Abstract
Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置、及びその作製方法について説明する。
図1(A)は、表示装置10の上面概略図である。表示装置10は、表示部11と、表示部12と、非表示部13と、を有する。
図1(B)には、表示装置10の断面概略図を示している。図1(B)では、図1(A)に示す表示部11、非表示部13、及び表示部12を含む一点鎖線S−Tにおける断面概略図を示している。
以下では、本発明の一態様の表示装置のより具体的な断面構成例について説明する。
図2に、表示装置10Aの断面概略図を示す。
図3(A)に、上記表示装置10Aとは一部の構成が異なる表示装置10Bの断面概略図を示す。表示装置10Bは、着色層81を有する点で、上記表示装置10Aと主に相違している。
図3(B)に表示装置10Cの断面概略図を示す。表示装置10Cは、発光素子40の構成が異なる点、及び着色層82を有する点で、表示装置10Bと主に相違している。
図4に、表示装置10Dの断面概略図を示す。表示装置10Dは、フロントライト80を有する点で、表示装置10Bと主に相違している。
以下では、本発明の一態様の表示装置の作製方法の一例について、図面を参照して説明する。ここでは、上記構成例2−2及び図3(A)で例示した表示装置10Bを例に挙げて説明する。
以下では、半導体層に適用可能な金属酸化物について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置を適用可能な表示モジュール及び電子機器の構成例について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の半導体装置を有する表示装置について、図10(A)乃至図10(C)を用いて説明を行う。
以下では、画素に表示される階調を補正するためのメモリを備える画素回路と、これを有する表示装置について説明する。以下で例示する画素回路は、本発明の一態様の表示装置の表示部に適用することができる。
図11(A)に、画素回路400の回路図を示す。画素回路400は、トランジスタM1、トランジスタM2、容量C1、及び回路401を有する。また画素回路400には、配線S1、配線S2、配線G1、及び配線G2が接続される。
続いて、図11(B)を用いて、画素回路400の動作方法の一例を説明する。図11(B)は、画素回路400の動作に係るタイミングチャートである。なおここでは説明を容易にするため、配線抵抗などの各種抵抗や、トランジスタや配線などの寄生容量、及びトランジスタのしきい値電圧などの影響は考慮しない。
期間T1では、配線G1と配線G2の両方に、トランジスタをオン状態にする電位を与える。また、配線S1には固定電位である電位Vrefを供給し、配線S2には第1データ電位Vwを供給する。
続いて期間T2では、配線G1にはトランジスタM1をオン状態とする電位を与え、配線G2にはトランジスタM2をオフ状態とする電位を与える。また、配線S1には第2データ電位Vdataを供給する。配線S2には所定の定電位を与える、またはフローティング状態としてもよい。
〔液晶素子を用いた例〕
図11(C)に示す画素回路400LCは、回路401LCを有する。回路401LCは、液晶素子LCと、容量C2とを有する。
図11(D)に示す画素回路400ELは、回路401ELを有する。回路401ELは、発光素子EL、トランジスタM3、及び容量C2を有する。
Claims (11)
- 第1の表示部と、第2の表示部と、非表示部と、第1の基板と、第2の基板と、を有し、
前記第1の表示部と、前記第2の表示部とは、前記非表示部を介して離隔して設けられ、
前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板とは、対向して設けられ、
前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板とは、それぞれ前記第1の表示部、前記第2の表示部、及び前記非表示部にわたって設けられ、
前記第1の表示部は、複数の液晶素子がマトリクス状に配置され、
前記第2の表示部は、複数の発光素子がマトリクス状に配置され、
前記液晶素子と前記発光素子は、前記第1の基板と、前記第2の基板の間に設けられ、
前記液晶素子は、可視光を前記第2の基板側に反射し、
前記発光素子は、可視光を前記第2の基板側に発する、
表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
第1の絶縁層と、第2の絶縁層と、を有し、
前記第1の絶縁層は、前記発光素子を覆って設けられ、且つ、無機化合物を含み、
前記第2の絶縁層は、前記第1の絶縁層を覆って設けられ、且つ、有機化合物を含み、
前記液晶素子は、前記第2の絶縁層上に設けられる、
表示装置。 - 請求項2において、
第1のトランジスタと、第2のトランジスタと、を有し、
前記液晶素子は、前記第1の基板側から第1の電極と、液晶層と、第2の電極と、を有し、
前記発光素子は、前記第1の基板側から第3の電極と、発光層と、第4の電極と、を有し、
前記第1の電極は、前記第1のトランジスタと電気的に接続され、
前記第3の電極は、前記第2のトランジスタと電気的に接続される、
表示装置。 - 請求項3において、
導電層を有し、
前記導電層は、前記第3の電極と同一面上に設けられ、
前記第1のトランジスタと、前記第1の電極とは、前記導電層を介して電気的に接続される、
表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一において、
遮光層を有し、
前記遮光層は、前記非表示部に位置し、且つ、前記液晶素子及び前記発光素子よりも前記第2の基板側に位置する、
表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一において、
接着層を有し、
前記接着層は、前記発光素子と、前記第2の基板との間に位置し、
前記発光素子は、前記接着層を介して前記第2の基板側に可視光を発する機能を有する、
表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一において、
前記第1の表示部に表示される第1の画像は、前記第2の表示部に表示される第2の画像よりも、低いフレーム周波数で表示される、
表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一に記載の表示装置を備える表示モジュールであって、
前記表示装置は、自動車のダッシュボードに取り付可能に構成され、
前記第1の表示部に表示される第1の画像は、速度及び回転数のうち少なくとも一の情報を含む画像を含み、
前記第2の表示部に表示される第2の画像は、燃料残量、冷却水の温度、走行距離、及び変速機の状態のうち、少なくとも一の情報を含む画像を含む、
表示モジュール。 - 請求項8において、
前記第1の画像は、前記第2の画像よりも、低いフレーム周波数で表示される、
表示モジュール。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一に記載の表示装置を備える電子機器であって、
前記第1の表示部に表示される第1の画像は、商品についての情報及び使用方法のうち、少なくとも一の情報を含む動画像を含み、
前記第2の表示部に表示される第2の画像は、前記商品の名称、価格、産地、原材料、及び内容量のうち、少なくとも一の情報を含む静止画像を含む、
電子機器。 - 請求項10において、
前記第1の画像は、前記第2の画像よりも、低いフレーム周波数で表示される、
電子機器。
