【考案が解決しようとする課題】
従来のサイドミラーでは、自動車の側面後方の視界が十分確保されているとは 言えず、バックミラー及び運転者が横を向いて目視できる視界と合わせても死角 が生じており、車線変更等の際、には、その部分の確認のために、運転者は覗き こむようにして後方を目視しなければならない。そのため、走行中に前方の視界 がゼロになってしまう危険を有している。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために、サイドミラーを部分的に外側へ向けることにより 自動車側面後方の視界を拡大した。外側へ向ける部分については、図面に示すも のの他、サイドミラーの形状により上部あるいは下部を外側へ向けるものも考え られる。

【考案の効果】
サイドミラーでの自動車側面後方の死角が解消され、運転者の後方確認時の危 険が減少する。
