図1は、電池100の斜視図である。図2は、図1のII-II線に沿う模式的な縦断面図である。図3は、図1のIII-III線に沿う模式的な縦断面図である。図4は、図1のIV-IV線に沿う模式的な横断面図である。以下の説明において、図面中の符号L、R、F、Rr、U、Dは、左、右、前、後、上、下を表し、図面中の符号X、Y、Zは、電池100の短辺方向、短辺方向と直交する長辺方向(電極体の長手方向ともいうことができる)、上下方向を、それぞれ表すものとする。ただし、これらは説明の便宜上の方向に過ぎず、電池100の設置形態を何ら限定するものではない。
図13に示すように、本実施形態に係る絶縁シート29は、シート底壁29aと、シート底壁20aから延び相互に対向する一対のシート第1側壁29bと、シート底壁29aから延び相互に対向する一対のシート第2側壁29c(図13では、シート第2側壁を構築する前の状態である、シート第2側壁形成部29c’の状態で掲載している)と、を備えている。シート底壁29aは、ここでは矩形状である。また、図4および図13に示すように、シート第2側壁29cは、一対のシート第2側壁形成部29c’から構成されており、シート第2側壁形成部29c’の端部どうしを熱溶着やテープの貼り付け等により接合することによって構築することができる。例えば、後述する絶縁シート129、429、529、629に関しても、絶縁シート29の構築方法を参照して構築することができる。また、図4に示すように、本実施形態では、シート第2側壁形成部29c’どうしがY方向において隙間なく接合されているが、これに限定されず、例えば隙間が存在してもよい。このように隙間が存在する場合、かかる隙間の大きさは、ここに開示される技術の効果が発揮される限りにおいて特に制限されない。かかる隙間の大きさは、概ね3mm以下であり、例えば2mm以下や1mm以下とすることができる。
電池100の製造方法は、上記したような絶縁部材70、絶縁シート29を用いることで特徴付けられる。それ以外の製造プロセスは従来同様であってよい。電池100は、絶縁部材70と絶縁シート29とに加えて、上記したような電池ケース10(外装体12および封口板14)と、電極体群20(電極体20a、20b、20c)と、電解液と、正極端子30と、負極端子40と、正極集電部50(正極第1集電部51および正極第2集電部52)と、負極集電部60(負極第1集電部61および負極第2集電部62)と、を用意し、例えば、第1取付工程と、第2取付工程と、絶縁シート接合工程、挿入工程と、封口工程と、を含む製造方法によって製造することができる。また、ここに開示される製造方法は、任意の段階でさらに他の工程を含んでもよい。

Claims (11)
- 正極および負極を含む1つまたは複数の電極体と、前記電極体を収容する電池ケースと、を備えた電池であって、
前記電池ケースは、
底壁と、前記底壁から延び相互に対向する一対の第1側壁と、前記底壁から延び相互に対向する一対の第2側壁と、前記底壁に対向する開口部と、を有する外装体と、
前記開口部を封口する封口板と、
を備えており、
前記封口板には、正極端子および負極端子が取り付けられており、
前記電極体は、
前記一対の第2側壁のうち一方の第2側壁と対向する端部から突出した正極タブ群と、
前記一対の第2側壁のうち他方の第2側壁と対向する端部から突出した負極タブ群と、
を備えており、
前記正極タブ群および前記正極端子は、正極集電部を介して電気的に接続されており、
前記正極タブ群は、前記正極タブ群の一部が前記一方の第2側壁に沿って配置されるように湾曲した状態で、前記正極集電部と接合されており、
前記負極タブ群および前記負極端子は、負極集電部を介して電気的に接続されており、
前記負極タブ群は、前記負極タブ群の一部が前記他方の第2側壁に沿って配置されるように湾曲した状態で、前記負極集電部と接合されており、
前記封口板には、絶縁部材が備えられており、
前記絶縁部材には、前記電極体を覆うように配置された絶縁シートが接合されており、前記絶縁シートは、少なくともシート底壁と、前記シート底壁から延び相互に対向する一対のシート第1側壁と、を備えており、前記シート第1側壁は前記第1側壁に対向している、電池。 - 前記絶縁シートは、さらに前記第2側壁と前記電極体との間に配置されるシート第2側壁を備える、請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記シート第2側壁は、前記正極タブ群または前記負極タブ群が存在する集電領域と、前記正極タブ群または前記負極タブ群が存在しない非集電領域と、に分離されている、請求項2に記載の電池。
- 前記絶縁部材は矩形状の幅広面を備えており、前記幅広面における短辺の長さは、前記電極体の厚みよりも小さい、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記シート底壁は矩形状であって、前記シート底壁における短辺の長さは、前記電極体の厚みよりも小さい、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記絶縁シートにおける少なくとも一部は、前記電極体と接合されている、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記絶縁部材と前記絶縁シートとの接合部の少なくとも一部は、前記電極体の前記第1側壁に沿った方向における長さをLとしたとき、前記電極体の中心部から前記第1側壁に沿った方向における(1/4)L以下の範囲内に存在している、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記一対のシート第1側壁それぞれにおいて、一方のシート第1側壁から他方のシート第1側壁にかけて固定部材が配置されている、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記シート第2側壁および前記電極体の間に、移動規制部材が配置されている、請求項2~8のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記絶縁部材は、前記正極集電部および前記負極集電部と、前記封口板と、の間に配置されている、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記絶縁部材は、前記封口板に対して接着乃至は嵌合によって固定されている、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
