第1バッテリB1は、第2バッテリB2よりも出力重量密度が低くかつエネルギ重量密度が高い。また第1バッテリB1は第2バッテリB2よりも容量が大きい。すなわち、第1バッテリB1は、エネルギ重量密度の点で第1バッテリB1よりも優れる。なお、エネルギ重量密度とは、単位重量あたりの電力量[Wh/kg]であり、出力重量密度とは、単位重量あたりの電力[W/kg]である。したがって、エネルギ重量密度が優れている第1バッテリB1は、高容量を主目的とした容量型の蓄電器であり、出力重量密度が優れている第2バッテリB2は、高出力を主目的とした出力型の蓄電器である。このため電源システム1では、第1バッテリB1を主電源として用い、第2バッテリB2をこの第1バッテリB1を補う副電源として用いる。

(1)第1バッテリB1と第2バッテリB2の合成出力によって駆動モータMを駆動するブースト走行中に、第2バッテリB2の出力が大きく低下した場合に、車両の乗員に与える減速感は、駆動モータMに出力される電力のうち第2バッテリB2の出力分の占める割合が大きくなるほど、すなわち第1バッテリB1の第1SOCが小さくなるほど大きくなる傾向がある。これに対しマネジメントECU71は、ブースト走行時における第2バッテリB2の出力電力を第2出力上限以下に制限するとともに、第1SOCが残量警告閾値以上である場合(すなわち、設定モードが通常モード又はスポーツモードである場合)、第2出力上限を第2バッテリB2の第2最大出力に設定し、第1SOCが残量警告閾値より小さい場合(すなわち、設定モードがレンジ延長モードである場合)、第2出力上限を第2最大出力より小さなレンジ延長時上限に設定する。これにより、第1SOCが残量警告閾値より小さい場合、すなわち上述のように第2バッテリB2の不具合の発生時における乗員の減速感が顕著となる場合には、第2バッテリB2の第2出力上限を第2最大出力より小さなレンジ延長時上限に設定し、第2バッテリB2の出力電力を制限することができる。これによりブースト走行中に第2バッテリB2の出力電力が大きく低下した場合に、車両の乗員に与える減速感を軽減することができる。

Claims (5)
- 車両の駆動輪と連結された回転電機と、第1蓄電器と、第2蓄電器と、
前記第1及び第2蓄電器と前記回転電機とを接続する電力回路と、
前記電力回路を操作し、前記第1及び第2蓄電器と前記回転電機との間の電力の授受を制御する制御装置と、
前記第1蓄電器から出力可能な電力に応じて増減する第1出力パラメータを取得する第1出力パラメータ取得手段と、を備える電源システムであって、
前記制御装置は、前記第1及び第2蓄電器の合成出力によって前記回転電機を駆動する合成出力走行時には、前記第2蓄電器の出力電力である第2出力を所定の第2出力上限以下に制限するとともに、前記第1出力パラメータが所定の閾値未満である場合、前記第1出力パラメータが前記閾値より大きい場合よりも、前記第2出力上限を小さな値に設定することを特徴とする電源システム。 - 前記制御装置は、前記合成出力走行時でありかつ前記第1出力パラメータが前記閾値未満である場合、前記合成出力走行中に前記第2出力が低下したときに前記車両に発生する減速加速度が所定の許容減速加速度以下になるように前記第2出力上限を設定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電源システム。
- 前記制御装置は、前記車両の速度が速くなるほど前記許容減速加速度を小さな値に設定することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の電源システム。
- 前記制御装置は、前記第1出力パラメータが前記閾値未満でありかつ前記車両の速度が所定の制限車速以下である場合、前記第1出力パラメータが前記閾値より大きい場合よりも、前記第2出力上限を小さな値に設定することを特徴とする請求項1から3の何れかに記載の電源システム。
- 前記第1蓄電器は、前記第2蓄電器よりも出力重量密度が低くかつエネルギ重量密度が高いことを特徴とする請求項1から4の何れかに記載の電源システム。
