Abstract
Description
食品包装などのいくつかの包装は、外部環境から内容物を保護し、より長い有効期間を促進するように設計されている。かかる包装は、多くの場合、低い酸素透過率(OTR)及び水蒸気透過率(WVTR)を有するバリアフィルムを使用して構築される。しかしながら、バリア特性のバランスを保つ上で、例えば、漏出を避けるための包装の統合性もまた考慮される。
(1)当該エチレン系ポリマーが、エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマー、エチレンホモポリマー、又はそれらの組み合わせを含み、当該エチレン系ポリマーが、0.900~0.970g/cm3の密度及び0.1~20g/10分のメルトインデックス(I2)を有し、
(2)当該エチレン酸コポリマーが、エチレンモノマーであって、当該エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する当該モノマーの総重量に基づいて少なくとも50重量%の、エチレンモノマーと、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーであって、当該エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する当該モノマーの総重量に基づいて1~30重量%の、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーとの重合反応生成物であり、当該エチレン酸コポリマーが、メルトインデックス(I2)又は0.7~35g/10分を有し、
当該エチレン酸コポリマーと当該エチレン系ポリマーとのメルトインデックス(I2)の差が18未満であり、当該ポリマーブレンドの酸含有量が0.2%超である、多層ポリエチレンフィルムと、(b)当該ポリエチレンフィルムの当該外層に蒸着された金属を含む金属層と、
を含む、多層構造体を提供する。
(1)当該エチレン系ポリマーが、エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマー、エチレンホモポリマー、又はそれらの組み合わせを含み、当該エチレン系ポリマーが、0.900~0.970g/cm3の密度及び0.1~20g/10分のメルトインデックス(I2)を有し、
(2)当該エチレン酸コポリマーが、エチレンモノマーであって、当該エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する当該モノマーの総重量に基づいて少なくとも50重量%の、エチレンモノマーと、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーであって、当該エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する当該モノマーの総重量に基づいて1~30重量%の、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーとの重合反応生成物であり、当該エチレン酸コポリマーが、メルトインデックス(I2)又は0.7~35g/10分を有し、
当該エチレン酸コポリマーと当該エチレン系ポリマーとのメルトインデックス(I2)の差が18未満であり、当該ポリマーブレンドの酸含有量が0.2%超である、多層ポリエチレンフィルムと、(b)当該ポリエチレンフィルムの外層に沈着した金属を含む金属層と、
を含む、多層構造体を提供する。
本発明の多層構造体は、多層ポリエチレンフィルムを含む。多層ポリエチレンフィルムは、いくつかの実施形態では、金属層(後述)の接着を促進する、また有利なことに単一の金属化フィルムにおいて良好なバリア特性と封止特性との相乗的組み合わせをもたらす、外層を含む。
MAA%=(86/72)×AA%であり、
その理由は、アクリル酸の分子量が72であり、メタクリル酸の分子量が86であるためである。
多層構造体は、ポリエチレンフィルムの外層(本明細書に記載されるエチレン系ポリマーとエチレン酸コポリマーとのポリマーブレンドを含む)上に沈着した金属を含む金属層を更に含む。金属層は、真空金属化を使用してポリエチレンフィルムの外層に適用され得る。真空金属化は、金属源を真空環境で蒸発させ、フィルムが真空槽を通過するにつれて金属蒸気がフィルムの表面上で凝縮して薄層を形成する、金属を沈着させるための周知の技術である。
いくつかの実施形態では、本発明の多層構造体は、ポリエチレンフィルムと、(上記の通り)その上に沈着した金属層と、を含む。指定の酸含有量、及びエチレン酸コポリマーのメルトインデックスとエチレン系ポリマーのメルトインデックスとの間の差を提供するためにポリエチレンフィルムの外層にエチレン酸コポリマーを組み込むと、有利なことに、金属とフィルムの外層との間の接着が改善され、これは、フィルム及びそれが組み込まれ得る他の構造体(例えば、積層体)の性能に利益をもたらす。上述したように、金属層は、良好なバリア特性を提供することができ、ポリエチレンフィルムにシーラント層を含めることにより、フィルムを多層構造体においてシーラントフィルムとして機能させることができる。
本明細書に記載される様々な実施形態の多層構造体を使用して、積層体を形成することができる。そのような積層体は、本明細書に記載の多層構造体のいずれからも形成することができる。
本発明の多層構造体又は積層体を使用して、包装などの物品を形成することができる。そのような物品は、本明細書に記載の多層構造体又は積層体のいずれからも形成することができる。
本明細書に別段示されない限り、本発明の態様の説明では以下の分析方法を使用する。
密度測定のための試料は、ASTM D 1928に従って調製する。ポリマー試料は、3分間、190℃及び30,000psi(207MPa)で、次いで1分間、21℃及び207MPaで押圧される。測定は、ASTM D792、方法Bを使用して、試料の押圧から1時間以内に行う。
メルトインデックスI2(又はI2)及びI10(又はI10)は、それぞれ、ASTM D-1238に従って、190℃、2.16kg及び10kg荷重で測定する。その値は、g/10分で報告する。「メルトフローレート」は、ポリプロピレン系の樹脂に関して使用し、ASTM D1238(230℃、2.16kg)に従って求める。
メルトフローレートは、ASTM D-1238又はISO1133(230℃、2.16kg)に従って測定する。
金属化フィルム(例えば、その上に金属層が沈着しているポリエチレンフィルムを含む多層構造体)の光学密度は、光学密度計(Shenzhen Linshang Technology製のモデル番号LS177)を使用して測定する。
Claims (14)
- 多層構造体であって、
(a)外層が、少なくとも1つのエチレン系ポリマー及び少なくとも1つのエチレン酸コポリマーのポリマーブレンドを含む多層ポリエチレンフィルムであって、
(1)前記エチレン系ポリマーが、エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマー、エチレンホモポリマー、又はそれらの組み合わせを含み、前記エチレン系ポリマーが、0.900~0.970g/cm3の密度及び0.1~20g/10分のメルトインデックス(I2)を有し、
(2)前記エチレン酸コポリマーが、エチレンモノマーであって、前記エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する前記モノマーの総重量に基づいて少なくとも50重量%の、エチレンモノマーと、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーであって、前記エチレン酸コポリマー中に存在する前記モノマーの総重量に基づいて1~30重量%の、モノカルボン酸及びジカルボン酸からなる群から選択されるモノマーとの重合反応生成物であり、前記エチレン酸コポリマーが、メルトインデックス(I2)又は0.7~35g/10分を有し、
前記エチレン酸コポリマー及び前記エチレン系ポリマーのメルトインデックス(I2)の差が18未満であり、前記ポリマーブレンドの酸含有量が0.2%超である、多層ポリエチレンフィルムと、
(b)前記ポリエチレンフィルムの前記外層に沈着した金属を含む金属層と、
を含む多層構造体。 - 前記エチレン系ポリマーが、低密度ポリエチレン又は線状低密度ポリエチレンである、請求項1に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記酸モノマーが、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、又はそれらの組み合わせを含む、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記金属が、Al、Si、Zn、Au、Ag、Cu、Ni、Cr、Ge、Se、Ti、Sn、それらの酸化物、及びそれらの組み合わせを含む、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記金属が、Al金属、Alの酸化物、又はその両方を含む、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記金属が、真空金属化によって前記ポリエチレンフィルム上に蒸着されている、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記金属層が、20~60マイクロメートルの厚さを有する、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体。
- 前記外層が、前記外層の重量に基づいて200~4000ppmのフルオロエラストマー加工助剤を更に含む、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体。
- 請求項8に記載の多層構造体であって、前記フルオロエラストマー加工助剤が、フッ化ビニリデンのコポリマー、並びにヘキサフルオロプロピレン、クロロトリフルオロエチレン、1-ヒドロペンタフルオロプロピレン、及び2-ヒドロペンタフルオロプロピレンから選択されるコポリマー;フッ化ビニリデン、テトラフルオロエチレンと、ヘキサフルオロプロピレン又は1-若しくは2-ヒドロペンタフルオロプロピレンとのコポリマー; あるいはテトラフルオロエチレン、プロピレン、及び任意選択でフッ化ビニリデンのコポリマーである、多層構造体。
- 請求項8又は請求項9に記載の多層構造体であって、前記フルオロポリマー加工助剤が、i)フッ化ビニリデン/ヘキサフルオロプロピレン;ii)フッ化ビニリデン/ヘキサフルオロプロピレン/テトラフルオロエチレン;iii)テトラフルオロエチレン/プロピレン;又はiv)テトラフルオロエチレン/プロピレン/フッ化ビニリデンの共重合した単位を含む、多層構造体。
- 第2のフィルムと接着接触している請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の多層積層体を含む、積層体。
- 前記第2のフィルムが、ポリアミド、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリプロピレン、又はポリエチレンを含む、請求項11に記載の積層体。
- 請求項11又は請求項12に記載の積層体を含む、物品。
- 請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造体を含む、物品。
