Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は、一方には好ましくはアルミニウム箔の金属
層を他方には熱可塑性材料の表面コーティングを有する
積層パッキング材料の移動するウエブに沿って誘導加熱
により連続溶接を連続的に実施する装置に関する。
[従来技術] 誘導加熱による積層パッキング材料の溶接は周知であ
り、包装産業に使用されている。そのような積層材料の
一例は、紙および厚紙のキャリヤ、アルミニウム箔およ
び積層の内外面に沿う熱可塑性材料のコーティングを有
する。
誘導溶接の技術は、交流の流れる導体の周りの磁場が
隣接する導電性材料に電流を誘導しうることに基づき、
それは材料の抵抗に応じて多かれ少なかれ材料のかなり
の加熱を生ずる。従って、誘導溶接においては、所要の
溶接が受け入れられるような同じ形状の誘導子ループま
たはコイルがアルミニウム箔を含んだ積層に隣接して取
り付けられ、積層は接合される材料に一緒に押し付けら
れる。アルミニウム箔は、適当に選択された電流、周波
数および処理期間によって、コイルに対応するパターン
に加熱され、材料は所要の温度、すなわち熱可塑性材料
の隣接した層をシール温度まで加熱するのに十分な温度
まで加熱され、重なり合った熱可塑性材料を一緒に融解
させ、緊密な、耐久性のあるシールを製造することがで
きる。
現代の液体包装品を製造する方法において、熱可塑性
材料でコーティングされた平坦なウエブは、充填機械で
管に形成され、その後に内容物を充填され、互いに離れ
て位置する狭い区域に沿って管の縦方向に対して直角に
シールされる。
これに関連して、パッキング材料管を個々の包装品に
分割する横方向溶接に、誘導溶接を使用することが普通
である。
平らなパッキング材料のウエブから連続パイプすなわ
ち管を製造する際、ウエブの端部区域は重なり接触状に
重ね合わされ、その後、前記重なった端部区域は加熱お
よび表面融着によって結合される。
平らなウエブから連続管を製造する普通の方法は、重
なった端部区域を高温空気の力を借りて一緒に溶接する
こと、いわゆる縦方向接合溶接を含み、その方法によっ
て重なり合った熱可塑性層はシール温度に加熱され、そ
の後これらの層は一緒に加熱されまた同時に冷却され
る。
極めて屡々、一つの端部区域は狭い熱可塑性物質の条
片を設けられ、該条片は、二つの端部区域が連続管を作
るため一緒にされる前に、まず材料ウエブの一つの端部
区域に溶接される。
これは、接合部が熱可塑性物質によって完全に覆われ
た包装の内側に得られるように、実施される。さもなけ
れば、接合部の一端は包装内側に向かって開き、これ
は、パッキング積層の紙または厚紙のキャリヤ層が内容
物に直接接触し、内容物がその後キャリヤ層に侵入し紙
繊維を溶解し得ることを意味する。熱可塑性条片の溶接
も、縦方向接合部と同様に全体的に高温空気で実施され
る。
[発明が解決すべき課題] しかしながら、この方法は、充填機械の比較的長いウ
オームアップ期間、すなわち、高温空気要素を加熱する
のに必要な時間を要する。さらに、充填機械の短い生産
停止において、中断なしに連続した長い縦方向接合部を
得るように接合部を再加熱する必要がある。そのような
装置は、現在、工程を完全に自動化するため多数の可動
部分を要する。それは、接合部を互いに押し付ける加圧
ローラを外さなければならず、かつ別の加熱要素によっ
て加圧ローラの下の区域を加熱しなければならないから
である。
本発明の目的は、積層パッキング材料の溶接を誘導加
熱によって実施しうる装置を得ることにある。
本発明の別の目的は、機械の加熱時間を減少しかつ短
い生産停止に伴う再加熱の不便さを回避することにあ
る。
[課題を解決するための手段] 上記およびその他の目的は、本発明の連続誘導溶接装
置によって達成される。この装置は、交流電源に接続し
た導電コイルから誘電熱を用いて、熱可塑性材料で被覆
された少なくとも一つの金属層を有する積層パッキング
材料の移動するウエブに沿って連続溶接を行うものであ
る。装置は、導電材料から成る少なくとも一つの誘導子
板を具備した誘導子を有し、この誘導子板には、誘導子
板の長手方向に沿って非対称状に延在する第1の透孔
と、該透孔から誘導子板の外側縁の一つまで延在する第
2の透孔とが設けられる。誘導子板は、第2の透孔のど
ちら側でも交流電源に電気的に接続可能である。この装
置は第1の透孔が長い誘導子板の長さの大部分にわたっ
て延在し、それによって該誘導子板を幅の広い部分と狭
い部分に分割し、広い部分が狭い部分の幅よりも少なく
とも2倍幅広であることを特徴とする。
以下、図面を参照して本発明の実施例を詳細に説明す
る。
[実施例] 第1図および第2図には、互いにある距離を隔てて設
けられたほぼ同じ形状の2つの長い金属板1を有する装
置が示されている。装置の誘導子を構成するこれらの金
属板には、金属板1の長さの大部分に沿って延びる第1
の透孔2が設けられている。第1の透孔2は板1の幅に
対して非対称的に設けられている。板は、互いに近接し
て或は互いにある距離をおいて設置されかつ金属板に対
応する面をカバーするように構成された金属ワイヤまた
は金属条片によって置換することができる。
好ましい実施例において、第1の透孔2は板1を狭い
部分4と広い部分3とに分割し、広い部分3は狭い部分
4(幅d)より3倍以上広い。スペースがないために3
倍広い部分3を形成することができない場合には、広い
部分3を狭い部分4の2倍にすることができる。しかし
ながら、この場合には、広い部分3の下側のパッキング
材料8の増大加熱を考慮に入れる要がある。二つの誘導
子板1の距離は、中間パッキング材料8に対する良好な
誘導的結合が得られるように、選択しなければならな
い。第2図において、その距離は幅dの半分或は半分以
下になるように選択される。
金属板1の長さは、それらが少なくともほぼ1カット
オフ長さ、すなわちパッキング材料8の二つの横方向接
合部間の距離となるように選択される。このようにし
て、比較的長い板1はパッキング材料8が装置を通って
移動する時に速度の差によって生ずる加熱の差を平均化
するのに役立つため、一層均一な加熱が得られる。
パッキング材料8の運動方向に関して誘導子1の遠い
端部には、孔5が設けられている。この孔5には、誘導
子の加熱区域内に一つ以上の加圧ローラ6が設置されて
いる。加圧ローラ6はある種の電気絶縁性の材料から作
られ、かつフェライトリング7が同心に挿入されてい
る。
板1には、第1の透孔2から板1の端部の一つまで、
第2の透孔12が設けられ、第2の透孔12を画定する二つ
の側面は互いに電気的に絶縁されている。したがって、
電流は、第2の透孔12の一方の側の点13を交流電源10の
第1端子に接続し、かつ交流電源の第2端子を第2の透
孔12の他方の側の点14に接続することにより、板1を通
って流れる。
第2図は、熱可塑性物質の条片9を装置に導入しかつ
誘導的に加熱されたパッキング材料の端部8に溶接する
方法を示す。加圧ローラ6は、溶接工程から良好な接着
が得られることを確実にする。
第3図には、二枚の板1が交流電源、すなわち、一定
出力が得られかつ最適な溶接工程のために制御すること
のできるいわゆるIH発電機に接続される方法が示されて
いる。金属板1の熱損失は比較的少なく、周囲に対する
熱発散に関する問題は無視できる。そこで、装置全体
を、排熱の拡散を考慮する必要なく、充填機械に設置す
ることができる。
二枚の誘導子板1は互いに接続され、それらは直列に
接続された二つのコイルを構成する。その結果、同じ方
向の電流が両方の誘導子板1に流れ、フラッタ、すなわ
ち装置を通る運動中に垂直に変化するとしても、中間パ
ッキング材料8には有効に誘導された電流が得られる。
中間材料8に誘導された電流は、誘導子板1における
場合と、ほぼ同じ広がりおよび密度を生ずる。もし板1
の第1の透孔2が板1を狭い部分4(d)と広い部分3
(a・d)に分割すると(上記実施例におけるaは=3
である)、下記の出力ファクターが得られる。
狭い部分4におけるパッキング材料8の抵抗をRとす
ると、広い部分3の抵抗はR/aである。
短い側面を計算上無視すると、パッキング材料8にお
いて発生する全出力Ptotは、 Ptot=I2(R+R/a) である。
二つの部分における動力の発生は、下記の式によって
比較できる。

誘導子板1におけるそのような分配によって、狭い部
分4に得られる出力は、広い部分3に得られる出力の3
倍となる。
そこで、誘導子板1の広い部分3の下の中間材料8に
おける加熱は、出力比がaに等しくかつ広い幅3がa倍
の質量を有すると計算される。加熱比はa2、実施例では
32=9になる。すなわち、狭い部分4における加熱は広
い部分3の加熱の9倍となる。
実際、このことは、誘導子板1の狭い部分4の下を通
る材料8は熱可塑性物質が溶融しかつ他端と或は熱可塑
性条片9と一緒に溶接される範囲まで加熱されることを
示している。広い部分3の下を通る材料8においては、
材料8を僅かに温めることのできる電流が誘導される。
加圧ローラ6が配置された孔5においては、供給され
る電流が板1の形状に従い、その結果、パッキング材料
端部8から離れる。パッキング材料8に誘導された電流
はできるだけ緊密に板1に沿うように流れ、したがっ
て、誘導された電流は加圧ローラ6の下を孔5の遠い端
部まで達する。
加圧ローラ6はほぼ電気絶縁材料から作られ、フェラ
イトリング7を同心的に挿入され、そこで電気絶縁材料
がフェライトリング7を囲む。加圧ローラ6の軸線上に
軸方向に設けられたフェライトリング7は、材料端部8
の直ぐ上下に存在しない板1の代わりに、端部に沿う誘
導電流の制御に役立つ。第1図において、フェライトリ
ング7は同リングが溝のほぼ延長部にくるように設置さ
れる。
何等かの理由で充填機械の短期の生産停止が必要であ
る場合、溶接は加圧ローラ6の接触点11まで実施され
る。誘導溶接を余熱期間なしに直接起動することによ
り、また機械が再始動する時に材料8が加圧ローラ6の
直ぐ下で加熱されるため、長い接合部のいかなる部分も
シールされないままになることはない。
第4図には、誘導加熱により連続した管をシールする
装置を具体化する方法が図示されている。装置は、第1
図に示すように、二枚のいちじるしく長い金属板1より
なり、板は僅かに湾曲して管の形成を容易にしている。
取付用15と電流供給用16,17の別々の脚は、たとえば、
装置全体の固定装置を兼ねた絶縁板によって互いに絶縁
される。図示を明確にするため、第4図には絶縁板を図
示していない。
脚18,19だけが互いに電気的に接続され、第5図にも
図示されている。電流供給脚16,17は、交流を装置に供
給するIH発電機10に接続されている。
第1図から第3図に示す平面図に対する態様で、一つ
以上の加圧ローラ6が誘導子板1内の孔5に設けられて
いる。この実施例の孔5を囲む金属は、加圧ローラ6の
下の誘導電流を増強するため多数回巻いたコイルを構成
するように形成され、そのため、容易にシールされた縦
方向接合部はいかなる点においても弱くなく、したがっ
て完成した包装に漏洩を生ずることがない。
上記記載から、本発明は移動する包装材料のウエブを
誘導熱によって連続的に溶接する装置を可能にするもの
であることが明らかである。本発明装置は、ウオーミン
グアップ期間を要せず、かつ排熱により周囲を混乱させ
ることはない。
本発明装置はまた、短い停止の場合、余分の加熱要素
とそのための機械部品および加圧ローラの運動を含む解
決法を採用することなしに、連続溶接を達成することが
でる。
[発明の効果] 本発明は、導電材料から成る少なくとも一枚の誘導子
板に、板の幅に関して非対称な透孔を設けて、板を幅の
狭い部分と、その部分よりも少なくとも2倍幅の広い部
分とに分割し、この誘導子板を、幅の広い部分および狭
い部分間に電流を通す誘導コイルとして用いることによ
り、積層パッキング材料の溶接を誘導加熱によって実施
すると共に、加熱時間を減少し、且つ短い生産停止に伴
う再加熱の不便さを回避することができる。

Claims (7)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】交流電源(10)に接続した導電コイルから
    の誘導熱を用いて、熱可塑性材料で被覆された少なくと
    も一つの金属層を有する積層パッキング材料(8)の移
    動するウエブに沿って連続溶接を行う溶接装置であっ
    て、導電材料から成る少なくとも一つの誘導子板(1)
    を具備した誘導子を有し、この誘導子板には、誘導子板
    (1)の長手方向に沿って非対称状に延在する第1の透
    孔(2)と、該透孔から誘導子板(1)の外側縁の一つ
    まで延在する第2の透孔(12)とが設けられ、誘導子板
    (1)が第2の透孔(12)のどちら側でも交流電源(1
    0)に電気的に接続可能である連続誘導溶接装置におい
    て、 第1の透孔(2)は長い誘導子板(1)の長さの大部分
    にわたって延在し、それによって該誘導子板を幅の広い
    部分(3)と狭い部分(4)に分割し、広い部分(3)
    が狭い部分(4)の幅(d)よりも少なくとも2倍幅広
    であることを特徴とする連続誘導溶接装置。
  2. 【請求項2】請求項1記載の装置において、誘導子は、
    互いにある距離だけ離れて配置されかつ直接に接続され
    た二つのコイルを構成するように互いに電気的に接続さ
    れた同じ形状および構造の二枚の誘導子板よりなる連続
    誘導溶接装置。
  3. 【請求項3】請求項1記載の装置において、誘導子板
    (1)の広い部分(3)は狭い部分(4)よりも少なく
    とも3倍幅広である連続誘導溶接装置。
  4. 【請求項4】請求項2記載の装置において、二枚の誘導
    子板(1)の間の距離が誘導子板(1)の狭い部分
    (4)の幅の半分ないし半分以下である連続誘導溶接装
    置。
  5. 【請求項5】請求項4記載の装置において、パッキング
    材料(8)のウエブは二枚の誘導子板(1)の間を移動
    するように構成され、パッキング材料(8)のウエブの
    溶接される部分は誘導子板(1)と平行に、該誘導子板
    の狭い部分(4)に沿って移動する連続誘導溶接装置。
  6. 【請求項6】請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の装
    置において、一つ以上の加圧ローラ(6)が誘導子内に
    配置される連続誘導溶接装置。
  7. 【請求項7】請求項6記載の装置において、加圧ローラ
    (6)はほぼ電気絶縁材料から作られ、中心にフェライ
    トリング(7)を挿入され、電気絶縁材料がフェライト
    リング(7)を同心に囲んでいる連続誘導溶接装置。
