Claims (7)
- 長波長帯域の波長多重化された入力光信号を増幅する光ファイバ増幅器において、
既設定された波長の1次ポンピング光を出力する第1ポンピング光源と、
前記入力光信号の増幅される前の光強さを検出する光検出部と、
前記第1ポンピング光源から出力された1次ポンピング光により1次ポンピングされて短波長帯域の自発放出光を発生し、さらに該自発放出光により2次ポンピングされて長波長帯域の誘導放出光を出力するエルビウム添加光ファイバと、
前記自発放出光と同一の波長帯域の2次ポンピング光を出力すると共に、出力制御信号に従って該2次ポンピング光の光強さを制御して、前記エルビウム添加光ファイバの2次ポンピング量を調節する第2ポンピング光源と、
前記光検出部で検出した前記入力光信号の光強さから前記入力光信号のチャネル数と光強さ損失量を算出し、該チャネル数がアド/ドロップされた際の該入力光信号の損失量を補償するための前記出力制御信号を前記第2ポンピング光源に伝送する制御部と、からなることを特徴とする長波長光ファイバ増幅器。 - 長波長帯域の入力光信号と短波長帯域の2次ポンピング光を一つのポートに出力する第1波長選択結合器と、
該第1波長選択結合器の前方に設置され、該第1波長選択結合器から受信した入力光信号の一部を分割して光検出部に出力するビームスプリッタと、
エルビウム添加光ファイバの後方に設置され、前記ビームスプリッタから受信した長波長帯域の入力光信号と1次ポンピング光を一つのポートに出力する第2波長選択結合器と、
前記ビームスプリッタと前記第2波長選択結合器との間に接続され、該ビームスプリッタ方向に進行する逆進行光を遮断する第1アイソレータと、
エルビウム添加光ファイバの前方に設置され、該エルビウム添加光ファイバ方向に進行する逆進行光を遮断する第2アイソレータと、をさらに含んでなる請求項1記載の長波長光ファイバ増幅器。 - 第2ポンピング光源は、入力光信号の進行方向に2次ポンピング光を出力する請求項1記載の長波長光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第1ポンピング光源は980nm波長の1次ポンピング光を出力する請求項1記載の長波長光ファイバ増幅器。
- エルビウム添加光ファイバは、1528〜1562nm波長範囲の短波長帯域の自発放出光を発生する請求項1記載の長波長光ファイバ増幅器。
- 光検出部は、レジスタ、A/D変換器、多数のフォトダイオードを含む請求項1記載の長波長光ファイバ増幅器。
- 長波長帯域の波長多重化された入力光信号を増幅する光ファイバ増幅器において、
前記入力光信号の一部を分割するビームスプリッタと、
長波長帯域の入力光信号と1次ポンピング光を一つのポートに出力する第1波長選択結合器と、
前記ビームスプリッタと前記第1波長選択結合器の間に接続され、該ビームスプリッタ方向に進行する逆進行光を遮断するための第1アイソレータと、
前記第1波長選択結合器の一側に接続され、既設定された波長の1次ポンピング光を出力する第1ポンピング光源と、
前記第1波長選択結合器の前方に位置し、前記1次ポンピング光により1次ポンピングされて短波長帯域の自発放出光を発生し、さらに該自発放出光により2次ポンピングされて長波長帯域の誘導放出光を出力するエルビウム添加光ファイバと、
前記ビームスプリッタの一側に接続され、該ビームスプリッタで一部分割された入力光信号から前記入力光信号の増幅される前の光強さを検出する光検出部と、
前記エルビウム添加光ファイバの前方に設置され、該エルビウム添加光ファイバから出力される長波長帯域の誘導放出光を通過させ、短波長帯域の2次ポンピング光は該エルビウム添加光ファイバに入力させる第2波長選択結合器と、
該第2波長選択結合器の一側に接続され、前記自然放出光と同一波長の2次ポンピング光を出力すると共に、出力制御信号に従って該2次ポンピング光の光強さを制御して、前記エルビウム添加光ファイバの2次ポンピング量を調節する第2ポンピング光源と、
前記第2波長選択結合器の前方に設置され、該第2波長選択結合器方向に進行する逆方向光を遮断する第2アイソレータと、
前記光検出部で検出した前記入力光信号の光強さから前記入力光信号のチャネル数と光強さ損失量を算出し、該チャネル数がアド/ドロップされた際の該入力光信号の損失量を補償するための前記出力制御信号を前記第2ポンピング光源に伝送する制御部と、からなることを特徴とする長波長光ファイバ増幅器。
