケース14の物品収容部Sに被包装物22が供給された後に、待機位置から折曲位置まで前進することで、第1,第2内フラップ11d,11eを側面パネル11b,11cに対して略90度折り曲げ形成された正規の折曲げ位置まで折り曲げるようになっている。そして、このとき後述する中仕切り26の延出部26aも同時に物品収容部S内に位置するよう押込むよう構成される。更に、物品箱詰め位置には、図示しないケース位置決め手段が設けられ、前記後側面パネル11cを外側(上流側)から押圧して、前側面パネル11bを対応する下流側の前記前ガイド部材17に当接させることで、当該半製函ケース14を物品箱詰め位置において位置決めするよう構成してある。

図1に示す如く、前記物品箱詰め位置を挟むケース移送方向の前後の所定長さに亘り、前記各無端チェン16の外側にガイド板23が夫々略水平に配設され、前記半製函ケース14における底面パネル11aのケース移送方向と交差する方向の両側に連設されている左右(ケース移送方向の下流側から視た状態で)のサイドフラップ11f,11gは、該ガイド板23,23の下側に臨むよう設定される(図5参照)。すなわち、物品箱詰め位置において左右のサイドフラップ11f,11gをガイド板23,23により底面パネル11aより下方に保持することで、前記物品収容部Sに対する被包装物22や中仕切り26の供給を円滑に行ない得るよう構成される。

前記物品箱詰め位置における他側部に配設される物品供給装置24は、その物品移送方向がケース移送コンベヤ15によるケース移送方向とは直交する姿勢で配置され、物品箱詰め位置に位置決めされた半製函ケース14の物品収容部Sに、複数の被包装物22を複数列・複数段(実施例では2列・5段であるが、その列数・段数は限定されない)の段積み状態となるよう側方の開口部から供給するよう構成される。この物品供給装置24は、前工程の接続コンベヤ(図示せず)から供給されてくる被包装物22を受け取り、これを半製函ケース14の物品収容部S内に供給する2基の供給コンベヤ25,25をケース移送方向の前後に並列に備える。これら2基の供給コンベヤ25,25の下流端(被包装物22の移送終端)は、物品供給に際して図示しない手段により物品移送方向に沿って進退動すると共に昇降動され、これによって移送終端から放出される被包装物22を物品収容部Sに2列・5段の集積状態となるよう供給するようになっている。

前記物品箱詰め位置を挟む物品供給装置24の配設位置とは反対の一側部に配設される前記中仕切り供給装置10は、シート状の中仕切り26が水平姿勢の集積状態で貯留される集積部としての貯留ホッパー27と、該ホッパー27の最下部から中仕切り26を水平姿勢のまま1枚づつ前方(製函装置12に近接する側)に取り出す取出手段としての押出装置28と、取り出された中仕切り26を水平姿勢から90度姿勢変換して起立姿勢とする姿勢変換手段としての姿勢変換装置29と、この姿勢変換された起立姿勢の中仕切り26を把持(保持)して物品箱詰め位置に待機する半製函ケース14における物品収容部S上に移送すると共に起立姿勢で保持する移送手段としての移送装置30とを備えている。

前記貯留ホッパー27は、図3および図4に示す如く、ケース移送方向に沿う幅方向に離間して対向するよう装置フレーム31に配設されて上下方向に所定長さで延在する一対の側部ガイド32,32を備え、両側部ガイド32,32の下端には、L字状に形成された下部ガイド33,34が、その水平部33a,34aを内側(他方の下部ガイドを指向する側)に所定長さだけ延出した状態で配設され、両水平部33a,34aに中仕切り26の幅方向両端部が載置されるよう構成される。また各側部ガイド32における製函装置12に近接する前端縁に、略直角に折曲形成されて内側に所定長さだけ延出する規制部32aが設けられ、両下部ガイド33,34間に集積状態で載置された最下部の中仕切り26を除く他の中仕切り26の前端縁が、規制部32a,32aに当接して位置規制されるようになっている。なお、規制部32a,32aの下部に、水平部33a,34aの上面との間に中仕切り26が1枚のみ通過可能な隙間を画成するゲート部材32b,32bが配設され、前記押出装置28により最下部の中仕切り26のみが前方に押し出されるよう構成してある。また、各規制部32aから後方(製函装置12から離間する側)に離間する位置に、上下方向に延在する後部ガイド35が装置フレーム31に夫々配設され、両後部ガイド35,35により中仕切り26の後端縁が位置決めされる。

図3に示す如く、ケース移送方向の上流側に位置する第1下部ガイド33は、側部ガイド32の前端から、中仕切り26の前後寸法(ケース移送方向と交差する方向の寸法)より長く前方に延在するのに対し、下流側に位置する第2下部ガイド34は、第1下部ガイド33よりは短かく、前記姿勢変換装置29の後述する挟持部材44,45と干渉しない位置まで延在するよう設定される。また第1下部ガイド33の前端部には、中仕切り26における両下部ガイド33,34の間に臨む前端縁が当接可能なストッパ36が配設され、前記押出装置28により前方に押し出された中仕切り26の前端縁がストッパ36に当接したときに、該中仕切り26の後端縁が前記規制部32a,32aより前方に臨むよう設定されている。

前記貯留ホッパー27に対するケース移送方向の上流側の装置フレーム31における下面に第1ベース材37が配設されると共に、該ベース材37の下面に配設されて前後方向に延在するレール38に沿ってホルダ39が摺動可能に配設されている。このホルダ39には、貯留ホッパー27に貯留されている最下部の中仕切り26の下方まで延在する取付部39aが設けられ、この取付部39aの上面に、図4に示す如く、前記一対の下部ガイド33,34の内側で幅方向に離間する一対のキッカー40,40が配設される。各キッカー40は、前後方向に所定長さで延在する板状の基材40aの後部上面に、所定長さの押片40bを備えた段付き状に構成され、該キッカー40,40の待機位置では前記下部ガイド33,34に載置されている中仕切り26が基材40a,40aに載ると共に押片40b,40bの前端が該中仕切り26の後方に臨むよう構成される(図3参照)。また押片40bの厚みは、中仕切り26の厚みより僅かに薄く設定され、キッカー40を前進移動させることで、該押片40bが最下部の中仕切り26の後端縁にのみ当接してこれを前方に押し出すようになっている。

前記第1ベース材37の下面側には、前記レール38に沿うように押出シリンダ41が配設され、その後方を指向するピストンロッド41aが前記ホルダ39に連結されている。すなわち、押出シリンダ41を正逆付勢することで、ホルダ39がレール38に沿って前後動し、これによってキッカー40,40を後側の待機位置と前側の押し出し位置との間を移動させるよう構成してある。そして、キッカー40,40が押し出し位置まで前進したときに、前記下部ガイド33,34に載置されている中仕切り26の前端縁が前記ストッパ36に当接する位置まで押し出されるようになっている。なお、前記押片40bは、キッカー40が押し出し位置まで前進したときに、貯留ホッパー27内の次の押し出し対象となる中仕切り26の下面を支持し得る長さ寸法に設定されており、該キッカー40の待機位置への後退が中仕切り26により妨げられないよう構成してある。

前記貯留ホッパー27に対するケース移送方向の下流側の装置フレーム31に、前記押出装置28により押し出し位置まで押し出された水平姿勢の中仕切り26を、略垂直な起立姿勢に変換する前記姿勢変換装置29が配設されている。この姿勢変換装置29は、装置フレーム31の下面に前後に離間して垂設された一対の軸受42,42に回動可能に軸支されて前後方向に延在する回動軸43を備え、該回動軸43の前端部には、待機位置において前記第2下部ガイド34の前方でその水平部34aの上面レベルと略同一または僅かに下方に水平に臨む第1挟持部材44と、該第1挟持部材44に対して上方から近接離間可能な第2挟持部材45および該第2挟持部材45を近接離間移動させる挟持用シリンダ46が配設される。そして、前記押出装置28により押し出し位置まで押し出される水平姿勢の中仕切り26における下流側の一側端部が、待機位置において第1挟持部材44,45で支持されると共に、両挟持部材44,45で挟持可能に構成されている。

また、前記回動軸43の後端部はロータリーシリンダ47に連結されており、該シリンダ47を正逆付勢することで、前記第1挟持部材44を水平な待機位置と上向きに略90度回動した垂直な受渡し位置との間を回動するよう設定され、これによって水平姿勢の中仕切り26を起立姿勢に姿勢変換するようになっている。

前記姿勢変換装置29が配設される装置フレーム31に、前記受渡し位置に臨む起立姿勢の中仕切り26を、前記半製函ケース14の物品収容部S上に移送する前記移送装置30が配設される。この移送装置30は、幅方向に延在する回動支軸48が、前記貯留ホッパー27と製函装置12との間に臨む装置フレーム31に垂設された取付台49に回転可能に軸支され、該回動支軸48の一端部に径方向に延出する回動アーム50が一体回動可能に配設されている。また回動アーム50の延出端部には、前記受渡し位置(受取り位置)で起立姿勢の中仕切り26における前端縁部を把持可能な一対の把持片51,51を開閉可能に備える保持具52が配設される。前記回動支軸48の他端部にピニオン53が一体回動可能に配設されており、該ピニオン53は、装置フレーム31に第2ベース材54を介して配設された反転用シリンダ55により前後動されるラック56に噛合している。すなわち、反転用シリンダ55を正逆付勢することで、ラック56とピニオン53との噛合作用下に回動アーム50を所定角度の範囲で回動させ、前記保持具52を、前方を向く供給位置と後方を向く受取り位置との間を移動させるよう構成される。実施例では、回動アーム50の回動範囲は略180度に設定されるが、供給位置と受取り位置との関係によって変更可能である。そして受取り位置において保持具52は、前記姿勢変換装置29の挟持部材44,45により起立姿勢での下端部が挟持されている中仕切り26における前端部の上下方向略中央部を把持し得るようになっている。また保持具52を供給位置に移動することで、該保持具52で把持している中仕切り26を、その上下が反転した起立姿勢で前記半製函ケース14の物品収容部Sにおける幅方向の略中央部に供給し得るよう設定される。なお、物品収容部Sに中仕切り26を供給したときに、該中仕切り26における保持具52での把持側の側部が、該物品収容部Sから側方に所定長さだけ延出し(図5参照)、この延出部26aを把持している保持具52が、物品収容部Sへの被包装物22,22の供給の妨げとならないよう構成される。また、物品収容部S上で保持される中仕切り26は、該中仕切り26を挟む両側の物品収容部Sへの被包装物22,22の供給に支障を来すことのない起立姿勢に保持されるものであって、実施例では前記底面パネル11aに対して略垂直となっている。

前記保持具52は、物品収容部Sに被包装物22,22が所定段数供給されることで中仕切り26が被包装物22,22で支持されるまでは、物品収容部Sからの延出部26aを把持状態(保持状態)に維持し、その後(実施例では最終段の前の段である4段目が供給されたとき)に解放するよう設定されている。また前記反転用シリンダ55は、中仕切り26を解放した保持具52を、半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置から下流側に移送される前に供給位置から受取り位置に移動させ、物品箱詰め位置に次の半製函ケース14が到来した後で被包装物22が供給される前の適宜のタイミングで受取り位置から供給位置に移動させるよう付勢制御される。なお、前記姿勢変換装置29による中仕切り26の受渡し位置(受取り位置)への姿勢変換は、保持具52が受取り位置から供給位置に移動され、次に供給位置から受取り位置に移動される前の間の適宜のタイミングで行なわれるよう設定されている。

【実施例の作用】
次に、前述した実施例に係る箱詰機における中仕切り供給装置の作用につき、中仕切り供給方法との関係で説明する。

前記中仕切り供給装置10では、前記押出装置28の押出シリンダ41が付勢され、前記キッカー40,40を待機位置から押し出し位置に前進移動することで、貯留ホッパー27に貯留されている最下部の中仕切り26が、前記下部ガイド33,34の水平部33a,34aに沿って前方に押し出される。このとき、前記姿勢変換装置29における一対の挟持部材44,45は相互に離間して待機位置に臨んでおり、貯留ホッパー27から押し出された中仕切り26の一側部が、開放状態の挟持部材44,45の間に挿入される。また、該中仕切り26の前端縁が前記ストッパ36に当接することで位置決めされる。

次に、前記姿勢変換装置29の挟持用シリンダ46が付勢され、第1挟持部材44に対して第2挟持部材45を近接することで中仕切り26の一側部を挟持した後、前記ロータリーシリンダ47が付勢されて、両挟持部材44,45を略90度回動することで、水平姿勢の中仕切り26が起立姿勢に姿勢変換される。なお、このとき前記移送装置30の保持具52は供給位置に臨んでおり、中仕切り26の起立姿勢への変換は阻害されない。また、姿勢変換装置29により中仕切り26が起立姿勢とされた後、前記押出シリンダ41が逆付勢されて、前記キッカー40,40が押し出し位置から待機位置に後退することで、貯留ホッパー27内の次の中仕切り26が押片40b,40bから基材40a,40aに載り移る。

前記移送装置30の反転用シリンダ55が付勢されて回動アーム50が略180度回動し、一対の把持片51,51を開放した状態の保持具52が受取り位置に移動することで、起立姿勢となっている中仕切り26の前端部が両把持片51,51の間に入る。このとき、把持片51,51が閉成されることで中仕切り26が把持され、前記製函装置12の物品箱詰め位置に半製函ケース14が到来するまでこの状態で待機する。

前記製函装置12では、シートホッパー13からシート取出手段により取り出されたブランクシート11は、前記ケース移送コンベヤ15における一対のガイド部材17,18の間に臨む支持レール19,19間に底面パネル11aが載置される。このとき、底面パネル11aに連設されている前後の側面パネル11b,11cが、両ガイド部材17,18に上方から当接することにより、図2に示すように上側に折り曲げられて傾斜状態で支持される。この半製函ケース14は、前記無端チェン16,16の走行により物品箱詰め位置に向けて移送され、その過程において前記前側面パネル11bに連設される第1内フラップ11dが先ず待機位置に臨む第1折曲手段20により仮折曲げ位置まで折り曲げられる。そして、半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置に到来してケース移送コンベヤ15が停止されたときに、前記ケース位置決め手段が作動して半製函ケース14が物品箱詰め位置に位置決めされると共に、前記第2折曲手段21が待機位置から折曲位置まで回動され、前記後側面パネル11cに連設される第2内フラップ11eが仮折曲げ位置まで折曲げられる。これによって物品箱詰め位置の半製函ケース14は、上方および物品供給側の側方が開口した半製函状態となる。

前記物品箱詰め位置に半製函ケース14が到来すると、前記移送装置30の反転用シリンダ55が逆付勢され、前記回動アーム50が略180度回動して保持具52で把持している中仕切り26を、上下が反転した起立姿勢で半製函ケース14における物品収容部S上の幅方向の略中央に移送する。なお、この中仕切り26は、物品収容部Sから側方に延出する延出部26aが保持具52で把持された状態で、物品収容部Sへの被包装物22の供給に支障を来さない起立姿勢で安定的に支持される。
