【０００１】本発明は８０％以下の、より低揮発性の有
機化合物を含むヘアスプレーに関する。
【０００２】それらの最も基本的な形において、毛髪固
定組成物は皮膜形成ポリマーを含み、それは、通常１種
以上のアルコールまたはアルコールおよび水の混合物で
ある固着剤およびデリバリー系として作用する。エアゾ
ールデリバリーの場合、デリバリー系は、通常に揮発性
である炭化水素である噴射剤をも含むであろう。揮発性

するために充分な量で中和された毛髪固定ポリマー２〜
２０％、ヘキサメチルジシロキサン、ビスフェニルヘキ
サメチコンおよびイソセチルアルコールからなる群より
選ばれる１種以上の疎水性添加剤０．６〜５％、好まし
くは１〜４％、１種以上の揮発性有機化合物８０％以
下、および総量１００％の残部の水を含む向上したスプ
レー特性を示すヘアスプレー組成物に関する。好ましく

０％の水を含む。
【０００４】別の態様において、本発明は、８０％以下
の揮発性有機化合物を含む水性溶剤中に、後に毛髪から
除去性を付与するために充分な量で中和された毛髪固定
ポリマー２〜２０重量％を含むヘアスプレー組成物のス
プレー特性を向上する方法に関し、この方法は、組成物
と、ヘキサメチルジシロキサン、ビスフェニルヘキサメ
チコンおよびイソセチルアルコールからなる群より選ば

バリー系に配合されたときに、標準的な毛髪固定樹脂へ
の特定の疎水性添加剤の添加はそれらの樹脂のスプレー

ルアルコールであり、そして、これらはヘアスプレー配
合物の０．６〜５重量％、好ましくは約１〜４重量％の

ト／オクチルアクリルアミド、および、ポリビニルメチ
ルエーテル／無水マレイン酸のアルキルエステル、ジグ
リコール／シクロヘキサンジメタノール／イソフタレー
ト／スルホイソフタレートコポリマー、ビニルアセテー
ト／ブチルマレエートおよびイソボルニルアクリレート
コポリマー、ビニルカプロラクタム／ＰＶＰ／ジメチル
アミノエチルメタクリレート、ビニルアセテート／アル
キルマレエート半エステル／Ｎ−置換アクリルアミドタ
ーポリマー、ビニルカプロラクタム／ビニルピロリドン
／メタクリロアミドプロピルトリメチルアンモニウムク
ロリドターポリマー、および、メタクリレート／アクリ
レートコポリマー／アミン塩を含む。
【０００８】配合物中、これらのポリマーの数種は、水
性デリバリー系中への溶解度および分散性を付与するた

およびシャンプーにより除去性を付与するためにアルカ

噴射剤として作用する水および１種以上の揮発性有機化
合物のブレンドであろう。揮発性有機化合物（ＶＯＣ）
含有量の総量は環境規制により制限されるであろう。そ

空気および二酸化炭素を含む。本発明の毛髪固定組成物
中に使用される噴射剤の量はヘアスプレー組成物の３〜
６０重量％、好ましくは総組成物基準で３〜４０重量％
を含みうる。上記の噴射剤は揮発性有機化合物であるこ
とは注目されるべきである。しかし、ヒドロフルオロカ
ーボンおよび圧縮ガスの放出は、現在、環境規制を受け
ない。それ故、これらの化合物は総ＶＯＣ含有率に含め
ないで本発明のヘアスプレー組成物中に配合されうる。
もし圧縮ガスまたはヒドロフルオロカーボンが単独の噴
射剤として、または他の噴射剤との組み合わせで用いら
れるならば、それは総配合物の２０重量％までの量で存
在しうる。
【００１１】スプレー特性には必要ないが、スプレー組
成物に特定の改質特性を付与するために任意の従来の添
加剤も本発明のスプレー組成物中に含まれてよい。可塑

エステル；皮膚軟化剤、潤滑剤および湿潤剤、例えば、

および他の着色剤；増粘剤；防食剤；粘着防止剤；結合
剤；帯電防止剤；および保存剤はこのような添加剤に含
まれる。これらの添加剤はそれらの機能を達成するため

の総重量基準で、各々０．１〜１０重量％、総量０．１

クチルアクリルアミド、２５部のメチルメタクリレー
ト、２０部のアクリル酸および５部のｔ−ブチルアミノ
エチルメタクリレートの重量部でモノマー組成を有する
コポリマー（５０ｔ−ＯＡ／２５ＭＭＡ／２０ＡＡ／５
ｔ−ＢＡＥＭ）５重量％、および表１に示す添加剤のう
ちの１種１重量％を含む一連のヘアスプレー配合物を製
造した（ヘキサメチルジシロキサンも４％および５％で
試験された。）。ポリマーの遊離酸分はＡＭＰにより９
０％まで中和された。このヘアスプレー配合物は西洋人

径) アクチュエーターを有するSeaquist NS34 バルブ

ムオリフィスx0.040"(1.02mm) ディップチューブ直径)
で、６インチ（１５．２ｃｍ）の距離から２秒間のバー
ストで輸送された。
【００１３】スプレー特性は正（＋）または負（−）の
いずれかで等級化された。正の等級は広いスプレー幅
で、微細な噴霧で、小さい粒子サイズで、毛髪またはア
クチュエーター上で発泡しないことを示す。負の等級は
狭いスプレー幅で、アクチュエーターでの分離し、大き
な粒子サイズで、毛髪またはアクチュエーター上での明
らかな発泡を示す。結果を表１に示す。結果はどの添加
剤が優れたスプレー特性を提供するかを予測することは
ヘアスプレー配合物の物理特性（表面張力および粘度）
から明らかでないことを示す。結果は、種々の可能な添
加剤のうち、３種のみが５５％ＶＯＣヘアスプレーのス
プレー特性を向上した。

【００１５】実施例２ ２２重量％エタノール、３３重量％ジメチルエーテルお
よび残部の水の溶剤系中で、５０部のｔ−オクチルアク
リルアミド、１５部のアクリル酸、５部のヒドロキシプ
ロピルメタクリレート、５部のｔ−ブチルアミノエチル
メタクリレートおよび２５部のメチルメタクリレートの
重量部でモノマー組成を有するコポリマー（５０ｔ−Ｏ
Ａ／１５ＡＡ／５ＨＰＭＡ／５ｔ−ＢＡＥＭ／２５ＭＭ
Ａ）と多くの市販のポリマーともにヘキサメチルジシロ
キサンを用いて一連のヘアスプレー配合物を製造した。
ヘアスプレーを実施例１と同様に試験し、等級化し、そ
して結果を表２に報告した。結果は向上したスプレー特
性がヘキサメチルジシロキサンの使用で得られることを
示す。

【００１７】実施例３ 本実施例は５５％ＶＯＣ（３３％ＤＭＥ、２２％エタノ
ール、残部の水）で５％ポリマーを含み、そして１％の
ヘキサメチルジシロキサンを含む、および含まないヘア
スプレー配合物の主観的な特性を評価する。ポリマーは
実施例１と同一のモノマー組成を有した。ヘアスプレー
は１０インチ（２５．４ｃｍ）長さの褐色毛の２ｇスワ
ッチ上でブラインドパネルにより評価された。各パネル
部材はヘキサメチルジシロキサンを含むヘアスプレーに
より処理された試験スワッチおよびヘキサメチルジシロ
キサンを含まないヘアスプレーにより処理された試験ス
ワッチを含む４組のヘアスワッチを数的な性能等級を用
いて評価した。評価において、剛性は軟性よりも優れ；
クシへの抵抗なしは抵抗ありよりも優れ；毛髪およびク
シ上へのフレーク蓄積なしはフレーク蓄積ありよりも優
れ；光沢ありは光沢なしよりも優れ；そしてクシを入れ
た後の静電気による翻りなしは静電気による翻りありよ
りも優れていた。試料毎に計８つの評価が行われた。パ
ネル結果を統計的に分析し、（９５％の信頼性）そして
ヘキサメチルジシロキサンを含むヘアスプレーによりス
プレーされたスワッチをヘキサメチルジシロキサン含ま
ないヘアスプレーによりスプレーされたスワッチと比較
して優れている（＋）、同等（＝）、劣っている（−）
として要約した。パネル評価の結果を下記の表３に示
し、ヘアスプレー配合物が匹敵する性能を有することを
示す。

【００１９】実施例４ 本実施例は５５％ＶＯＣ（３３％ＤＭＥ、２２％エタノ
ール、残部の水）で５％ポリマーを含み、そして１％の
ヘキサメチルジシロキサンを含む、および含まないヘア
スプレー配合物の耐湿性を測定する。ポリマーは実施例
１と同一のモノマー組成を有した。耐湿性は５時間にわ
たる高湿度キャビネット中でのカール保持力として測定
した。結果を表４に示し、９５％の信頼性で全ての時間
で統計的相違はなかった。
【００２０】試験手順は次のようであった。各ヘアスプ
レー系は約２ｇの重量の６インチ（１５．２ｃｍ）のRe
mi Blue String European Brown Hairの束の９個のスワ
ッチ上で試験され、結果を収拾して平均した。各スワッ
チを１０％シャンプー溶液で洗浄し、濯ぎ、そして４９
℃（１２０°Ｆ）で乾燥した。それを再度濡らし、櫛を
入れ、巻き、そして１／２インチ（１．２７ｃｍ）直径
のTeflon（商標）マンドレルに固定し、４９℃（１２０
°Ｆ）で乾燥した。乾燥したとき、それをマンドレルか
ら除去し、得られたカールを吊り下げた。
【００２１】各スワッチのカール高さを測定し、それか
ら、面毎での２秒間の吹付によりカールを均一にスプレ
ーした。カールを水平に横たえ、１時間空気乾燥させ
た。それから、乾燥したカールを再度、吊り下げ、２２
℃（７２°Ｆ）、９０％相対湿度でチャンバー中にセッ
トし、そしてカール高さを直後、１５、３０、６０、お
よび９０分、２、３、４および５時間後に測定した。
【００２２】％カール保持を式（Ｌ−Ｌt ）／（Ｌ−Ｌ
o ）ｘ１００により計算し、ここで、Ｌは完全に伸びた
毛髪の長さであり、Ｌo はスプレーおよび暴露前の毛髪
の長さであり、Ｌt はスプレーおよび暴露後の毛髪の長
さである。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 毛髪固定(hair fixative) ポリマー２〜
    ２０％、ヘキサメチルジシロキサン、ビスフェニルヘキ
    サメチコンおよびイソセチルアルコールからなる群より
    選ばれる１種以上の疎水性添加剤０．６〜５％、１種以
    上の揮発性有機化合物８０％以下、圧縮もしくは液化ガ
    スからなる群より選ばれる噴射剤０〜２０％、および残
    部の水を、総量で１００％として重量基準で含む向上し
    たスプレー特性を示すヘアスプレー組成物。
  2. 【請求項２】 毛髪固定ポリマーが、ビニルアセテート
    ／クロトネート／ビニルネオデカノエートコポリマー、
    オクチルアクリルアミド／アクリレート／ブチルアミノ
    エチルメタクリレートコポリマー、ビニルアセテート／
    クロトネート、ポリビニルピロリドン（ＰＶＰ）、ポリ
    ビニルピロリドン／ビニルアセテートコポリマー、ＰＶ
    Ｐアクリレートコポリマー、ビニルアセテート／クロト
    ン酸／ビニルプロピオネート、アクリレート／アクリル
    アミド、アクリレート／オクチルアクリルアミド、およ
    び、ポリビニルメチルエーテル／無水マレイン酸のアル
    キルエステル、ジグリコール／シクロヘキサンジメタノ
    ール／イソフタレート／スルホイソフタレートコポリマ
    ー、ビニルアセテート／ブチルマレエートおよびイソボ
    ルニルアクリレートコポリマー、ビニルカプロラクタム
    ／ＰＶＰ／ジメチルアミノエチルメタクリレート、ビニ
    ルアセテート／アルキルマレエート半エステル／Ｎ−置

    る群より選ばれる請求項１に記載のヘアスプレー組成

  3. 【請求項３】 揮発性有機化合物が、低沸点アルコー
    ル、アセタールおよびケトン；エーテル；低沸点Ｃ3 −
    Ｃ6 直鎖および分枝鎖炭化水素からなる群より選ばれる
    請求項１に記載のヘアスプレー組成物。
  4. 【請求項４】 噴射剤が、気相窒素、空気、二酸化炭素
    およびハロゲン化炭化水素からなる群より選ばれる請求
    項１に記載のヘアスプレー組成物。
  5. 【請求項５】 総量で１００％として重量基準で８０％
    以下の揮発性有機化合物を含む水性溶剤中に毛髪固定ポ
    リマー２〜２０％を含むヘアスプレー組成物のスプレー
    特性を向上する方法であって、前記方法は、ヘキサメチ
    ルジシロキサン、ビスフェニルヘキサメチコンおよびイ
    ソセチルアルコールからなる群より選ばれる１種以上の
    疎水性添加剤０．６〜５％とヘアスプレー組成物とを配
    合することを含む方法。
  6. 【請求項６】 毛髪固定ポリマーが、ビニルアセテート
    ／クロトネート／ビニルネオデカノエートコポリマー、
    オクチルアクリルアミド／アクリレート／ブチルアミノ
    エチルメタクリレートコポリマー、ビニルアセテート／
    クロトネート、ポリビニルピロリドン（ＰＶＰ）、ポリ
    ビニルピロリドン／ビニルアセテートコポリマー、ＰＶ
    Ｐアクリレートコポリマー、ビニルアセテート／クロト
    ン酸／ビニルプロピオネート、アクリレート／アクリル
    アミド、アクリレート／オクチルアクリルアミド、およ
    び、ポリビニルメチルエーテル／無水マレイン酸のアル
    キルエステル、ジグリコール／シクロヘキサンジメタノ
    ール／イソフタレート／スルホイソフタレートコポリマ
    ー、ビニルアセテート／ブチルマレエートおよびイソボ
    ルニルアクリレートコポリマー、ビニルカプロラクタム
