Claims (6)
- 研磨砥石の製造方法であって、
ガラス粒を型枠に供給するガラス粒供給ステップと、
該ガラス粒が収容された該型枠を該ガラス粒の軟化点を超え融点未満の温度で加熱し、研磨砥石となるガラスブロックを形成する焼成ステップと、を備え、
該焼成ステップは、該ガラス粒間の隙間に気泡が分散して残存した状態で加熱を終了することを特徴とする研磨砥石の製造方法。 - 該ガラス粒は、ソーダガラス、長石、または、ホウケイ酸ガラスであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の研磨砥石の製造方法。
- 該焼成ステップ実施後の該ガラスブロックは、表面粗さ(Ra)が0.2μm以上1.5μm以下で気孔率が2%以上8%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の研磨砥石の製造方法。
- 該焼成ステップは、1時間以上2時間以内で実施されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれかに記載の研磨砥石の製造方法。
- 金属又はセラミックスの面を研磨するための研磨砥石であって、
表面粗さ(Ra)が0.2μm以上1.5μm以下であり、気孔率が2%以上8%以下であるガラスブロックで構成されたことを特徴とする研磨砥石。 - 砥粒を含まないことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の研磨砥石。
